“Unprofessional, Careless, and Blaming Everyone Else”

The workmanship at the Gerber Collision on Vivion Rd in Kansas City is beyond unacceptable — it’s astonishingly careless. The body work on my vehicle looked like it was done by someone with zero professional skill. Honestly, leaving the dents untouched and spraying paint over them would have been a noticeable upgrade compared to what I got.

When I asked about their so‑called “warranty,” they immediately dodged responsibility. Instead of owning their sub‑par work, they blamed a “manufacturer defect” on a brand‑new vehicle. That excuse alone tells you everything about their standards and their integrity.

I regret not trusting the negative reviews. This place proved every single one of them right. I’ve already warned friends, family, and anyone who will listen to avoid this location entirely. The experience was so bad that I would have chosen almost any other inconvenience over dealing with this shop.

If you value your time, your money, or your vehicle, do yourself a favor: read the bad reviews, believe them, and take your business somewhere that actually respects its customers.

Rude, lying and terrible communicators

Terrible communicators at the Odessa Florida location. Incompetent when it comes to ordering parts and terrible when it comes to checking to make sure all and correct parts have arrived. Staff is rude and lies about completion date 4 times in 10 days. Unorganized.

9 out 0f 10 calls goes directly to voicemail. Manager says she will check and call back and then you never hear from her.

the best service ever

VERY QUICK, BEAUTIFUL WORKMANSHIP, AND FRIENDLY SERVICE.
This is the second car that i had Gerber repair. The first car was 20 years ago and i never forgot what a great job they did for me.

We had our van repaired by Gerber Collision and glass recently and it was a wonderful experience. Our vehicle looks like new, the inside detailing refreshed our van, the communication between us and their office was friendly and respectful. All of the financial details were worked out between Gerber and our insurance.

100% lifetime warranty is not true

100% lifetime warranty is not true. It has been almost 1 year since Gerber repaired damage to my Kia K5 after being rear ended. The passenger trim that was replaced has now faded/peeled off drastically (front original trim is good) on one of the sides they replaced. They replaced right and left side silver trim around window. They said they can not cover this because the vendor they purchased trim from is no longer in business. So we are left with the damaged trim due to no fault of ours...no warranty due to their vendor going out of business. :(

Gerber Collision is an absolute…

Gerber Collision is an absolute nightmare. If you value your car, your time, or your sanity, stay far away. Their incompetence is staggering — the repair took weeks longer than promised, and when I finally got my vehicle back, it looked worse than when I dropped it off. Panels were misaligned, paint was uneven, and basic issues were ignored.

The worst part? Their sloppy work left me driving a car that felt unsafe, literally risking my life because of their negligence. No one should have to wonder if their vehicle is roadworthy after paying a “professional” shop.

The staff couldn’t care less. Communication was nonexistent unless I chased them down, and when I pointed out obvious problems, they brushed me off with excuses. It’s clear they prioritize cutting corners over doing the job right.

This place is a joke masquerading as a repair shop. Save yourself the headache and the danger — go literally anywhere else. Gerber Collision should be embarrassed to call themselves professionals.

The front bumper looks like it was slapped on with glue, not mounted, not aligned, not professionally installed just glued, like a shortcut you’d expect from someone who didn’t care at all about doing the job right.

The front camera and radar system were handled so irresponsibly it’s honestly shocking. Instead of reinstalling the components where they actually belong, it looks like they drilled random, sloppy holes just to force the camera into place. It’s the kind of work that makes you question whether they paid attention to a single factory guideline.

And on top of everything else, the radiator was left damaged after their “repairs,” which is not only unacceptable—it could have caused serious, expensive, long-term harm to the vehicle if I hadn’t caught it.

Based on everything I’ve personally seen, it doesn’t even look like they attempted to follow manufacturer standards, industry norms, or basic repair competence. The entire job comes across as reckless, careless, and dangerously unprofessional. Their work didn’t just inconvenience me—it put the safety, performance, and structural integrity of my vehicle at risk in multiple ways.

Gerber Collision is the worst body shop…

Gerber Collision is the worst body shop in the area!!! All the employees are leaving, No one is coming in to get employed. Do not work here. All full of lies, low pay, long hours, managers are at best 1 out of 10, stress all day long, endless reports and meetings, toxic environment and all the micro-management included. Don't work for Gerber. Don't take your vehicle to Gerber to support corporations. Gerber doesn't care about the customer and lies just to keep vehicle. They take way to long to repair a vehicle.

It has been 4 weeks that we have been…

It has been 4 weeks that we have been waiting on an estimate to be sent to us. My husband has called numerous times and today went in as they told the insurance company they did not do the estimate. Of course they claimed they never said that. They REFUSE to give the estimate to my husband stating it has to be emailed. Manager will not return calls. This Fishers location IS AWFUL.

EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE

Gerber does not do Glass

Gerber does not do Glass, period. They will tell you their "sister company" (Glass America) does all their glass work. DO NOT use their online website to schedule glass repair work.

The staff and the quality workmanship…

The staff and the quality workmanship is beyond words. The pictures say it all. But also the efficiency with this service they provide is all 10's no 5's. EXCELLENT SERVICE

EXCELLENT

I came to the Gerber in La Grange, Illinois for an estimate to get the passenger side bumper reattached and I was told "give me your keys we'll give you a call in a short while"

It was fixed and I was home in less than 2 hours

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience! Took my vehicle on Thursday morning after making an appointment. They then never called, texted or updated. I had to call multiple times for an update. Then after 1 week, they stated that they would finally be getting to an estimate. Meanwhile I have been in a rental car and when they were told about this they were indifferent and casually quoted industry standards and that I was lucky to have their service. When they finally had an estimate, they called and asked if we wanted their estimate in a flippant and condescending manner. When they were then called to manage this and asked for a call back on multiple attempts, no call or text was returned. Finally had to pick up vehicle and they were again indifferent and even the GM Lindsay remained in her office, never apologized or sought to make amends. Overall a horrendous experience. We are now taking the vehicle to a reputable site. You would be better off going to a junkyard. By the appearances of the facility, I’m looking for Fred Sanford to come out! Disappointed!

DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY

DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY! Our truck went in for MINOR dents caused by the Hurricane 10k and now it is a total loss due to Gerbers negligence..(70k?) 🤔 The insurance company only wants to pay us for what the truck would be worth now...NOT the way it was brought in. They have lied to the insurance company and to us. They said the 2 inches of water and the inside COMPLETELY covered in mold was to to a windshield crack. Our truck did not have a windshield crack...then they tried and backtrack blaming it on the glass company saying maybe there was a gap when they took the windshield out. ( I'm hoping the glass company sees this and stops working with them.! ) When my husband went to retrieve keys from our truck there was so much mold and water the keys were rusted!! the top was off no windshield no plastic no cover Nothing! complete disregard for their customers personal property! The manager who is completely dismissive said it was covered...where? Where is the tape where is the plastic where are the plastic on the seats during tear down?? This company should NEVER BE USED!! Take your money and go elsewhere! Also if your insurance company says you need to use this body shop please DO NOT!! We have gotten the run around since DECEMBER and the stress it has caused from Gerber I wouldn't wish on my enemies! We have before and during pictures that tell a whole mother story!

Excellent job

Excellent job. so happy with my experience. Customer service was professional, good communication, friendly, and excellent work done on my car. They were very patient and pleasant whenever I called. My car was completed prior to the date they said it would be done.
