Left stranded in corfu and ripped off of all my money.
Booked in January. Pick up 10pm...they close at 10pm and did not pick up the phone.
2 others also were unable to get their car and were stranded overnight.
I'm a single mum with a daughter. We managed to get another car elsewhere at midnight!
Returned next day to get the car at exer only to be told by the woman my booking did not exist. She saw my reference and receipts and my bank statement showing the funds paid.
Had to get another car elsewhere. So I paid £159 in January, then another 300 euros today so save the holiday as our rental home was 1 hour drive.
I videoed the woman clearly enjoying ruining our holiday. I can't afford to treat my daughter now as they wasted all my savings.
I have a receipt. A reference and proof of payment. The woman was really horrible and enjoyed being cruel. The 2 guys before me had a night wasted also. But she made them give her their credit cards and said they had to put 800 euros down payment on their cars.... The car I hired elsewhere asked me 50 euro deposit.. Not 800!!!!
I've never had a situation like this renting a car on holiday. It's always been straightforward. The pick up on my booking stated 10pm. They close at 10pm and refused to give me the car I paid for and did not care leaving a single mum an her daughter stranded in the middle of the night. Shameful company and shameful woman indeed

Έκανα την κράτησης μέσω της carjet και δεν ανέφερε ότι χρειαζόταν πιστωτική. Φάνηκε μόλις ολοκληρώσαμε την κράτηση. Στο αεροδρόμιο Θεσσαλονικης ήρθαν να μας παραλάβουν καθυστερημένα. ΟΤΑΝ είπαμε πως δεν έχουμε πιστωτική μας ζήτησαν 150€ επιπλέον για να μας δώσουν το αμάξι που είχαμε προπληρώσει με την κράτηση.Και φυσικά δεν είχαν καμία διάθεση να μας εξυπηρετήσουν. Και φυσικα Φύγαμε και βρήκαμε αλλού που δεν χρειαζόταν πιστωτική. Φαίνεται πως έχουν καλύτερες τιμές ενώ στην ουσία σου ζητάνε κι άλλα μετά.

This company is a scam, they didnt send my insurence it was 200 euro. They said that we where going to get the money in tweny to thirty days but we didnt get it. We send a gmail twice but they didnt anwser! This company is a total scam, dont book your cars from there!

Πραγματικά έχω ταξιδέψει σε όλοι σχεδόν Ελλαδα πρώτη φορά αντιμετωπίσα τέτοια άθλια εξυπηρέτηση… Μας έδωσαν προβληματικό βαν μείναμε στην μέση του πουθενά-τους καλέσαμε για βοήθεια δεν ήρθαν καν την ίδια μερα ήρθαν την επόμενη-εμείς οι οικογένεια μου μαζί με παιδί μου αναγκάστηκαμε και πήγαμε σε άλλο ξενοδοχείο κοντά στην περιοχή και όχι στο δικό μας … και δεν έφταναν όλα αυτά έρχονται την επόμενη ημέρα και μας λένε ότι εμείς φταίμε και μας ζήτησαν να πληρώσουμε ένα εξωφρενικό ποσό πάνω 1κ … δεν θέλω να πω κάτι άλλο έχουμε απευθυνθεί σε αρμόδιους… απαράδεκτοι

Even though I had paid for maximum coverage on both the vehicle and the deductible, upon arrival I was asked for an additional $950 in insurance, $25 per day for the sun pass even though I wasn't going to use it, and a hold on my card for $1200 instead of $900. The conditions were rejected due to attempted fraud, and we were left stranded. Now 20 days have passed and even though I did not collect the car for the reasons mentioned above, the assistance still has not refunded me what I initially paid. Be careful. Absolutely not recommended!

DO NOT USE They took a €800 euro deposit from us for the full excess amount. This goes as a charge on your account... they say after you take the car back the charge is removed and it takes 30 to 45 days to get access back to this amount. I handed the car back on 17th September and still have not got my money. They are telling me dont worry ill get it back...then im told I would have got it back and check the bank. We cannot afford to lose this type of money.

We rented a car online for 110 USD; in their office we were asked to pay 500 USD more in order to have the car!!!!!!!!
Upon our refusal, they even refused to take us back to the departure point.
The rudest company I have ever seen!!!

We made a reservation in March to rent a car in Chios from August 28-31, 2025. When we realized Exer charged our credit card for the full amount immediately, we cancelled our reservation (in March). Although they have a 48 hour cancellation policy and we are still not close to the deadline, we can not get our money refunded after trying repeatedly. A scam!!!

I want to complain about the scam with the car rental of this Company.
Working for an airline and use to service different car rentals is the 1st time in Greece I have been refused to rent a car due to the employee lack of customer service.
I rented a car through auto Europe establishing in the general conditions an international credit card Mastercard or Visa.
Your employee start to saying he can’t accept it any it was compliant to autoeurope conditions, he didn’t even tried to block the deposit.

Worst service ever. Hidden fees, if you don't have a credit card with the driver license name you will be charged an extra 175 Euros of hidden fees. Then you will have to pay an extra deposit of 100 euros. In the end the extra fees are more than the actual fees

I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Exer at Mykonos Airport.

Although the rental voucher did state that a credit card was required for the deposit, I only noticed this when I landed—my mistake. I had a debit card and was ready to pay the €800 deposit, as I’ve done with other companies without issue.

