Good but not fantastic

Have ordered from Farmison for the past few years and always had a great experience. This year has had a few hiccups in terms of the delivery being delayed and lack of communication. However we did speak to customer service and were helpful. Turkey arrived today with no issue. After looking at the recent reviews we do feel like one of the lucky ones and may not use the company next year. I think better communication regarding the takeover and possible delays has really effected the reputation of the brand.

Customer services have left the building.

Email received on the 22nd Dec stating delivery would be one day late (fair enough), but no mention of part of the order missing (£30) and the 8 bone pork joint (£68.00) replaced with a rolled pork belly (£42). Emails are bouncing back and customer services not answering. This order was placed mid November.
Update 12/01/2026: Farmison has now apologised and refunded in full.

Terrible company, avoid!!

Ordered our christmas meal with Farmison.

Was advised a few weeks ago that the pheasant wouldn't be available and would be refunded. Disappointing but fair enough given the notice.

My delivery arrived on the 23rd December without the other main item and just a couple of accompaniments that I had ordered for convenience. No notification, nothing. Thanks, you've just ruined Christmas dinner!

On emailing a fairly cold response was sent along the lines of 'whoops, yep it should have been in there, we'll refund and get on'

I can't actually believe that they think this is ok. The main features of the order gone I would have cancelled the order,I certainly wouldn't have been paying £10 to have a few pigs in blanket and some gravy sent to my house.

I actually used this company 2 years ago and had a similar experience which made me think 'never again' ... why did I not listen to myself??

So like many here I’ve ordered from…

So like many here I’ve ordered from farmisons for years and usually spend 200-300 quid every Xmas for the meat for our meal.

I usually place this order end of October beginning of November and schedule it for the 23rd.

Unfortunately this year on the 23rd I hadn’t recieved any confirmation of delivery. So I sat in a queue in an attempt to get someone to answer the phone eventually I got through.

Got told two of the items weren’t available, which is fine but was only told this because I called and they must of known of this months in advance. And someone would call me back.

A few hours later I got a text from fed ex saying they have my parcel and will attempt delivery tomorrow. No call back, hopefully it comes but considering farmisons has always prided itself on customer service the service received this year will cause me to go elsewhere for all future important meal purchases.

We pay a premium for quality meat and solid customer service, and this time (probbly the most important one) it has failed miserably. it’s sad to see such a great company go so far downhill.

AVOID this shockingly awful company at all costs.
Ordered my turkey and Xmas meat for today, then get an email from fedex telling me it’s going to be delivered tomorrow. Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to find out what’s going on with my order only to be told half of it’s out of stock so won’t be delivered. No emails, no apology…absolutely shocking, now got to dash to the shops to by turkey etc

Oh dear, unfortunately another negative review for your company.
We’ve used Farmison for the last 6 years with no issues and good quality food. I can only presume that the takeover by Donald Russell is the result of the incredible poor customer service we’ve experienced with this Christmas order.
Our order was meant to come today, 23rd December. Had no correspondence regarding dispatch/tracking/delays. Extremely difficult to get in touch with customer service, after approx 8 attempts after being on hold for 15 minutes at a time then cut off, call was answered- Hoorah! Only to be told by the very nice & apologetic lady that she worked for Donald Russell not Farmison and could only see our order like us and was unable to help. She said she would get someone to call us. Still waiting. Can only imagine what her work day has been like today. No wonder they don’t want to answer the phone!
FedEx have text us about 2pm to say they have received the parcel (still in Aberdeenshire, so obviously has only been dispatched on the day of delivery) and it should be with us by 6pm tomorrow. Well it’s too late, we won’t be here to receive the delivery and to be honest from other reviews, haven’t got much faith that it’ll turn up at all before Christmas. Looks like a phone call to our credit card company to retrieve a refund because if contacting customer services is anything like today then we don’t hold out much hope!
Will support our local butchers in the future. We won’t be using Farmison/Donald Russell again. Very disappointed.

Not happy!!

Not happy!!! Ordered my turkey beginning of December to be delivered yesterday and had delivery confirmation but not for my address!! God knows where my turkey is! And can not get hold of them. Iv bought from Farmisons every year and this year I noticed the website didn’t have everything and sold out of most products end of November and didn’t restock! Always been able to contact the company in the past but no answer to calls emails and messages! Very poor service this year! I won’t be shopping with them again! And as of yet no turkey and no refund! Farmisons have gone down hill.

Christmas Disaster

Ordered all of the meat for a family Christmas dinner. Disappointed and frustrated that half the order was cancelled at the end of November. Furious that the order arrived with yet more missing which had to be replaced last minute.

