Have been a customer for many years. The quality of the clothing is fantastic and lasts so well.
The ETC are fantastic to deal with
I see alot of comments regarding pre orders and sadly that's the nature of the beast sometimes and cant be helped. I am currently waiting for a pre order from another NZ label and the lack of updates is annoying. From what I have seen ETC has been very transparent and honest with delays and keeping everyone informed.
If your wanting high quality products then ETC is for you

Brought item in Feb. preorder that was originally due in Jan. arrival date kept getting pushed out. Item still hasn’t arrived. Asked for a refund. etc refuses refund. Offered me another item on their website of equal value or will invoice me price difference if higher the original purchase price. Incredibly frustrating that they hve this attitude towards paying customers. Don’t know how they are getting away with this attitude. Definitely taking my complaint further. Such a shame to I’ve been a long time customer but last while quality has dropped and customer service is nonexistent.

I ordered a hoodie, which arrived months later than expected. Then when it did arrive, the pattern I ended up with had a different background colour (more peachy than pink), the pattern itself was bad quality, looking almost pixelated or faded around the edges of the flowers, rather than it being sharp as in the original image, and it didn't have the same flower motifs (none of the large and medium black and pink roses), the spacing between the pattern elements was different, the flower element sizing was different: it was definitely not the same pattern!

When I went back to the company, they didn't agree that it was a different pattern. They insisted that "print placement can vary slightly from item to item depending on how the fabric roll is cut during production. This is a normal part of the all-over printing process and does not affect the quality, sizing, or wearability of the garment." I did not agree and said so.

They offered store credit, which I agreed to, and then I never heard back from them, despite following up three times.

A very disappointing experience. I would never buy from this company again.

I'm still waiting on a pre-order from September 2025. It's August 2026, so, coming up a year now.

It's harder to remain looking forward to the items after reading reports of poor quality from others. BUYER BEWARE.

I will never ever buy from this company again! Scammers! Crap quality and only sent one item from my order. You’d have better luck and quicker delivery from Temu! Maybe declare bankruptcy and go work at Mcds.

The quality has decreased greatly. I ordered a jacket and after waiting over a month for my order the quality was terrible and not as advertised. I returned the item as per the instructions only to find at the post shop counter this was a rural address! Costing $15 to return the item. It then took 2 weeks to process the return after confirmation or delivery. Absolutely no acknowledgement of non-disclosure on the rural address and i was refused a refund. The owner and staff are unwilling to help and clearly dont understand the consumers guarantee act. After much deliberation I had to use my credit. 40days later I am still waiting for my order! they are unwilling to send the items that are in stock. Any comments made on there facebook page are deleted. After years of supporting this company i will not be purchasing from them again.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK. I bought slippers advertised as cotton with a rubber sole. When the slippers arrived the fabric felt more like polyester than cotton. Six times I emailed the company asking for confirmation and a manufacturing certificate as proof of the fabric and sole composition. Zero response to any of my emails. I sent a sample of both the fabric and the sole into a laboratory in Auckland and the results were conclusive. FABRIC - consistent with polyester, SOLE - consistent with calcium carbonate filled styrene-butadiene rubber (synthetic rubber). In other words, they charged a premium price for what was falsely advertised as a pair of cotton slippers with a rubber sole but were in fact a cheap, synthetic pair of slippers. Which then leads one to question what other products they are selling that are being falsely mispresented. BUYER BEWARE

I was a good customer for years. Happy to support NZ companies, especially by women. Disappointed now, as waiting on an item for 9 months. I was fine with delays at first and the owners FB messages about her personal struggles; we've all been there. But having no communication personally regarding my order is not professional and nothing specifically mentioned since May regarding the items in my order. I have emailed directly and no reply either. The owner has my money and I want it back!! Shocking for a NZ company.

I waited 10 months for a piece of clothing to arrive. I could have almost tolerated the long wait and given understanding and kindness to situations out of the business’s control. But when the item arrived it wasn’t even the same as what I had ordered. It was similar but clearly different and had I known the true colour and pattern of the material I would not have ordered it. So after 10 months I have an ugly top that I will never wear. Learn from my mistake and don’t buy from this company.