What followed was even worse: I was offered shady alternatives—pay in cash, or use my debit card if I agreed to a non-refundable €100 “fee” (€20/day), which was never disclosed during booking. The process felt manipulative and untrustworthy.

Stranded at the airport, I found many reviews warning of the same—including withheld deposits and surprise charges. I had to pay over €40 for a taxi and book with another provider just to salvage my trip.

Exer also charges a €15 cleaning fee on return, unless you want to clean it yourself —something I’ve never encountered in years of hiring cars.

I strongly advise avoiding Exer entirely. It’s not worth the stress, the hidden costs, or the risk.

Unfair and misleading commercial practices, not recommend at all, our case is still in legal dispute.

We rented a car on Thessaloniki Airport. Pick up was ok. Car was ok, but we had to take out an extra insurance for road assistance. Otherwise road assistance would be very precious.
I feel cheated by this company.

Seems Like a Scam – No Response, No Accountability

I didn’t rent the car myself, but I was there when my partner did – and what we witnessed was truly disappointing.

After returning the car in good condition (with only a tiny scratch caused by an external issue), the rental company silently charged the entire €500 deposit without warning, without any documentation, and without responding to multiple emails.

The staff never gave a clear explanation, and communication was nonexistent. It honestly feels like they’re taking advantage of tourists – no transparency, no receipts, just a charge and silence.

If this is how Exer handles minor issues, I’d stay far away. There are plenty of other rental companies in Mykonos – this one’s not worth the risk.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. I paid 500 euros upfront for a car I never received. The company made promise after promise, delayed everything for weeks, and then completely stopped responding. No updates, no explanations — just silence.

It feels like I’ve been scammed, plain and simple. They took my money and disappeared. Customer service is a joke — if you’re lucky enough to get a reply, it’s either copy-paste nonsense or false promises that “your car is on the way.” Spoiler: it’s not.

This isn’t just bad service — it’s theft. If you’re reading this and thinking of doing business with them, don’t. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the frustration. Companies like this should not be allowed to operate.

I’ll be reporting them to consumer protection authorities, and I recommend anyone else in this situation do the same.

I rented a car from Exer Car Rental – Mykonos Airport from May 26–30, 2025. Upon returning the car, I was shocked to discover that they charged me the entire €500 deposit — without providing any explanation, invoice, or proof of damage repair.

There was a minor scratch on the bumper caused by a hotel gate malfunction – not due to reckless driving or negligence. The scratch was cosmetic and not structural. Still, Exer took the full deposit without notice or communication.

I tried reaching out multiple times via email to support@exercars... info@exercars.... and their support platform. No one replied.

This company’s behavior is unprofessional and feels predatory, especially toward foreign tourists. I have now submitted a formal complaint to the European Consumer Centre (ECC Greece).

Avoid renting from Exer. There are many other rental companies in Mykonos that are honest and transparent.

Wow, this was a once in a lifetime experience. To sum it up:

- Car was prepaid in full, incl. insurances and taxes.
- On arrival in Miami, at some scrappy backyard carpark, Exer wanted to charge me a 1000 dollars extra for all kinds of stuff, excluding 400 dollars token rent for toll (!), but including additional insurance and the rental of the car, which was already paid for (and yes, I know exactly how it works with insurance).
- I called the intermediary EconomyBookings to intervene, and waited for 20 minutes while they had an argument on the phone with Exer management.
- That same Exer management refused to talk to me in person though, but hid behind the desk employee instead.
- The intermediary then advised me to NOT pay, because it was a scam. So I went back to the airport with my two small children, trying to find alternatives.
- The printed Exer 'bill' I wanted to take was ripped out of my hand, because they did not want me to take it. I managed to take a picture of it and used it as evidence to get my money back.
- Now here we are, 6 weeks later. Today I heard the intermediary (EconomyBookings) is going to compensate me in full.

However, I felt obliged to warn others for EXER. Some people may have a good experience, but that is only a cover up for these kind of ripp offs.

Btw, I managed to rent a car at Sixt the next day, and paid even less.

Be carefull with the details! I was travelling with a group of more than 10 people, all had rent cars from several companies and the price was about the same except this incident: I had booked a car with "full insurance" through the site economycarrentals. When I was to pick up the car I was informed that either they would bind 900 euros from my credit card or I should pay 100 euros more for insurance. Additionally, the car had more than 47.000 km on its counter...

Una verdadera ESTAFA
En mi último viaje, alquilé un coche para una semana.
Tengo un retraso en el vuelo de 2h y cuando llego a la oficina, sorpresa, mi coche es alquilado a otro usuario! Antes de alquilar el vehículo, te piden el número de vuelo, así que pueden saber si el vuelo ha llegado o no, pero ni con esas..
Me argumentan que como no me he presentado, que pierdo mi coche... Les comento si me pueden dar otro y le dicen que ya no les quedan más coches 😳
Lo que conlleva que tengo que coger en otra empresa otro coche y sumar el coste.
El bróker (enjoy-travel) que me lleva el alquiler,intento contactar con él durante UNA SEMANA y me contesta que se haga cargo la compañía y tras explicar la situación, a día de hoy, sigo esperando sus respuesta, que básicamente, es darme largas!
En fin, no recomiendo ninguna de las 2 empresas.
