Had issue with fuel charge and have had to call 3-4x to try and get a resolution. Still no call back. Thought $112 rt Murrells Inlet to Georgetown fuel charge was not correct. Who knows? No one seems to want to address my question/concern.

We were members of Freedom Boat Club for about five years, and overall it was a very good experience with one significant drawback that ultimately led us to cancel our membership.

First, the positives. The staff at every dock we visited were outstanding. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. The boats were generally in excellent condition, and the docks were clean and well maintained. Over five years, we only had one or two minor issues with boats being unavailable due to maintenance, which is completely understandable. Boats are mechanical, and things happen. Having owned my own boat for years, I know that comes with the territory.

One of the biggest advantages of the club is convenience. You don't have to worry about fueling, cleaning, maintenance, or repairs. You simply reserve a boat, show up, enjoy your day on the water, and hand the keys back when you're done. There are also multiple locations throughout Cape Coral and Fort Myers, along with reciprocal access around Florida and the rest of the country.

The only issue, and it's a major one, is availability during peak season. From roughly December through April, when Southwest Florida weather is absolutely perfect for boating, it becomes extremely difficult to reserve a boat. In many cases, you need to book two to three weeks in advance just to secure one. The problem is that no one knows what the weather will be like that far ahead. You might reserve a boat weeks in advance only to have a windy or rainy day, while the beautiful sunny days in between are fully booked.

During the summer months, when it's hot, humid, and afternoon thunderstorms are common, getting a boat is usually no problem. But during the cooler months, when the weather is ideal and you most want to go boating, availability is so limited that spontaneous trips are nearly impossible.

In our opinion, the club simply has too many members for the number of boats available during the busiest season.

If you're someone who plans far in advance or primarily boats during the summer, Freedom Boat Club can be a fantastic option. The staff, boats, and facilities are all top-notch. But if your goal is to take advantage of those perfect Southwest Florida winter days whenever the mood strikes, be prepared for some frustration.

We appreciate the excellent service we received over the years, but in the end, the scheduling limitations during peak season made the membership no longer worth it for us.

Been with the south Florida location for years and love it. Great value with good people. Haven’t used the reciprocal benefits yet but so many locations yet to try. Very happy with our experience

I have been a member for at least 10 years. . Terrific club locally and I have done many reciprocals. They treat you like you are their members. Boats are clean before and after usage . Reasonable boats and the staff is superb !! Friendly , welcoming and full of tips . There aren’t many corporate structures except for AMEX who are member friendly like they are . They seem both locally and corporately can’t do enough for you ! I have never been disappointed except the few times when nothing is available . They can’t pull a boat out of air , but they do try !
It’s not like owning your own boat but it can be close to it ! I gave them 5 stars and it’s too bad I can give them 10. Pay for gas and generously tip the dock guys and you are done for a great day !

Don’t waste your time with this club. They are not seriously looking for new members as I was on the verge of joining and the representative Maurice stood me up at the dock. We previously had arranged to meet at the Miami Beach marina the only one day he was available in the tight window of 2-6 pm . I confirmed that day early morning I will be visiting around 5 pm and he confirmed with a “sounds good”. When I showed up, slightly late but previously informed, at 5:25pm he ghosted my calls and said “he left already because he thought no one was coming”. I had been responsive the entire week and confirmed the same day. He also add “go and see the boats and check if you like them”It is extremely unprofessional to waste people’s time in that manner.
Btw, the office was closed before 5:30 pm not 7 pm like google shows.
