Arriving in Falmouth en route to the Scillys, a terrible rumbling noise below suddenly started on turning on the engine. Asking around I was put in touch with Falmouth Boat Co. and immediately an engineer came over to investigate. One of the cast iron engine mounts had fractured and the other three were on their way out. The company immediately located parts for my 35 year old Moody 336 and over the course of the next few days replaced all mounts and realigned the engine and shaft in a most efficient, professional and very friendly manner. I could not have wished for more in the circumstances!

Having recently bought a good Starlight 35 I wished to restore the boat to top condition, at 82 this was to be the boat to see me out as it were, much work had already been done but the gelcoat from the gunwales up and the cockpit were spoiled by unsightly gel coat crazing, which showed as very fine black lines, no amount of "cleaning" by me by way of rubbing compound rectified the crazing. I therefore decided to give the work to Falmouth Boat Construction having been advised by others of the quality of their work. My only regret being that I should have waited until the end of this season rather than having the work done immediately since the job took rather longer than originally thought, but my, oh my what a magnificent job they have done. All gel coat crazing removed and then resprayed with “AWLGRIP Awlcraft 2000 in snow white. Sarie Marais looks like a new boat!