Etc clothing is a joke. Do not buy, been waiting months for a reply, only for them to make an excuse and not refund me like asked. Replied to the email now I’ll have to wait another 3 months for a reply. If they send my stuff eventually I will be sending it right back. Customer service is a joke, excuses after excuses, taking people hard earned money and having extravagant trips over seas, not communicating with customers and having 1 admin person when you know you are up shit creek with no paddle. Not doing anything to sort frustrated customers just making excuses. Now creating a hand made range spending hours to “promote” new items when she hasn’t got back to people waiting months but can find the time to make more clothes. Marketing consistent, she’s got time for that, she’s got time to make new items, but what she doesn’t have time for is long standing loyal customers who have now had enough. Making my complaint to the commerce commission and further if I have to. This is unacceptable do not buy, don’t waste your money on poor quality and disgusting customer service.

I need help into how I complain to other sources as I have had no resolution from Etc

I’ve kept quiet for far too long.

I am still waiting on a dress, 7 months later. I have emailed, messaged, and posted seeking an update, with no response. Comments are deleted and customers blocked rather than concerns being addressed.

This isn’t the first time, by a long shot, that I’ve experienced long waits for items from ETC Clothing. Time and time again I’ve given the benefit of the doubt, shown patience, and continued supporting the business, hoping things would improve.

There seems to be plenty of discussion about how unfairly others behave, yet little accountability taken for customer experiences. I have been a loyal customer, but sadly I will not be purchasing again. I’ll be clearing out my items and moving on.

Every business, organisation, and agency is expected to acknowledge mistakes, communicate professionally, and take responsibility when things go wrong. No business is exempt from that.

Due to the lack of communication and resolution, I will be seeking legal advice regarding this matter.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with ETC Clothing or taken steps to recover an order or resolve an issue?

Really disappointed with this company and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I ordered items in August 2025 and to date I still haven't received one of the items. I received one item after waiting eights months. I am still waiting for the rest of it and despite sending them numerous emails enquiring about delivery dates, they have chosen to ignore my emails. I thought it would be alright buying local but was I wrong. Gives a bad name to the genuine local sellers out there. Never again.

Unfortunately my experience with ETC Clothing was disappointing. The quality of the items was very hit and miss, and customer service was extremely poor. I sent multiple emails and received no response until I commented publicly on one of their Facebook posts.

It then took around a month to have my refund processed, again only after commenting publicly for an update. Overall, not a good shopping experience and I think people should be aware before ordering.

Used to be fab - now is far from. They do not reply to emails etc, I no personally of several people owed money from a number of years ago.
They love to rant on facebook, but beware do not comment they will delete or put you on blast.
Pre order there is waiting and then WAITING
I personally haven't ordered for a long time after falling 'victim' to been an awful person for wanting to return something however have a few friends currently in the boat i was - but i do feel has got worse!

Done a pre-order last year was due to arrive October. 7 months later I still havnt received it. They said April when I wrote on their post after emails wernt answered. They were happy to take the money but no communication for any form of refund or credit due to the significant wait. This company used to be really good as ive purchased alot through them over the last few years. Shame it hasnt stayed that way.

100% scammer. I’m surprised how these people can continue to operate. Place pre orders, pay, never receive items and just get blocked. It’s pure theft. You’ve been warned.

Patiently waited over a month and the quality is worse than shein. Its a real shame cause the old stuff was good quality. I placed quite a large order and its unwearable

Fleece lined hoodie, I thought i was getting a decent quality hoodie like they used to make instead I've had this awful cheap shiny polyester thing turn up, it is so thin you can literally see through it, yes it is kind of fleecy more soft than actual fleece that will keep you warm, 100% waste of money, it went straight in the bin, after a very long wait for it to arrive. Buyer beware.

Absolutely awesome clothing company, I've been a customer for around 10 years and an admirer for much longer. Gorgeous pieces with brilliant designs and high quality material. I have many pieces from years ago still! 80% of my wardrobe is Etc! Great customer service, awesome small team of a couple of mums. My fav!
