Solar Together means no flexibility in design
Really wish I hadn't heard of Solar Together, lowest price does not always mean best value.
I would not recommend using Grant Store Limited (GSL) for a solar PV system with batteries.
My experience, just filed my complaint with the RECC.
Read the RECC code, it is very good and gives excellent advice on what GSL should and should not do in the contract.
Check the quote/invoice value very very carefully, use a calculator when they summarise the value into one line item.
Also additional items, the Solar Together contract has very specific descriptions for each additional item above the base price.
I would recommend keeping all contact by email, they have a bad habit of suggesting things in phone calls which aren't always valid, you can have your handover/MCS documentation before paying the final invoice – its in the RECC code...
Read the other one star reviews.
Got a delay with the DNO application? May be they haven't even sent it in for decision yet (takes max. 10 days on a domestic fast track application by the way), but don't want to loose your contract.
Read the Foxesscommunity.com – great technical advice. Fox kit has many limitations (when paired with the Canadian Solar Panels) which I'm sure GSL know off and make last minute design changes without explaining them. No, you can't have any other equipment whilst in the Solar Together contract.
The Fox ESS 3680 kW inverter has max output of 2750 watts on one string, and it doesn't work well with 4 panels on a string – so guess what I've got 8 x 430 watt Solar panels on one string – (so not 3440 watts actually now 2750 Watts max output).
If you are expecting panel performance data from the Tigo optimisers, they aren't intelligent or linked to the internet in the Solar Together contract, its in the small print.
My scaffolding took 9 weeks to come down.

Highly recommended for solar
Had 10 panels and a battery installed in February 2025. Really happy with the speed at which the solar panels were installed. Excellent communication. Great price. I would definitely recommend Grant Store.

He was respectful and removed his shoes before walking on my carpets.

Happy With Service Provided
The company provided detailed documentation and were always happy to help when phoned. the sign up process was easy and the customisable initial proposal meant that we could tailor our system to how we wanted it. Our Renewables Coordinator, Zoe, was also very helpful and responsive to emails.

GSL are always prompt with their appointments and their staff are helpful, polite and experienced. Only had good experiences with the company, most recently for a post installation inspection carried out by David Joyce, who was polite, efficient and thorough, going out of his way to correct any minor adjustments. Perfect service! Clear, understandable and friendly
David was very friendly and made sure everything was clear, understandable and thorough and was very understanding to the needs of the household. Household consists of people with social anxieties and made everyone feel comfortable for the entire duration of his visit.

Joiner made a really good job closing and plastering hole and wall. Kenny Huges was wonderful and kept me informed every step of the process he cleaned afterwards and even washed the patio when plaster power got on it