Refunds issued. A few words of apology. Nothing for the stress and hassle.

Will never use again.

Awful

Awful. Ordered for Christmas in October. Told they would be delivered on the 22nd, then the 23rd and on the 23rd itself told they couldn't fufill the order at all.
Who does this. I have used Farmison before and never been disappointed with the meat.
This is the last time, like many other people, I have to go back out in the shopping rush to buy what was not delivered. I will not use them ever again.
Appalling customer service, they must have known they couldn't fufill these orders long before they told customers.

Xmas delivery arrived late , bits missing . Absolutely hopeless customer service

How Farmisons' stole christmas

Yet another tale of awful customer service and non supply of a Christmas order by Farmison.

Order originally scheduled for delivery on Saturday 20th Dec - it didn't turn up, no one answering the phones at Farmison and no reply to my email's (apart from the standard "we have received your e mail and someone will be in touch")

A box did turn up on Monday 22nd however 3 of the 5 items ordered were missing including the Christmas day centrepiece - an 8 bone rack of pork.

More emails to customer service have been ignored and the phone lines just ring out for 15 minutes before you are automatically informed they are very busy and you should try later; You are then simply cut off.

On the basis of all the other one star reviews all echoing a similar story i will be writing to Trading standards Aberdeen and also the royal warrant holders association to highlight my concerns about Donald Russell's trading practices.

Needless to say i won't be using Farmison & Co - or Donald Russell again.

You don’t let people down on Christmas…

You don’t let people down on Christmas and expect your company to survive! I like everyone else on this have been left stranded after placing an order months before Christmas. DPD don’t have any thing for me (as Farmison have not given it to them). Not a small order £350 taken and paid extra for morning delivery - it’s now the afternoon and there is no responses on mails or phones from them. I’ve gone to Sainsbury’s and got my full order at half of what I was paying Farmison but how dare they mess people around at Christmas! RIP Farmison - I’ve been a customer for years but am done! I am telling friends and family similar - this is not the company it once was. Shame

Another lost customer

Used Farmison for a few years and delighted- unfortunately they have lost the plot.
Delivery of a xmas turkey set for 12/22- passed on to Donald Russel butchers - Fed ex claim attempted delivery on 23rd but not true chased for 3 hours now coming at 12 noon on 24th for a 5 pm dinner - there ya go Farmison never say you can, take the the £350 and then dont. Lost customer !!!!

Shocking Xmas delivery service and zero customer care.

Ordered Christmas order to arrive on 23rd. Got an email evening of 22nd to say it would be delayed until 24th. But I will be travelling this day and the plan was to have this cooked and ready to take on the road to eat when arriving at destination. Have had to go out and buy more stuff from supermarket. I've emailed them twice and called only to be told someone will call me back. This is shocking considering it's a Christmas order. I won't be ordering from them ever again. This would be the first xmas order since they were bought by a larger company. Maybe standards have dropped.

Very disappointing Christmas service

Like everyone else, I ordered a while ago for Christmas. I was expecting delivery on Saturday, then Monday, now today. Still nothing from the courier. I am going shopping.

Thanks for ruining the first Christmas I had both my kids with me since my divorce 10 plus years ago.

I have had good experience in the past but won't be using again.

Update - everything finally arrived 10am 24th December so 5 days late. To my amazement, everything was included though I had already bought a few of the items so will have plenty for tomorrow. The bird is a bit frozen but should defrost in time. They threw in a couple of steaks too so we'll have those today. Some of the products were marked Farmisons, the box and steaks were Donald Russell. Not sure it changes my mind but it did get here in the end.

Ordered in October for delivery on 20th…

Ordered in October for delivery on 20th December. Now the 23rd and no sign of it. Emailed and messaged via WhatsApp but no response, just a general email saying they will answer queries as soon as they can. Tried to phone, no one picked it up.
So, have to claim a refund and go shopping now.

Christmas order not arrived

Ordered Christmas turkey, bacon, sausages to be delivered 22nd Dec. It never arrived and still hasn’t arrived (23rd) and Farmison have not responded to my email or WhatsApp’s. Will not be ordering from them again.

Missing items not refunded

Reading some of the other reviews here, I was lucky in that most of my £200 order placed in October did arrive but it was confirmed in full on the 14th December and has just been delivered minus the Giant Nidderdale Pig in Blanket. Granted it's only £15 but confirming then disappointing AND not answering the telephone is not acceptable. Another customer lost for the business.
