It was a reliable RV, typical for a rental place based on my experiences. There was some weird whining, metallic noise constantly as we drove. The grey water gauge didn't work, pieces of the table were unglued and flapping around. The ignitor on the stovetop did not work. There was a slow leak in the black water outlet (awesome for the playa to leave no trace). The overhead cabin light did not work. Otherwise, we made it there and back.

We had a great experience with our RV rental during our family road trip through California and the Southwest. Travelling by RV was a fantastic experience for our family. It gave us the freedom to visit so many amazing places and made the road trip itself a big part of our vacation. We especially want to compliment the staff at the Los Angeles location. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. The service and personal attention we received were excellent and really made a difference. We would definitely recommend renting an RV here for a family road trip through the USA. Thank you for the great service and for helping make our vacation such a memorable experience!

for a 2 year old model the overal quality is not good. A lot of noise from the engine bay, poor handling, shutters dat doe not function ( no shutters for overhead windows, so always light in the rv, no possibility of blacking the motorhome out. )

The 24 - 26ft RV was perfect for our 7 day 1000 mile road trip. There was plenty of room for our party of 3 people. All of the equipment worked well without issue.

We chose El Monte / Mighty Campers over Cruise America because of its reputation for offering a newer fleet and better customer service. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite. Our Mighty Class C Medium had a serious ventilation/HVAC defect from the very beginning of our trip. Whenever the engine was under load, the airflow almost disappeared from the dashboard vents, leaving the rear of the RV hot and stuffy while the driver had freezing cold air constantly blowing onto his feet. During engine braking, the airflow briefly switched back before changing again. This happened continuously throughout our 21-day journey covering more than 7,000 km (almost 5,000 miles). This was not a minor inconvenience—it affected every single day of our trip. To make matters worse, the shower curtain had apparently been contaminated by animal urine before we picked up the vehicle. This should have been discovered during cleaning and inspection, but it wasn't. We spent almost three weeks with an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. When we reported the ventilation problem, we were asked to interrupt our vacation, find a service center ourselves, and spend our own holiday dealing with repairs. We had planned a cross-country journey across the United States months in advance, with campgrounds and attractions booked along the route. We paid approximately USD 310 per day for this RV. At that price, I did not expect to become part of El Monte's service process or spend my vacation organizing repairs for their vehicle. I expected roadside assistance or a replacement RV. The biggest disappointment came at the end. I asked to speak with a manager, but no manager met with us. Instead, an employee repeatedly went back and forth asking management what they were willing to offer. The final resolution was simply: waiving the cleaning fee, offering USD 100 as goodwill compensation. The amount itself is not the issue. This trip cost our family many thousands of dollars and was a once-in-a-lifetime journey from Europe. Mechanical problems can happen with any vehicle. What defines a rental company is how it treats its customers when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, I felt that El Monte's priority was simply to close the case as quickly and as cheaply as possible rather than genuinely resolve the problem. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend either this vehicle or El Monte RV. If I ever plan another RV trip across the USA, I will choose a different rental company. Premium prices should come with premium customer service. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

We received a 32 feet RV - that was really surprising. It was a bit hard to drive but in US it is possible to drive it on the roads. Just for a few roads we could not drive because there were restrictions about the length. The quality of the RV could be a bit better: the water pump was dying and there were leakings in the kitchen water and grey water. They organised a technician relatively quick (of course it is a huge country) and we continued our travel. The door seal is another problem, that we had a year before in another RV, too. It was falling out but I could hide it under the passenger seat. For the inconvenience we received a discount without asking. The big RV had a lot of space for us and was very comfortable to use. All places we booked before for our 24 feet RV that we booked had no problem with a bigger RV. We liked it very much. Surprising was that this big RV needed 'only' 22 liters Benzin on 100 km. (that means 22 Euro for 100 km) I thought this big RV would need more. We did about 5500 km in 30 days. We liked everything very much and we are already looking forward to the rental next year. As a German, I am naturally accustomed to a higher standard of build quality in a motorhome. But for an American vehicle, it’s perfectly fine.

We picked up the RV in Las Vegas. Even during the vehicle orientation, we noticed a few issues that led to major problems later on during the trip. For example, there was a clearly visible dirty footprint on the bedsheet. The employee didn’t replace the sheet until we pointed it out. In addition, the lever for the gray water tank was very difficult to operate. Even the El Monte employee had trouble operating it and simply handed us a can of WD-40 instead of fixing the problem. Later in the trip, the lever finally broke off completely about halfway through our vacation. Unfortunately, in the days that followed, we also discovered that the camper was in an extremely dirty condition overall. This condition was not immediately apparent in its entirety when we picked up the vehicle. In our view, it is unacceptable to rent a vehicle in this condition to customers. In addition, we had booked the Platinum Package, which includes, among other things, a coffee maker and a toaster. However, both items were missing when we picked up the vehicle. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice this until after we had left the rental station. We have already forwarded the details of this incident directly to El Monte via a complaint email
