our internet was acting up on April 9

our internet was acting up on April 9. on April 10 I called Eastlink support was on hold for approx. 10 minutes. Tech support checked things on their end and found no issues. That tech person then cut me off. The phone after two to three minutes was then answered by a billing person. She was helpful but could not diagnose the problem. I was then transfered to tech support once more.
Was told by tech person a service call would be needed. He said they could send someone out on Monday April 13th between 8:00am and 12:30 pm. Took Monday off to meet the tech but no one showed. Called Eastlink support, waited 30 minutes to have my call answered. The person on the phone look at Fridays notes and agreed a service tech was to show up but they had not been scheduled. I was then told no one could come until Friday.
I then asked to speak to a manager. The service tech transferred me to the Manager named John. I'm not sure if it's Eastlinks' policy to tell their Managers not to help customers, but that is the feeling I got.
I told John the Node that holds the wiring, has been uncovered for some time. His response was "That doesn't sound good" I would have preferred to hear " Wow I'll get someone out as soon as we can"

Very surprised by the poor Customer Service

Very surprised by the way they run the company. Outright lie to get me to sign up and jack up the rates after a few months. When there is any issue with equipment they send a bill for $1000 for a wifi repeater. Not worth your time to ever engage with them.

No compromise with people who can't go pre-authorized

Last year I transferred my phone to Eastlink. Then in April 2025 I bought a phone with them. The bundle w TV cable/internet brought down my bill. I was given a 5$ discount in April on mobile but it should have been given in Feb when I switched my phone. Now at the anniversary they will charge an extra 5 $ BC the 12 months is up. I was told I could get the discount if I chose pre authorization. I told eastlink I was breached and that's not an option. The price is high for Internet and cable

Don't waste your time.

Absolutely impossible to speak to a real person on the phone. Spent 3 hours trying to pay a bill after they had cut my phone off. All of that time was spent online being passed from one person to another via various bots. I have been with Eastlink for over 30 years and, if you include the business account, have paid them hundreds of thousands of dollars for their "services". They charged me $50 to re-activate my phone. How cheap and nasty can you get. That was the last straw. Switching to another provider today. If you, dear reader, are with Eastlink I suggest you escape their clutches as soon as you can.

Overcharged me deceitfully for internet!

This company is trash.

They charged me for 'copper increases,' apparently, and with no notification. Bill went from 68/month to 88 per month (after a 24-month promo), but then the past year it went up to 92.40, then 118, then 120, all in the last 12 months! When I communicated this to them, they were like, 'Oh, too bad, your promo ran out?!' Yet, they sent me an email on May 1, 2025, that my price was 88. Three months later, it was 118?!

Then four months later, it was 120 and no email?! WTF!

I will be reporting them to the CRTC and will never turn on auto billing again or ever use Eastlink for anything.

have had there POOR SERVICE HALF WORKING INTERENT for last 3 years and have fought with them every weekend they have sent LAZY TECKS to my home and oh its this its that and replace routers with same kind eastlink was using 20 years ago arris router and every friday i can set a timer 6pm friday till 6 am monday my routershuts off every 30 min and resets over and over all weekend long ..i call service and oh can you unoplug it for 2 min yes i can i have 400000000 times allready well its ok on my screen service rep says so ithas be ok at your home your just amagining things is whatthey try get you to think ..then oh well i can send a tech out to you in 3 weeks ..so im suppose pay you 120 a month for half working internet and wait 3 weeks to have tech come out and replace my router and nextday is friday at shure enough 6pmfriday comes and router starts its reseting every 30 min i call agian tech justhearand router reseting well ill send new tech and this is rinse and repeat last 3 years and i still have 30 min lasting internet all weekend long about 20 tech"S been my houseand still POOR /HALF WORKING NET POOREST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALTY WITH AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT HAND OUT EVERY MONTH WANTING PAYMENT FOR NET I CANT USE FROM FRIDAY TILL MONDAY

No customer service

Service is out so Eastlink just doesn’t offer customer service - their chat says 1 minute wait and it’s over an hour and no response. They don’t answer calls either. Brutal!

Communication? Company

For a communication company they have no awareness of what this means! I called Eastlink this morning to get service for our security system. I was put on hold and listened to head banging music recording with a rat-a-tat repetitive beat. No thought for their customers or their own customer support team who might wonder why people are angry!

I understand that my account is past…

I understand that my account is past due . I have been I customer of yours since 2017 and you have never asked me to pay a full bill to restore service. You never once called me when I was paying over $250.00 a month for service to ofer an upgrade or package . I finally ask if there is better packages and now you won’t let me regain service until full payment . I will make sure to contact everyone I know to let them know this is what eastlink thinks of their customers. They don’t say a word when you’re overpaying but then don’t even try help when you ask for it . I try to email them . With no response .

For a company that sells and service…

For a company that sells and service communication devices your ability to handel inbound calls is terrible, call back service that doesn't work and a self serve that only allows for payments and check what you owe. You have to go into a branch a speak with someone face to face to get good service. Internet works great but your customer service telephone experience is below sub par.

My 95 year old mother in a nursing home…

My 95 year old mother in a nursing home is being moved to a new room. They could not do a service call until Monday, however disconnected her phone, internet and tv on a Friday. This left my mother without any services for two days, and when the family called to complain and request the services re-instated Eastlink stated that it would simply create another wait in the new room without services.

They do not care about customer service and are very overpriced.
