I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Go2Africa.

I was looking to arrange a solo retreat holiday to Madagascar and came across Constance Tsarabanjina on their website, where the advertised price was approximately £465 per night. As this appeared to be within the range I was looking for, I contacted Go2Africa to enquire about booking.

During the conversation, the consultant initially tried to steer me towards a safari, despite my making it clear that this was not what I was looking for. I specifically explained that I was interested in the hotel I had found on their website and asked for a quotation based on the advertised price. I also made it clear that I was happy to receive a quote and would then decide whether the overall cost was acceptable to me.

Instead of providing a quotation, I was asked about my budget. When I explained that I wanted to work from the price advertised on their own website and asked them simply to tell me what the holiday would cost, I was immediately told that we should work with a budget of $1,000 per person, per night.

At that point, I did not receive the quotation I had requested.

What I found particularly disappointing was the impression that I needed to disclose a significantly higher budget before I could even receive a price. In my view, if a property is advertised at a particular price, a prospective customer should be able to ask for a quotation based on that advertised information without first having to commit to a much higher budget.

This was the first time I have encountered this approach when dealing with a travel agency. I left the conversation feeling that the process was being driven by what the agency wanted to sell rather than by the holiday I had specifically requested.

I would therefore advise prospective customers to clarify the actual price and inclusions before relying on the prices displayed on the website. My experience did not match my expectations from the advertised offer, and ultimately I chose not to proceed.

A disappointing experience, particularly when I had approached the company with a very straightforward request.

We started to plan our safari in Botswana less that two months in advance, so I was hoping for an efficient, friendly and determined agent that would listen closely to our wishes and do their utmost to fulfill them in the relatively short space of time we had. Go2Africa fit the bill perfectly. Aside from helpfulness in all aspects of planning and preparation, the rather difficult matter of making an international payment in this amount was much facilitated by our main planning agent, Justin Chapman.
The personalized Go2Africa app was extremely useful before and during our trip.
The three camps in the Okavango Delta that we visited were all different, but we loved them all. Transfers and personnel were amazing every step of the way, not to mention food and accommodations. We especially appreciated our guides on the drives/boat safaris.
We can heartily recommend Go2Africa and would certainly use them again.

Jessica was also incredibly helpful in the beginning stage of selecting the SA region, the lodges, the activities from Cape Town to Madikwe. Both of them were always so kind and thoughtful, and their expertise gave us complete confidence every step of the way. We couldn’t have asked for better support!

Go2Africa created a seamless, varied and exciting itinerary for our 30 day Africa trip (Namibia, Zambia and Botswana - plus connections in Jo'burg). We called to book only 6 months in advance which we knew would have some accommodation limits. However, Corné was brilliant, first by clarifying what we wanted to experience, what level of lodging and budget we had, how we wanted to get around, etc. She set clear expectations (aka migrating wildebeest occur in a country we hadn't selected to go, ha ha!) and let us know how to make two trips for different sightings. She efficiently pieced together excellent accommodation throughout (we moved 8+ times), smooth transitions, and booked all the fab additions we ended up doing. We never once waited for anything or anyone she had booked.
The customer care by Rosie and the team before and during our trip was outstanding. Very swift and useful responses. We were never on our own. Rosie adjusted a couple things we requested while we were even on the trip.
Highly recommend Go2Africa for its expertise and service levels.

We are getting ready for our second trip to Africa with Go2Africa. Our first adventure was so fabulous that we are going right back. With the help of Sue and Maureen we had the perfect trip and are expecting to experience similar wonders in a flawless way just as before. We are excited to be headed there next week. Will write a review when we are back.

We are two days from our adventure and feel 100% prepared thanks to the staff at Go2Africa, especially Susan. It's a little scary traveling so far from home to a place where we are unfamiliar with the culture and customs. From the very first inquiry, Go2Africa responded completely to all our questions, making sure this trip would be worry free. I highly recommend them!

A wonderful multi-country experience with Go2Africa, thanks in particular to Tatham and Shandre. The selection of private concessions and lodges was excellent, the itinerary was perfectly optimized, and the logistics were flawless throughout.

The trip was flawless. Excellent teamwork by Lauren and Charlotte on the planning. Transfers were always present and timely. Lodging was first class. Communications were very good and the Go2Africa app was very informative.

We had a fantastic experience on our first African safari in Kenya and Tanzania. Every accommodation booked exceeded our expectations, and transfers and bush flights ran smoothly, which seems hard to do given the logistical complexities.
Lauren and Madelein were great partners in booking exactly what we wanted and answered all of my questions. They were both very helpful and wonderful to work with! We will be using them for our next African adventure.

