Trains were excellent… on time…. Clean …..modern, all giving amazing views of the Alps. The hotels were very good…. Except for the evening meals which were sub standard. The luggage transport was minimal, which caused some travellers anxiety.

Good trip, but a lot of walking with cases.
Despite the name of the trip being First Class, it is far from this. A poor start at St Pancras, when we found out that we were Eurostar Plus and not First Class. Having been up for 5 hours, we were looking forward to a hot breakfast on the train, as per First Class, instead we got served a cold pastry, yoghurt and an orange juice. In addition not being first class meant that we couldn't use the fast passport and security lanes. The rooms in the first two hotels were well below the standard expected, being very hot, and due to being at the front of the hotel, subject to a great deal of noise from the trams, and other vehicles, which meant that we got very little sleep, especially in the second hotel that we spent 3 nights in. All the meals in the hotels were pre booked from a very limited choice, and the quality of them was average at best! The worst food however, was on the 8 hour Glacier Express journey, where we were initially given the main menu to choose from, and then this was taken away and a supplemental menu card was given to us, and we were told that we could only select our from this card, which had no options at all! The food was poor quality, and made worse by the fact that walking through the next carriage, which was standard/2nd class, the food being served from the main menu was to a far higher standard, yet we were supposed to be First Class! On the majority of the trains, there were no seat reservations, resulting in a group of 30 people scrambling for seats and luggage storage. On positive notes, the scenery and especially the Matterhorn, was breath taking. Also our Tour Manager, Adeline, was informative and helpful throughout the trip.
Excellent experience, views outstanding and weather wonderful.
Enjoyable experience, expertly led
Very helpful booking staff. Wonderful tour guide. Brilliantly organised tour. I didn’t understand that the luggage could be taken for us to all the hotels all the way through. I really needed that service on our first day changing trains twice and dragging large cases in 29C heat from one train to another didn’t feel very first class, more like Trailfinders. We were all older retired people so first day wasn’t great. I think the luggage service should be part of the first class package. I didn’t get a window seat on Eurostar although asked for it several times. Hotels all good although the one in Zermatt was up an exceptionally steep incline and I struggled getting to and from that one. Also their tea making facility was a lukewarm water dispenser on the ground floor. Restaurant was closed on Sunday and no room service. The actual trains, the views of the Alps and Switzerland were all outstanding. Wonderful holiday!!
Fantastic itinerary, exemplary tour guide, beautiful hotels and truly first class Swiss train travel. A beautiful and very memorable trip all round. Thank you GRJ, especially Jane Antsey!
An amazing trip, rushed at times but there’s a lot to fit in. Hotels were great, although food not so but would still recommend this trip of a life time
Great holiday
Generally very good experience. You need to be fairly active and mobile to get the best out of this trip - there is a fair amount of walking/carrying luggage involved. Evening meals in the otherwise well-appointed Hotels were poor. Scenically is stunning. Spring or Autumn are probably the best times to reduce crowds and enjoy the views.
Very impressive trip, exellent hotels in perfect locations. Would not hesitate to book another trip. Excellent value for money, with very knowledgeable guide throughout.
It was a very researched and well run holiday which delivered expections and then some. The leader was exceptional and the hotels all at least 4 stars. The last in Strasbourg was five stars. I fully recommend this holiday.
From meeting up at St Pancras International to our return everything was amazing, in particular, our Tour Manager.
Very good trip
The best part was the three days in Zermatt with clear views of the Matterhorn on one day.
Very good - lived up to high expectations.
Loved the hotels, Bernina and Glacier Express, Eurostar, and Le Gruber Restaurant in Strasbourg. If I had known what I know now about changing trains and long connections, I would have flown into Zurich and joined the tour in St. Moritz. The tour manager was a huge disappointment, almost worthless.
An excellent holiday which exceeded expectations. Ruth the tour guide was superb throughout. Highly recommend this company and this holiday.
Excellent, well organised trip; a good group of 29 with good tour manager.
Tremendously enjoyable great camaraderie super tour manager came away really impressed!
