Go Magic Opiniões 

I've been playing go for many years (currently 7k on OGS), but never seriously took lessons, or play in a club. I'm using Go Magic to put a bit of theory and structure in my practice. The videos are fun and full of good advice, and I love the gamification of the learning.

Well constructed and digestible lessons. The skill tree, especially "ghost mode", has been great for my early development!

I think the videos are well thought out and planned, they are short, clear and well explained, I like the evaluations and the exercises

I have played GO since 1975 but I have had problems finding good introductions online for complete beginners.
This is the ONLY one I have found so far! It's really, really good! Many instructors complicate things but here everything is crystal clear.

If you are at least 10-kyu, I recommend dwyrin, who plays and analyzes games mostly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. His "Murder Monday" is something I look forward to. He plays on every level from 7-8-kyu until 9-dan.
He is about the only one I feel I can learn something from—except when there is private tutoring from a pro, of course.

I have played go for close to 15 years and am currently 4k on OGS. My training has always been on-and-off over the years and largely unstructured. I decided to give the site a shot and went with the Typical Mistakes 2.0 course. I thought I’d be sitting through some boring, too-basic stuff to get a few nuggets to shore up my game, but each lesson was entertaining and helpful in some way. I’m looking forward to going through more courses. M I’m also having a great time with the skill tree and spend my free moments throughout the day solving puzzles. I feel like I’ve improved a lot in my reading ability using the skill tree.

My only suggestion, perhaps specific to the typical mistakes course, would be if there was a final video quickly summarizing the key concepts of the full course so I could refer back to it without necessarily needing to go through each lesson again.

Apparently I won something in the recent essay contest, but wasn't notified. I only found out a week or two ago when I asked. I was told it was too late to benefit from my winning. Too late, too bad.

Go Magic is just what I've been looking for. I wanted a way to learn Go that was similar to how I used Chessable to learn chess. The Go videos are broken up into easy-to-understand sections. The quizzes tell me if I understood or need to review the video. I've now joined to continue with other content on Go Magic.

Great lessons, modern platform and community features.

I guess it depends on personal feelings towards the teacher, but every course author is an experienced player. Each course I went through was loaded with knowledge presented in an approachable way. Specifically, the interactive parts make it outstanding among other online go content.
The next point is Duolingo-style gamification (although not as aggressive as Green Bird :)). You may love it, or you may hate it, but it works for me.
Its nice, modern appearance (which still isn't standard for go-related web pages) is another pro.
All in all, gomagic.org is great content wrapped in a pleasant experience.

It really is useful to have lessons in quick bursts with the busy lifestyle we adults have. It's very convenient and the content is definitely worth it! I am now becoming a religious user and I am definitely fear the moment when I have completed all the courses and content and am hungry for more. All of it is totally awesome!

Edit: Here are my reasons why I did not give 5 stars. I couldn't figure out how to reply to your response.

1. I think there should be more variety of problems. I have hit a wall in difficulty which I aim to pass, but I end up passing the skill by means of remembering the exact problem instead of reading it out as I should be able to for my level. More variety in problems of a specific skill would allow me to actually think/read instead of remembering the move because I had just failed it 2 minutes ago.
2. Sometimes on the skill tree, my progress for a skill/quiz gets reset because of a temporary network interruption, this is frustrating when I am on a skill that is very challenging and i am on a good run.
3. Some of us have very large fingers and i have fat-fingered many answers on a skill which i otherwise would've gotten correct. Perhaps allowing there to be a setting to submit moves similar to correspondence games on OGS? This is mostly for full 19x19 problems.
4. Since it is a web-based app and not a full blown app, I wish I had notifications sent to my phone as reminders for continuing a course or skill (or streak!)

I am faculty at a college who is considering changing their LMS. As part of that decision we have a workgroup reading and discussing Flower Darby's book "Small Teaching Online" about best practices for asynchronous online learning.

One reason I purchased a Go Magic membership was to experience as a student what made a well-designed LMS work. I have been very pleased with the curriculum and its pedagogy, and have more words than fit here about *WHY* it works so well.