The folks at Go2Africa recommended and organized an outrageously fantastic safari for my daughter and me. Every part of the trip was first-rate. Everything went smoothly. It was the experience of a lifetime.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!
We were impressed with Go2Africa’s slick website, and thought this company must be a reputable company. We booked a trip for 4 people and paid our approx. $30,000 USD deposit. Then Ebola hit and the US State Department issued its Level 4 (Do Not Travel) travel advisory. We canceled our trip 61+ days in advance of departure. That’s when this company’s true colors came out.

We asked Go2Africa to seek refunds from its travel “partners”, as its Terms and Conditions said it would do. We were told that absolutely no refunds would be offered by any of its “partners”, even if they were able to rebook the accommodations, tours, domestic flights, etc. and suffered no losses.

At the time of our booking, we were told that we must pay for our domestic flights up front (approx. $8,000 USD) because Go2Africa had to immediately book our flights. Many months later, Go2Africa admitted that the flights had not been booked and paid for by them.

After NUMEROUS hours of trying to reach a reasonable resolution of our cancellation and trying to avoid losing our approx. $30,000 USD deposit, Go2Africa told us that we could delay our trip for up to 11 months, BUT ONLY IF WE IMMEDIATELY PAID THEM AN ADDITIONAL approx. $56,000 USD and AGREED TO PAY THEM A “PRICE INCREASE” OF 10-15% (approx. $8,600 - $12,900 USD). We refused to give these people another penny and lost our deposit, less approximately $485 USD per person which they finally refunded to us. There are plenty of good reputable tour agencies around which offer African tours. Run, don’t walk, away from this outfit!

I STAND BY MY STATEMENT THAT YOU SHOULD STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!

My reply to Go2Africa:
As you may have noticed, Go2Africa did not mention their demand for us to give them another $56,000 USD plus a price increase of 10-15% if we wanted to delay our trip for up to 11 months. If payment of the outstanding balance on ALL trips is not due until 60 days before departure, why was Go2Africa demanding we pay the remaining balance of $56,000 USD immediately to preserve our option to reschedule a trip up to 11 months in the future? This is especially telling, when you consider they already had $30,000 USD of our money. Why, we ask?? Because they were holding our $30,000 USD ransom, trying to extort additional funds from us with their pressured sales tactics.

And why did Go2Africa initially tell us we had to pay $2,000 USD per person up front for airfare if, as they now admit, they only had to pay $485 per person for our airfare??? We were told by Go2Africa that the airfare had not been paid for. Now they are saying they paid $485. Their “explanation” just doesn’t add up, however you look at it.

I have now reached out (twice) to the email address provided in Go2Africa’s response to my review. I have never received a response from Go2Africa. This is nothing more than a ploy to try to convince unsuspecting customers that the company cares about its customers and will work with them if a hiccup occurs in travel plans. Speaking from my own experience, I can tell you most assuredly that they definitely do not. Avoid this company!

Our first safari in Kenya and Tanzania could not have been better! From creating a personalized trip to the accommodations, to all the little details...everything was taken care of. They created a timeline to help us navigate what we needed to do (pre-trip) and when we needed to do it. We even got help with our Tanzanian visa which might have otherwise been very frustrating. Just before our trip we went over every detail with Nawal. She was great. She reassured us that each step of the way we would be informed as to what we needed to do next so there was nothing to worry about. As a person who likes details I was a little nervous but...we had absolutely no issues. Every transfer, camp, guide, help with border crossing...it all went perfectly. We appreciated the eco-friendly accommodations and the connection we felt with the people, the animals and the land. Africa now has a piece of my heart. Thanks Go2Africa for the best time.

Booking and planning our trip to Africa was a breeze with the help of Susan and Lauren at GoAfrica. It could have easily been overwhelming but they helped with what itinerary would be best for us, flights and answered all our questions. They were easy to communicate with and were prompt with responses getting back to us the same day or next. They kept us on track with timelines so we knew when to apply for Visas and schedule shots for Uganda. They were a joy to work with and essential to planning our trip!

This trip to Africa is a 25th wedding anniversary gift to ourselves! I had no idea where to start and I came across Go2Africa during my days on the internet researching. Mary Keet was our planning genius! After many emails and video calls, she helped us to plan an amazing trip that will meet all of our criteria. A perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, scenery and luxury which is exactly what we wanted.
After all of the planning we were introduced to Nicole Bowes who took over the logistics and travel details. Again, many emails, and a video call and Nicole never disappointed us with so many suggestions, thoughtful ideas and suggestions. Above all, Nicole answered so many questions for us!!!
This has been the easiest trip I have every planned although it is over 2 weeks. Mary and Nicole have been amazing. I would recommend Go2Africa to anyone thinking about a trip to Africa. Hope you are lucky enough to work with Mary and Nicole, both highly professional, friendly and very knowledgeable.
