Excellent and Ethical Hosting Company
Been with Freethought for at least 15 years with a basic reseller account to host various websites, after a shocking experience with another company prior to that. What you really want with a host is to never really have to think about it, and I can only think of a few times over many years where there was any downtime - and this was resolved quickly. I've rarely had to contact support, but when I have it's been quick, friendly and helpful, even when sometimes it's been more due to my own lack of knowledge than a hosting issue. For the very reasonable annual cost of the plan, this is the kind of service you want. I also appreciate their ethical and carbon neutral efforts, which align with my own values.
Sometimes you need a helpdesk...
I needed something that was slightly outside the normal but would make my life a whole lot easier. Once your team understood the “why” they made it happen. I’ve been a happy client for many years and, occasionally, needed to call on the support team – Whenever I have, the response has been immediate, thoughtful, very helpful and they only closed the ticket when they were sure the issue was resolved.
No first line “Have you seen our FAQs?” or AI-assisted ChatBot here – just a human. When something goes wrong and I’ve needed assistance (perhaps a configuration at my end, not theirs) I cannot say how reassuring it is to know they will jump in to help.
I’ve been a client for 6 years and can’t recommend them highly enough.

Dealing with true friendly experts
As a self-employed consultant I have to deal with a fair number of organisations in the internet world, such as ISPs and mobile phone companies, and getting help from them is never as easy as they'd like us to think. Indeed many make is really hard to contact helplines and customer services and, worse, in some cases the people who eventually deal with issues lack true expertise. Well I started to use Freethought a few years ago when seeking a way of having a personal domain and from the first request I found them first-rate. Recently I wanted technical help regarding having mail boxes for my domains as it wasn't clear how I'd get my emails onto my PC. Suffice it to say that one of their top staff literally spent almost an hour on the phone explaining line by line what to do. They're also available 24-hours a day and emails receive a response within minutes. I have never had such good service before and can thoroughly recommend their expertise and friendliness.

Freethought have been such a nice company to work with, I have used a few hosting companies over the past 25 years and the team at Freethought are by far the most personal to work with.
They were recomended to me and I would recomend them to anyone.

Top customer service
I have used freethought for several years for our hosting company. They have helped resolve several issues promptly and offer a high level of support as well as providing in-depth knowledge. They just recently restored a backup for me during the weekend due to a malware attack and cannot fault their assistance in this matter. Would certainly not hesitate to use their services in the future & would recommend them fully.
Hard to beat...
I have been using Freethought Internet for website and domain name hosting for at least 10 years. I am not their best customer by a long shot, but that never seems to matter; the service is always excellent.
I have some tech knowledge, but I have also made some really dumb mistakes from which the guys and girls at Freethought have efficiently and patiently rescued me. And even when I flag a regular query as 'low priority', it is usually answered within an hour, if not minutes.
For price, professionalism and personal service, it would be hard to beat this company.

I have been with Freethought for many years, but they keep being amazing. Their tech service goes above and beyond, not just to solve the immediate problem (and these come from me, not them) but also tackling the wider issues to make sure I get it right in the future. Also, their hosting is rock-solid and their prices are extremely reasonable. I have zero fault to find. Twenty stars!!

Not only a great hosting service, but also a superb support desk. Can't recommend them highly enough. They solve all my issues quickly and thoroughly. They just make everything easy. I also like their ethical stance. It's why I chose them, and they they live up to their credo. I have never had a single problem with Freethought. They are good people.
