I received 2 giftcards in June, 2024, one for $100 and the other for $50, and my son received a gift card in December, 2024 for the amount of $50. We finally tried to activate the giftcards and they were all three used up. They were hacked! I emailed giftcardmall and they responded telling me that the rep, Andrea R. Andrea R. was committing to resolving the giftcard transaction. the dispute team, Karen A. from Blackhawk Network informed me that "because the transactions listed above have exceeded this 60 day time frame, we no longer have recourse to attempt to recover the funds from the merchant through the Card Network. Furthermore, we must abide by the Terms and Conditions enclosed with your card." She added, "We are unable to credit your account and will be closing this dispute at this time. Although we are not able to assist you further, you may pursue this matter directly with the merchant(s)." Really? When I have receipts and bank statements of my family purchasing the gift cards? I don't think so!!! This is $200 thrown out the window! Hacked! I would encourage others never to buy one of these horrible cards! They are NOT secure and the poor customer service doesn't care about helping you get your gift that your loved ones intended for YOU, not thieves! I'll be reporting this to the BBB and pursuing other legal matters.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Two $100 gift cards purchased, but both arrived with no funds. After a lengthy phone call, I was sent two replacement cards. However, when I checked them again, I found no funds loaded. I did not immediately reach out as I’ve been busy, but when I called today, I was informed that the cards had been used and the charges were outside the dispute window. This situation seems very suspicious – it’s hard to believe that the funds were suddenly used after I had already verified the cards. Overall, I feel this is a scam. While the customer service representatives were polite, the resolution was unsatisfactory and didn’t address the issue effectively. I would not recommend this service

I have used this site for several years, perhaps 7, with no problems whatsoever. Have issued cards as gifts and heard no complaints from recipients. When I did inquire about the card use, (3 or 4 times total), no one expressed any problems. I wish my track record of satisfaction with other service and manufacturing businesses was as notable. I have used other gift card providers - banks, credit card companies etc. - with basically the same satisfaction levels as my experience with GiftCardMall.com (GCM). It does give me pause, however, when I hear negative comments as tracked by your organization but I am also very aware of the myriad of GMC pretenders who scam the public. I will keep such reporting in mind for my future needs of such product(s).

This company is a scam. Activate card online, tried to use it online - declined, tried to use in store - declined. Called the number and person said the card is registered to a person and asked me to verify name and address. I said no, online activation didn't ask for that info so no card isn't registered to someone. They insisted it was and said I can't use it without verifying that info. Card is brand new, just activated. Company and employees should be in jail.

I bought a $200 Visa gift card from my local post office. I tried to use it at Walgreens, and then at Walmart, but it was declined both times. I realized that maybe I needed to register it, but when I went to the website to do so, it said that it was not a valid card. I tried to check the balance and it said the same thing. I double checked to make sure I was on the correct site, and I was. I called the number on the back, but it said it was an automated service, so I couldn't talk to anyone. I called the number on the website, and a message said that they could only help if I bought the card directly from the website. I am out $200, and there is no one who can help me get my money back or a new card issued.

I received several of these cards as gifts this year for Christmas. I activated them (that wasn't easy-but I did get it done). I went to use one-declined. Got home, checked balance (again not easy), all money used?! I have used two other cards with no issues. Their website is terrible. It hardly works and checking balances is hard. I've been blocked more than I've gotten through. I feel like I've had $200 stolen from me. I sent an inquiry, but have gotten NO response. Based on what I'm seeing here, I'm guessing this is how they work. I'm NEVER going to give one of these as a gift again.

I would give them a zero star rating if it were possible. Do not purchase a gift card from this vendor.
I received a gift card from my boss and was unable to activate it and it indicated that there were no funds on the card.
I have been communicating with Jose S. in their "customer service" department. There has been no resolution to my issue, and I have been told to consult with the person who gave me the gift card. I was told that the funds were refunded to the purchaser, but when I asked for additional information, such as when and at which store, I was met with "unfortunately, we have no additional information."
In other words, they are not at all interested in honoring the gift card and they are perpetuating a fraud.
UPDATE: Don't be fooled when they reach out and claim to want to rectify the situation. Despite being provided my contact information and indicating they would reach out by phone, the company has not. I continue to deal with Jose S. who has stonewalled my efforts at obtaining information. He simply indicates that the "activation" of the card was voided. And, has offered nothing other than that I must return to the purchaser for relief. They simply mark their issue as "resolved." This company is a complete sham.

I recently purchased a $200 gift card thru Amazon. Used it twice once for Door Dash and once for Amazon both totaled around $80. Went to use again and was surprised I couldn't. Called 888 524 1283 and was told only had .46. The transactions were odd transactions. They want me to send body picture of me holding my ID. Hell no!!! You scammed me once. Please be advised the card is like some heavy duty paper. Doesn't look like traditional gift card. Amazon is useless. Why is Amazon allowing these companies to scam us. I too will be filing FTC complaint and posting on any sites I can to help others from falling into this scam.

