If I could give zero stars, I would – but the minimum here is one.

Summary:

If you pass your test while enrolled in her courses, it will be in spite of her teaching, not because of it.

The long story:

She doesn’t actually teach. She just plays video lessons from prøve.dk, throws in the absolute minimum of examples, and offers almost zero explanation herself as she prefers to sit in the back, scrolling on her phone.

Driving with her is like Russian roulette – you never know if she’ll be screaming at the top of her lungs or if everything is fine.

The in-car “explanations” are terrible
because her English is subpar or she just doesn’t know (ask her to show you how to put the foot on the gas pedal and why in that position and not in another; she will scratch her head).

Overall, you get a flood of conflicting instructions and no reasoning behind any of it – just “you’re not allowed to do X, Y, Z.” Well tough luck, how am I supposed to internalise that? Should I just memorize the law point by point straight from the bill itself instead?

And God forbid you ask for manual lessons. She’ll still show up in an automatic, even after you’ve told her a hundred times you want to learn on a manual.

Our so-called “collaboration” ended with me failing the practical test twice in a row. While I cannot blame anyone but myself, as a professional in another field that sometimes has to coach other people, I’m always interested in finding out why my mentee failed and what I can do better to set them up for success. Well, you’re in luck – she doesn’t care one bit, and you will not practise whatever it was that made you fail.

I finally switched schools, and thank God I did. In no more than five corrective lessons, I passed the practical test. When I asked the examiner if they could give me any pointers or highlight any mistake made, they couldn’t. That’s how I know it wasn’t 100% me – because the only thing that changed in the equation was her.

More than teaching me how to drive, she helped me recover the confidence I had lost while driving with a very unprofessional and unkind instructor. Worst experience i ever had in my life, disrespectful, names calling.

Elly is the kind of instructor who prefers to teach you the hard stuff first, she is funny, serious and punctual. She answers and helps you with all the questions you have. I took the practical test from the first one, I highly recommend her.

Elly is a sweetheart and also a badass when it comes to teaching. She gives attention to detail and personally made me very comfortable in the car. I got to learn a lot and would recommend internationals and native Danes to get in touch with her, if you are looking to get a Kørekort

The theoretical lessons were almost nonexistent. Instead of explaining, Elly just played videos from a website we could watch at home. When students asked questions, she often responded rudely and told them to study on their own. The lessons were also shorter than stated in the program, and the amount of useful information was minimal.

The driving lessons were stressful. During the first lesson, she just drove instead of me. After that, she often yelled at my mistakes, grabbed the wheel or pedals, instead of providing clear explanations. The focus was only on passing the exam in that specific car, not on real driving skills. Parking was taught only using the rearview camera.

The organization was also poor: frequent delays, switching cars with a different gearbox without notice, and unnecessary breaks during driving lessons. Some important technical questions for the test were never covered that were asked on my exam.

After these lessons, I became afraid of driving, even though I had previous experience and felt more confident before. Later, I found out that many students leave this school, change to another one and lose money. It’s disappointing and sad that people don’t share honest reviews, as it could help others avoid the same problems.

It was a very positive experience! Elly is an amazing instructor who found the right approach and showed incredible patience with my not-so-strong driving skills🙂. But now, I drive confidently and with joy!

Elly råbte og skreg af mig til køretimerne, bagtalte andre elever, fik mig samtlige gange til at græde hvorefter hun bedte mig om at tørre mit tude fjæs af. Jeg var bange hver gang jeg var ude og køre med hende da hun gav mig en følelse af jeg ikke kunne finde ud af at køre bil og man aldrig vidste hvilket humør hun var i, hvorefter da jeg skiftede køreskole fandt jeg ud af jeg faktisk godt kunne køre godt bil.
