Did a great job with my question. As a new Rv’er I need guidance to confirm some of the things I research online as possible replacements and/or repairs. With getting the response i received from him it made me feel confident in my purchase and the repair. My job is completed and all is working great. 2022-2024 Kia Forte non-GT owners
2022-2024 Kia Forte non-GT owners, be advised. The Curt Hitch #C55HR is not designed for the 2024 Kia Forte as per Curt Manufacturing. The Kia Forte non-GT model has the same rear bumper as the GT model, matching part numbers. After purchasing a Curt C55HR and attempting to install it on a 2024 Kia Forte LXS, I found that the instructions with the hitch are for a 2021 Kia Forte and did not work for the updated bumper on the 2024 Kia Forte.
After a lengthy period of back and forth emails with Curt Manufacturing engineering, this was their response;

Hello Steve,
At this time there have been no updates. The bumper on you car is just like to GT line, which is excluded from all fitment currently.
The instructions with the Curt Hitch #C55HR show pictures of a 2021 Kia Forte bumper, even the "KIA" logo on the rear deck lid is of the 2021 era.
Apparently someone at Curt engineering dropped the ball on this one!
I am happy and would recommend to my friends
Pros:
-The hitch installed quickly
-It seems very sturdy and heavy duty for its class
-It is perfect for my use for a bike rack qttachment
-Well protected, should resist rust
Cons:
-For 1 man installation you will need something to support each end or struggle.
-The shipper tore the box and the rack got scratched, but that is the shippers fault.
-More expensive than the comp, but you get a superior product.

I ordered a trailer hitch
I ordered a trailer hitch. Before it reached me, it was rerouted from the West Coast back to the East Coast. Therefore, it was over two weeks late. When I called to report the problem, I was given a date it would arrive and told that I would be contacted if it did not arrive by that date. The date came and went with no contact from etrailer. When I finally got my hitch, the box was destroyed. When I tried to lift the box, the bottom began to give way. The hitch was hanging out one side, the box was open, and all the smaller boxes/packages inside the big box were opened and smashed. I contacted etrailer. They asked me to tape it up/repackage it so they could retrieve it. (Seriously, they wanted ME to repair the box. WOW!!) They offered to send me a replacement; however, no guarantees were given that I would receive the product promptly. Also, no offer of a small discount or compensation was made for my trouble. I will not do business with them again.

I received an answer from Jon quickly that explained what I was looking for. The advice was friendly, courteous and accurate. Saved me the time from researching it on my own. I ended up ordering the Inno and its adapter for my X3 based on Jon GPS recommendation.

Great Troubleshooting Info
Jarred suggested that we may have blown a fuse as to why our Curt Bluetooth Trailer Brake wasn't working. As it turns out it was correct. We couldn't locate the fuse either, since U-Haul installed our hitch and 7 pin the trailer repair company couldn't readily see where the fuse was located and it required extensive re-wiring. $300 later we are all set. Thank for such a quick answer and follow-up.

On August 18,2025
On August 18,2025, I reached out to the company to confirm the fitment of a B and W Gooseneck Hitch Installation Kit for my vehicle. The representative verbally verified the fitment. I then placed the order online. It came via UPS on August 20,2025. We began the install on August 21,2025. It was supposed to bolt on with no problem as confirmed by the representative. It did not, the setup had bolts, nuts and washers missing and also does not work with a 2” body lift (even though the representative verbally verified). I reached out to the company, they offered a return option. However, we needed to pick up a trailer the next day. I contacted a mobile welder to fabricate the brackets, which was successful. I even told the representative via email that I was having this done. He told me it would void the warranty and I could not return it. That was fine because I needed to pick up a trailer plus if I returned it then I still had a 4” hole along with 5 other smaller holes drilled into my bed. I doubt E Trailer would pay for a bed replacement. After all, the welder would be cheaper than that plus they would not have to pay for a shipping label. The company now refuses to compensate me for the welder. The representative states the company is not liable. For this to such a “Top Rated” company (supposedly) wouldn’t you compensate for the welder. After all, you still make money off of your product, you did not have to pay for a bed replacement, you did not have to pay for a shipping label to send the product back and it was not my fault to start with. If the representative would have been more knowledgeable or simply have stated that the kit may not work then I would not have purchased it and this entire situation would not exist right now. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and spoke to my family attorney regarding this matter.
Sent trailer harness with "Known Issue"
Purchased trailer harness specifically listed for my vehicle from Etrailer.com 4-22-2025. Did not work right. Harness did not deactivate the surge brakes. Recently took trailer in and had brakes checked and serviced.
Neighbor brought over his truck, trailer wiring/surge deactivation worked fine.
Sarah W. at Etrailer said it was a "known issue". Would not send me a modified harness to fix the problem as requested. Etrailer.com sold me a harness knowing it would not work. See attached email trail. Will not send me a full refund.

Etrailer without a doubt has the best customer service in the business, both before and after purchase. In this case I asked a for advice in selecting the best rooftop cargo box for my vehicle. I received a timely, well-informed, detailed response that was extremely helpful.

Quick to process order but slow in cancelling order
etrailer is good until they are bad. I had a recent experience where I placed an order on a late Saturday afternoon. I tried to cancel the order within 30 minutes but the order and customer service department was closed by that time. Later that evening, I received an email telling me that my order had been shipped. So I am stuck with having to return the package (shipping both ways) because their shipping department is not in sync with their customer service department.
