Horrible company.
Sends letters to businesses trying to get them to swap to their Domain hosting platform, and charging 4x the amount. Implying they will lose access to their domain if they dont.
Complete scum.

These guys went to my website, which I host through another provider, and got my business address. They then sent me a “renewal” letter asking me to send them a cheque to “renew” my domain. They are not my provider! The letter was very deceptive and I could see people falling for it. This is NOT ok!!

Looks like a fake site. I verified with our domain registrar and it was not registered here. FRAUD written all the site.

SCAM. It is very unlikely that this company is your domain name provider. Do not pay them a cent.

I received a letter to my business about my domain getting ready to expire. They used scare tactics and misleading advertising by calling the letter a "Domain Name Expiration Notice" at the top in bold writing and making the rest look like a bill. The interest in misleading people into becoming customers through scare tactics demonstrates their horrible business ethics.

They tried sending this to our NPO and then I did some research because I knew this wasn't the company we were with, and then read all these reviews and know how bad this company is.

These sleazebags comb registrars like GoDaddy for public registrations and then contact owners close to the renewal date hoping to trick them into transferring their domains. Avoid at all costs.

They are not a real domain registrar. Do not pay them money.

Quite literally the worst customer service rep I've ever dealt with. The person behind the screen was so blatantly rude, I'm not even sure how these people are still in business. Wild

I got a letter that is a blatantly and intentionally deceptive and manipulative.

They send a very official-looking letter claiming renewal is required to keep your domain rights and now is the time to renew by transferring your domain (and paying an exorbitant sum). They mention needing to renew by the expiration date (which they fabricate as the one given was at least a year before mine expires). It all is intended to create an artificial sense of urgency and appears to be saying "your domain is about to expire, renew now to prevent losing it." They do give some disclaimers that you don't need to renew with them but, they draw attention to everything but that, and anyone skimming this on a busy schedule won't pick up on it.

The highly manipulative design combined with exorbitant prices makes this a scam.

As all of the above: Received a notice for renewal of my .com - not registered with them, not hosted with them, and the "renewal" process on giv.com appears to be just sending them money with no user identification or other information.

A scam for less technical and easily scared people.

I received a letter from this company which I have never heard of. The letter says "as a courtesy to domain name holders, we are sending you this notification of the domain name registration that is due to expire in the next few months. When you switch today to Domain Registry, you can take advantage of our best savings. Your registration for xxx.com will expire on May 29, 2021. Act today! You must renew your domain to retain exclusive rights to it on the Web..., failure to renew your domain name by the expiration date may result in a loss of your online identity making it difficult for your customers..."
Wonder how this company knew my domain is coming due.
I am with Go Daddy. I was confused when I first received this letter. Then I checked my account on line. I do have auto-renew set up with Go Daddy.
To obtain or steal people's account info without consent is a Scam.
People should never trust this company

Called about switching and the sales rep hung up on me. WOW terrible company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They send physical lettermail to people saying their domain is going to expire if they don't renew. By using lettermail they're clearly targeting less technical domain owners (i.e. small businesses) who don't understand how domains work.

Their prices are literally 5x the price of other registrars. There is no reason anybody should use them even if they are in fact telling the truth (which I'm skeptical of - there are reports that people who paid never even got the service).
