We had the BEST time foragaing for a hen do in January. Of course we had a few concerns that we wouldn't be able to find anyone to do a private course near where our hen do house was OR we wouldn't be able to find anything to forage but I couldn't have been more wrong. Forage Box came to the rescue. They had great communication over email and gave all the options we needed. They paired us with George Fred who found a common 10 minutes away from our accommodation which he had done a quick tour of before the class started so we could go to all the best spots - 6 mushrooms and plenty of other interesting finds (sorrell, oak gall, ewe trees etc). He was so knowledgeable and totally got the vibe of the hen do. The price was very reasonable £35 pp for 15 hens paid in advance and when more hens arrived on the day (prearranged in advance) we paid £30 pp after. An amazing event and something totally different. Huge thumbs up from all of us even if it was a little chilly on the day - time to warm up in the hot tub with some prosecco! Big thanks to Jim who arranged everything and it was so professional. Have already recommended multiple times since and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Due to my screen freezing during my voucher purchase I ended up buying two vouchers by accident. I immediately sent an email to the company explaining my predicament. By the next day my second voucher had been reimbursed. I was super impressed at their efficiency. I bought the foraging experience for my friend but I’ll probably join her. Sounds fun.

I'm delighted at all the facts we learnt about nettles, fungi, red berries and apples (plus lots more) that our informative and very personable guide Joel gave us on our two hour walkaround at Rother Valley Park, near Sheffield.

I could have listened to Joel for hours. I most certainly will be going on another guided Foraging session with Forage Box soon. Thank you.

Really enjoys getting out on an autumn day and learning more about foraging. Jim was super passionate and clearly knows his stuff. I love that he brought little samples of cooked up forgaed things to taste and it was good that he also talked about the ethics and legalities of foraging. There is nothing more I would have wanted from the session - looking forward to going again in a different season. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful Foraging Taster Walk with Joel through Graves Park in Sheffield. It’s amazing what you discover when you’re with someone who really knows their stuff. Joel was really engaging and hugely knowledgeable. He also engaged really well with the kids on the walk who were totally impressed! Highly recommend a trip with Joel!

Had a lovely morning out learning foraging ID tips in Frodsham Forest. Rachel was really informative and knowledgable.

Brilliant foraging session at Holker Hall. Lots of finds, some edible, some definitely not! Jim was very knowledgeable, an excellent group leader, and a great cook for our delicious wild nibble. We'll be booking another session for sure!

We had a really interesting and informative day. Jim, our guide, was knowledgeable and approachable. The snack he cooked up from our finds was delicious. I couldn't fault the experience.

I got in touch with Jim at forage box for help organising a private foraging workshop for my best friend's hen party. We wanted to do a 'Hen of the Woods' because the bride to be loves foraging and spending time outdoors! Jim paired us with the wonderfully talented Izzy Johns (@rightsforweeds) who was incredible and made the day so special and different for everyone. With a heady mix of folklore, stories, group discussions, tasting and learning it was an unforgettable day even though we had torrential rain throughout! Izzy is a truly special person and incredibly knowledgable. You could tell she took so much care in organising the day and even finished with a delicious selection of homemade treats made with foraged ingredients. We also started the rather damp walk with some hot dandelion root coffee which was surprisingly tasty and chocolatey. Thank you Jim and Izzy for making this event the hen party of our dreams!

I attended a 5 hour Forage & Feast event led by Jim at Alderley Edge - a beautiful woodland location which was easy to find.
I learnt so much and the time just flew! - Jim has such a wealth of knowledge and his approachable style encouraged participation and questions which made the event really enjoyable.
The feast at the end of the day was incredibly varied and so tasty! I will definitely be attending another event. Thank you.

Very knowledgeable guide (Lewis) aided by his partner. Able to convey his passion for foraging in a totally respectful way for nature and other wildlife. Gave over and above of his time. Great tasting of food on the way round and plenty of snack at the end of the session

We loved this 2 HR introduction to foraging. Jim was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience interesting and entertaining. Would definitely recommend this company.

The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Jim was friendly, professional and very experienced in the field of foraging. The session was interesting, informative and clearly explained throughout. I learnt so much during the three hour Coastal Forage and Cook and as a foodie, will definitely be including examples of what we found into my cooking at home. It had been a while since I had visited Arnside and it was the perfect setting for the event.
The weather was kind to us and as we made our way along the beautiful coast, Jim stopped at intervals and explained in detail exactly what we were looking for showing us examples before tasting and it was lovely to share the experience with like minded people. I loved the cooking part and working together to cook and enjoy our mornings' gatherings.
I have been interested in foraging for a while and wanted to learn more about the bounty that nature has to offer.
The event was well orgainised and the location was very easy to find.

An absolutely GREAT and inspiring event run with enthusiasm, insight and great knowledge on the principles and ethics of foraging. We learnt how to identify 6 foraged plants and Jim used his group skills to coordinate 16 interested and inspired folk to cook a delicious meal enhanced by a couple of tasty treats from Jim's own kitchen. All in all a superb event!