I purchased a $50.00 from a Wegman's Store in New York State on December 23rd. 2024, for Christmas Present.... The card was activated on January 8th. 2025 and on the same day, the money was pulled to an Immigration and Naturalization Service in Denver, Colorado, not by myself or my Son, to which the card was bought for... When he tried to use the card in New York State it was declined because of lack of funds..... I am very upset that this happened because I purchased the card for a Christmas Gift and the funds went to an organization that neither one of us approved the transaction for... I spoke with a Representative from Wegman's where I purchased the Visa Card, and I was told that nothing could be done on their end and that I needed to contact the 888 number on the back of the card... I have tried multiple times calling the number, but I haven't been able to talk to a live representative, so nothing has been done, yet the money is gone!!!

I received a $50 MC gift card from a friend. I tried to use on Amazon, it was declined. I looked up the website because when I called no one to talk to, they say go to the website. They ask for a zip code....got nowhere.
Went online, cannot activate, when I put the card numbers in, it showed a negative of $49.99 with a 1 cent balance. Really ridiculous! Have to question if this is all a scam up front.

You do not even deserve one star. People pay money to give these cards as gifts and you make it impossible for the gift holder to even use. Are you hoping they give up and then you can pocket the money after a year? You need a class action suit brought against you! This is ridiculous! You cannot register it, you cannot get ahold of anyone to try to help you, you try to buy something when it says it is registered but it keeps getting denied. You people suck and deserve to be shut down. I'm reporting you to the Attorney General's office regarding your illegal business habits!

This is the second gift card that I have received that the funs have been used fraudulently. This time on PayPal and it is clearly evident it is fraudulent as they took a $1 out first and larger amount the second time. Discovered this when paying for a purchase at the Mall. Called Customer Service and was on hold to close to 1 hour. Filled out the required paperwork required for the dispute. Received email back this morning stating that after "careful review" there was not enough evidence to reissue the funds back to me.
This is not acceptable!! I would like the company to do the right thing and replace the card with the value that was on it.
Will not recommend purchasing these Visa giftcards in the future. Too easy for scammers to steal your money!
** 2/16 - still no resolution. Keep getting weekly emails stating they are working on my case and to be patient. Giving a range of 30-90 days to resolve. **

Bought a 100$ Visa gift card to use online on 1/19/2025, But when I called to check the balance on 1/20/2025 it was all stolen, there was only .40 cents left on it. I email and called but I haven't gotten any reply back. the only information I got from calling was that it was spent on Ebay. It seems like there is a scam going around with these cards.
03/09/2025 I got my refund. The people at the call center were really nice, Its just that sometimes its hard to hear what they are saying. So lots of back and forth with emails and calling.

My experience is similar to others I've read on here.
Received a gift card for Christmas. Tried to use it several times and couldn't. Called Customer Service, who said the balance was already used up by a scammer. They promised to issue me a new card and then left me on a never-ending hold. This whole experience feels like a scam.

We received a $500 Christmas gift card from this company. After activation the card would not work even though I registered and saw the balance. After calling in we were told it was fraudulent registered and they wanted the receipt for this gift along with personal information from me. I am in my third phone call that goes into a looping hold then disconnection. This company is a scam, obviously and hate informing my gift giver.
EDIT - after 1.5 hours the last time on hold they say they will make it right with a reissue. We will know in 5-7 business days but it’s gone on for a month. Funny how that and the review coincided.

Received a 200.00-dollar visa gift card for Christmas. Through Jan 10th spent 150.. check balance on jan8th and it was .34 cents. Fraudulent charges 53.00. Tried for 3 days to contact someone at gift card mall and could not get through. The only thing I would get was their recordings. Total waste of time!!! Worst experience ever!!! I had a $200 giftcard & made a couple purchases totaling about $55. I checked my balance & still had around $145 on it. When I went to use it again, the next day, it was declined so I checked my balance, again & there was a fraudulent charge of $143. This company is awful & now I am out money I desperately need.

If I could give this crappy company no stars I would but unfortunately it won't allow me to do this. This has got to be the worst company ever. I've never ever been so frustrated with a company as I am with this one. This is my second card and it still does not work and then they have the nerve to tell me that I cannot use this card for certain purchases. What kind of a joke is that. The wait times to talk to someone for customer service is so ridiculously long. I could take a nap, wake up, take a shower and still will be waiting. I would never ever in my life recommend this crappy company to anyone. Please stay away from this company unless you love trouble.

I received as a gift and went to the website to check the balance (the amount was not on the card). The web site sent me to a blank page. I then called the phone number provided on the card and a recording referred me back to the useless website.
