Second time at Casa Pilar
After July 2023, we were allowed to be guests at Casa Pilar for the second time in October 2024!
It was another wonderful week! Autumn also has its charms in Marche and especially in Casa Pilar.
Lisa and Cristiano are perfect hosts and they are on hand with help and advice.
We will definitely come back to Casa Pilar a third time!

Apartment with wonderful pool and view
When I booked the Villa Night & Day 6 + 2 direct thru Emma Villas website I carefully read the description of the text and I read “a house” and when I looked at the photos I saw the outside of the entire house/villa. When we arrived and were talking with Rita, I asked her whether we had rented the entire house/villa and she replied no, it’s only the ground floor with a mezzanine.
In my opinion what I rented was an apartment not a villa or a house. A villa is an entire house not an apartment, nowhere in your text do you state the so called “villa” is ONLY the ground floor. This is totally misleading and had I known that I was renting an “apartment” I would not have booked the Villa Night & Day 6 + 2 but another “proper villa”.
During my stay I could hear people talking upstairs, also I would often hear water running in the pipes at between 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning and also at 23:00 in the evening. This is not something I would expect to hear when I am on holiday!
The kitchen cupboards smelt musty when you opened them.
The pool, grounds and view are all stunning and can only say top, 100%.

Great overall experience! The upfront registration saved a lot of time later on and when we got to the villa. Though we dealt more directly with the owner of the Villa, it was a great experience.

The Villa is amazing
The Villa is amazing, perfect for 4 couples, Stefano was very helpful and check in and check out was very easy… the rooms were great, the beds could use a tempurpedic mattress topper they aren’t very comfortable. The GPS has a hard time finding it and without the directions from Stefano I am not sure we would have found it. The view is awesome but the driveway is an adventure, very narrow and steep and uneven gravel, not for the faint of heart. We had a Jeep SUV and anything bigger wouldn’t make it up the driveway
Dealing with anyone at Emma Villas was awesome, very helpful, organized, easy to get answers very pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend Emma Villas and would use them again for further bookings.

Emma Villas provided us a great experience and location for our Sicilian vacation
Emma Villas provided us a great vacation in a wonderful location. The property was outstanding and the process of booking with Emma Villas was easy and effortless. The property was outstanding in location and meeting all of our needs. The property was a historic farmhouse that was restored to perfection. The property was spotless and the owners met us upon checkin and were so gracious. Location to historic Sicilian towns and to the San Lorenzo beach was fabulous! We had a party of 4 people and the home accommodated 6. Three large bedrooms and 2 full baths. The Pool was a great added plus for us to enjoy when we returned from our trips to the historic cities and to the beaches. We highly recommend Emma Villas and the Villa Palmento 6 located in the area of Noto and San Lorenzo beach. Thank you all so much.

This company used 15 year old photos…
This company used approximately 15 year old photos of a holiday home on their website. It is not surprising that after 15 years it looks very different than in the photos. It turned out that little to no maintenance had been done in the meantime. When you make a comment about this you are treated extremely rudely. Keep that in mind before booking through Emma Villas.

A great family holiday and occasion celebration. A very nice property and location with a good amount of options for interesting visits within a reasonable distance.
The pool area and outside covered terrace were very nice but the inside sitting room was a bit tight for a larger group - not a problem in the summer when you're outside all the time but could be an issue at other times.

We have a mixed review of our time at…
We have a mixed review of our time at Chipieri 4+2. The booking, registration and check-in were easy and efficient. We were especially grateful to have been sent the driving directions. The house itself, inside and out, and the setting were everything we had hoped for. Access to the wonderful vegetable garden was a special addition.
Having stayed in many rental properties around the world, we found Chipieri to be less than welcoming. In all other properties we have found an adequate supply of products that a guest would expect in a rental of this quality. They were small things but certainly had an impact on our overall experience. Things such as bathroom soap, tissues, toilet paper, foil and plastic wrap, coffee and decent towels were not available. Your self.catering policy should not be an excuse for not supplying those items. In addition, when we called the property manager to ask about these items, we were told that a cleaning person and/or a father-in-law would be out to address these issues. No one ever showed up.
There should be written instructions left for the guests that explain the workings of the property. We know that the weather was unseasonably chilly and we were quite cold but had no idea that the heat in this part of Italy could not be turned on until November 1. This piece of information should have been mentioned in your description of the property.

Une honte, ne passez pas par ses charlatans, une villa louée 3000 euros la semaine pour une piscine sale, un liner vétuste tt jaune, le chien du propriétaire qui viens salire le salon de jardin et voler les chaussures et peluche de nos enfants.... Le premier soir une prise a commencer à fondre car les deux climatisation était branché sur un simple prise.... Nous avons donc frôlé le départ de feu et pas eu de clim pendant deux jours...
À la fin du séjour dans Emma Villa prestige vous devrez sortir intégralement toutes vos poubelles aussi... Franchement pas du luxe pour le prix payer à la semaine,venant de France je ferais une mauvaise pub pour pas que d'autre tombe dans le panneau !

As discussed in our private correspondence, the outlet issue occurred after it was used to charge your electric vehicle, which was not permitted in the first place. This has been the only reported instance of such a problem, even though the property has been fully booked throughout the season. While the owner kindly decided not to seek any compensation for the damage, since you requested compensation yourself, we informed you that we would have to send somebody to evaluate the situation to fairly determine the responsibilities of all parties involved.
We regret that our efforts were not appreciated and that you chose to leave a review instead of continuing our dialogue.
Regarding the additional concerns you raised, we note that these were communicated only after your check-out, which limited our ability to assist you or send someone to verify and resolve the situation during your stay.
After consulting with the local property manager, we were informed that the property’s air conditioning system is fully operational and has not had any reported issues. Similarly, the pool is generally clean, though, as noted, a residue can sometimes appear during peak season due to sunscreen use. Special treatments to address this are only possible when the pool is not in use.
As you referenced the term “luxury,” we would like to kindly remind you that the property you reserved, Trulli Italia, is a charming, historic Trullo, over 200 years old, but there is no mention of a luxury property. The description on our website highlights its unique appeal, blending tradition with modern comforts It’s rental cost reflects its value based on its features, location, and the high-demand period of your stay (August).
We hope that despite these issues, you were still able to enjoy the unique character of the property and its beautiful surroundings. Thank you for your feedback, which helps us continuously improve the experiences we provide to our guests.

Great Service - Professional Company
From initial booking to our arrival, Emma Villas replied promptly to all our queries via email. Having used Emma Villas before, we expected this level of service and they did not let us down. On arrival, we received a courtesy message, checking that everything was ok - giving us the opportunity to highlight any issues. The villa was just as advertised (we stayed at Villa Ai Due Cuori for 3 weeks). The host Daniele was on hand to answer via WhatsApp any queries we had during our stay and he responded immediately.

Emma villas took care of the communication and payments of our stay at Nonno Fernando until we arrived. Then we had contact with the hosts.
Nonno Fernando was magnificent, better than we ever dreamed of and Giovanni with family was lovely and so caring!
