I bought a supposedly new laptop. The price was good, but they only had 2 such laptops left and both were on display which means unpackaged and operating system installed on them at least once, and probably some grubby hands touching them after which they would be reset to factory settings and wiped well. I ordered the laptop and paid for it to be delivered to my town which is not the same where the closest of the stores is. It was delivered within the expected timeframe - so far so good. However, when I unscrewed it to upgrade the hard drive, there were 2 screws missing from the battery and 2 long, black hair stuck to the tape holding the battery wires down. I complained, sent photo as a proof and asked for the laptop to be collected and the other one delivered instead or a discount given as someone had clearly removed the battery and replaced it without screws before I got it. They replaid the only option is to come myself to the store where the other one is displayed for it to be exchanged, and I'd need to come soon before anyone else buys it. No apologies, no discount, no help in return and not even offer to hold the replacement for me. I called them to clarify, and they promised to look into it, but their answer didn't change after that. Albeit angry at such a customer service, I took time off and went to the store. The staff there were kind, checked my laptop and replaced with theirs. Funny enough, they also offered me to buy extended warranty. I would have expected that to be offered free of charge for the hassle caused to me in this situation, but Euronics cannot afford to lose any Euro. After getting home I looked for upgrading the hard drive again, and realised the 2 screws for the battery were missing for this one as well, plus the manufacturer's sticker on the battery was torn in half when someone had removed the tape holding the battery wires. Again I emailed the store with photo and they only offered to return the laptop. This time they did at least offer to pay for the return. I kept the laptop, but the store has gained an unhappy customer and due to their not-our-problem attitude also a bad review.
