Here at Essentials for Education we take great pride and responsibility designing, sourcing and helping to develop educational resources for children of all ages and ability levels. We are very aware that children learning from birth to 5 years are learning set by the standards of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We supply childminders, schools, nurseries, playgroups and school reception classes with resources we feel will help these children develop. Essentials for Education are always actively looking to enhance the products we supply to help early years professionals promote and educate children in the 7 areas of learning: Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the world and Expressive arts and design. Three of these areas Communication and language, Physical development and personal, social and emotional development are prime areas where children can learn and develop their basic life skills, gaining confidence then to strengthen and apply literacy and mathematical skills.

We do not have any records on our system that match this order complaint. This "customer" has been attempted to be contacted on several occasions to try and address their concerns. Having tried to contact this reviewer and we don't have any track of any order that would match the review, this has led us to make the decision that this reviewer may not be a genuine customer. 3D Giraffe puzzle
The toy, a 3D Giraffe puzzle, was excellent and fitted the description perfectly. The communication I had with the company prior to purchase was promptly and satisfactorily answered. The toy arrived on time. The only aspect of this purchase that concerned me was first the cost of packaging and postage. This was excessive for a toy measuring less than 6 inches,weighing little more than a few ounces and costing less than £5, however I still decided to go ahead. When it arrived, it was packed in a box measuring approximately18 x 12 x 4 INCHES and full of bubble wrap and other plastic packaging. This is very wasteful and the cost of post and packaging could have been much less. After communicating with the company, I accept the reason for the charges, but still feel the packaging was wasteful.

Hi Janet, I am glad you like the 3D Giraffe Puzzle. We send all our deliveries using the excellent overnight UPS service at a cost to us of £6.80. We take great pride in our record of the lack of goods being returned for damages due to the way we package the goods safely for the journey and don't feel this is wasteful. The box sent is the standard small package box used on the UPS service . Any future orders we would be pleased to use less packaging and possibly send via our local post box saving on the initial costs, however this then wouldn't be insured and no guarantees of the product being delivered on time or delivered at all.
My Colleague Ben,read your e-mail, manually checked stock, kept the product on his desk waiting for your confirmation, packaged the product, made sure the product was shipped out immediately on a next day delivery service and kept you informed at every step of the ordering process and you received the "excellent" product the next day.
Thanks for your feedback, all forms are always welcome as we find this is how we can improve on the services we offer. I am proud of the way Ben has handled this order and feel on this occasion we have been given a 3 star review for a 5 star service.

Great customer service...
I have used Essentials for over 15 years now, several years whilst working in a private day nursery and now as a manager of a local pre-school and in both situations I have always found them as being courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and amenable to our personal needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a competitively priced and local to the north west company.

Special delivery arrangements can sometimes be arranged but may incur an extra charge. Although stocked items are usually delivered in 3 - 5 working days, please allow up to 21 days for certain products. ("Next day" orders need to be placed before 2pm to be delivered next working day). We will contact you to inform you if delivery is expected to take longer than 21 days.
