My overall experience with Eleonex has been positive. I like the concept of the Edge Instant accounts, the variety of account options, and the fact that Eleonex is willing to listen to feedback from its traders. However, there are a few rules that I genuinely believe could be improved.
The 1% risk limit on the Edge Instant account is too restrictive in my opinion, especially on accounts such as $10K or $25K. I completely understand the need for strong risk management, but with only 1% available risk, there is very little room to properly manage a position, scale into a trade, or give a good setup enough space to develop. Even a small increase in flexibility here would make a significant difference without removing responsible risk management.
Another rule I would really like Eleonex to reconsider is the restriction on holding a buy and a sell on the same instrument within the same account. I completely understand prohibiting hedging between different accounts or different traders. However, opening an opposite position within your own account is different. A trader may have a longer-term position open and see an opportunity to take a short-term trade in the opposite direction. This can be a legitimate trading and risk-management technique rather than an attempt to exploit the firm.
The five profitable trading-day requirement, particularly when each qualifying day needs at least 0.5% profit, also feels unnecessarily restrictive when combined with the 20% consistency rule. On a $10K account, 0.5% is $50; on a $25K account, it is $125. That means a trader cannot simply have five sensible green days — each day must reach a specific minimum.
I actually think the 20% consistency rule itself is reasonable because it encourages traders to build profits consistently instead of making everything from one oversized trade or one lucky day. But when you combine that with five separate days requiring at least 0.5%, it can encourage traders to continue trading just to reach the required percentage even when there is no good setup available. Sometimes the best decision a disciplined trader can make is to stop for the day or not trade at all.
One more area where I would appreciate greater clarity and flexibility is adding to an existing position when the market moves against the initial entry. For many traders, scaling into a position is part of a planned strategy rather than reckless averaging or martingale trading. For example, if the market moves $20–$30 away from an initial entry but reaches another pre-planned level, a trader may want to add a second position while still keeping the total risk within the account’s limits. In my opinion, legitimate scaling with controlled overall risk should be clearly distinguished from martingale or uncontrolled averaging. Clearer rules allowing responsible position management would make the account much more practical for traders who use multiple planned entries.
Overall, I like Eleonex and I think the Edge Instant concept has a lot of potential. My criticism is constructive because these are the main things I would personally like to see improved. If Eleonex gave traders slightly more flexibility with the 1% risk limit, allowed legitimate opposite positions within the same account, provided clearer flexibility for responsible scaling into positions, and made the profitable-day requirement more flexible while keeping the 20% consistency rule, I believe the Edge Instant account would become a much more attractive product for serious and disciplined traders.
