Poor communication causing serious delay
I am the seller of a property in Taunton where the buyer is represented by Freers Askew Bunting Solicitors / freersaskewbunting.com, Hartlepool office.
For over three weeks, there appears to have been little or no meaningful communication from the buyer’s solicitors, either to my solicitor or, as I understand it, to the buyer herself. This has delayed the transaction and is now causing unnecessary cost, uncertainty and frustration.
Today I telephoned the firm and spoke to “Marie” on reception. I was told that nobody was willing to speak to me or provide any information. I appreciate that I am not their client and that there are confidentiality limits, but they were not even willing to take my telephone number or pass on a message.
Based on this experience, I would be very cautious about relying on this firm for a conveyancing transaction where timely communication is important.

Having reached out to the senior director Mr Andrew Dixon, we did get some movement but for the past week it has gone quiet again. I understand that Aimee McAllister, a paralegal and trainee is handling the case for the buyer. No date has been proposed for exchange of contracts and the buyer and I are getting very frustrated and it is costing us money. This is not a company you want to be dealing with if you want speed and efficiency and being kept up to date with regular communication.

As of today's date, more than a week has gone by with no update from Freers Askew Bunting. This is a very slow solicitor to be dealing with which is costing me money as every unnecessary day delayed goes by.
