To all potential customers - Do not attempt to refinance with Fairway - they practice discriminatory lending practices and are not to be trusted. I followed Chris Valenzuela and his PowerHouse team to this company and he told me nothing but lies and eventually I ended up re-financing with a reputable company elsewhere with greater savings and with professionalism. Beware - stay away from this company as I have reported them to the State of Arizona for discriminatory lending practices and deceit.

I'm 60 and in my entire life never worked with anybody so crude and inept. Though he was so smart he would lie to us while the realtor confirmed he was lieing.

Got conditional approval late October to contract for a townhouse. I MADE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR THE COMPLEXITY OF MY CONTRACT. I spelled out it was "Cash to Close", my wages were net so needed to be "GrossedUp", and I was applying for grants as it was clear I could quailify for several. Add to that the process had to be done manually. I'm the customer and I understood the work.

They were so inept they never saw it. We got thru the grant November 12th and that was it. Died. They did absolutely nothing when they saw everything that needed to be documented for underwriting.

Now coming up on closing I get the call it ain't ready. Not only that the excuses certifications were needed. I'm the customer I came to get a job done.

It was excuses into early December as they drug it out for nearly 2 months. Ultimately the sellers walked off because they had no interest in finishing what was committed to.

My awesome realtor, Tyler Ranke, with Keller Williams, recommended Nicole Gabbard with Fairway Independent Mortgage to help me with my mortgage needs. Like all the advice I got from my agent, it was the best advice. I heard getting a mortgage was going to be one of the most stressful and difficult things I’ve ever done. Not true.
Nicole was my friend, counselor, and biggest cheerleader. Her team is awesome. Getting a mortgage was nothing like I heard it would be, Nicole made it so easy. When I made an offer on my dream house, I was already pre approved and through the underwriting process. Oh and I bought my home in Western NY, from my previous apartment in Washington State. That is how good at this Nicole and her team at Fairway are. I 100% felt as if her advice was in my best interest vs just closing a deal.
I’m writing this review from my beautiful home and not an apartment. My dog has his own yard! I love this house, I’ve been here 9 months and I love it more every day. Nicole Gabbard will never know the incredible, amazing thing she did for me, it’s her job. For me, it was completely life changing in all the best ways. I’ll never be able to thank her enough.
If you want to buy a home or refinance, I 100% recommend Nicole Gabbard and her team. Getting a mortgage was not stressful, not when you have someone who is available, incredibly knowledgeable and willing to talk you through every single step.

My experience with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation was disappointing due to their negligence and failure to uphold ethical standards during the FHA loan process. While I expected professional guidance, I encountered serious issues that caused financial and emotional stress.

Failure to Ensure FHA Compliance:
Fairway approved my FHA loan despite the property not meeting FHA Minimum Property Standards. The inspection report identified safety hazards, including ungrounded electrical outlets, missing GFCI plugs, and leaky pipes. Fairway failed to verify that the required repairs were completed before closing, leaving me with over $30,000 in out-of-pocket repair costs.

Document Falsification:
At closing, the HUD Addendum was missing from the document package. Five days later, Fairway sent the document to me via DocuSign, but it was backdated to the closing date. This raises serious concerns about document integrity and compliance with FHA and federal regulations.

Dismissive and Misleading Responses:
When I raised these issues with Fairway, their responses were dismissive, and they failed to take responsibility for the mishandling of my loan. They also provided inaccurate information in their response to my CFPB complaint, claiming that I had signed the HUD Addendum during closing, which is demonstrably false.

Fairway’s negligence and unethical practices left me financially burdened and emotionally drained. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation to anyone seeking a reliable or ethical mortgage lender.

I recently inquired with Mr. Jeramy Williams last week about mortgage options. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful concerning my options. He informed me of the advantages/disadvantages per certain loan types. Once I'm in contract, I will be seeking his services. Top notch experience!!!

I have been in the mortgage business for 20+ years and have never in my wildest dreams believed that there could be a company of 7000 employees that felt like one big family with one focus... valuing individuals. Not just the people we serve, but also the people we work with. Steve Jacobson and the leadership have done well to protect the environment we work in and it shows in the way we respond to our friends/clients. The S. Ogden Branch -Utah is a perfect example of the larger organization. We help build each others business rather that compete with each other. Brenda Stoney is a fantastic leader and manager.
