Bournemouth has gone downhill and Hermitage Hotel does not have the appearance of a 4* It's long drive to get to Alton and the "Watercress" Line. Boat from Poole to Swanage and then rail to Corfe Castle was good. Beaulieu Motor Museum without school children was probably the highlight.

All good except hotel lift was not working. Did not affect us too badly as we were on 1st floor, was difficult for some others. Think it took some time to repair! Weather was kind so trips went well.
Very interesting busy trip.the staff at the hotel were very helpful and kind.
Enjoyed the holiday very much. Nice hotel ( except lift out of order). Tour guide very helpful. Good range of excursions. Lovely fellow travellers.
Overall, really good!
Well organised, full days of activities and visits, and plenty of good memories afterwards. I am glad I have discovered Great Rail Journeys and will. be doing more trips with them.
The tour was well organised, we felt fully informed, bus driver great and bus always felt safe and ran to time. Exbury Gardens with short rail ride was lovely. Had good cafe, toilet and gift shop. Really enjoyed Beaulieu Car Museum-so much to see with its Monorail and House to visit. Excellent day out to Poole Harbour, Swanage with its railway and Corfe Castle, all a joy to visit. Didn’t enjoy Dsy 3 as much and would have preferred to see more of the Jurassic Coast. The one lift in the hotel was broken the whole time we were there but the excellent food made up for it! Room was modern, clean with lovey bathroom.
Very good trip.
There were various activities, e.g. train journeys, visits to castles, motor museum. It was a great holiday. The hotel was lovely and the food was delicious.
Interesting and busy short break with variable weather, good choice of places to visit..Enjoyed travel on heritage railways, was a shame that the heritage one from Swanage to Corfe Castle was only 20 minutes long. The sea journey to Old Harry Rocks and Swanage had to be altered because of strong winds which meant we could not moor at Swanage so instead we went back to Poole and the coach with our group then took us to Swanage. A good enjoyable break helped by a knowledgeable Tour Manager.
This was our third holiday with Great Rail Journeys. As always, the organisation before the trip was excellent. The tour itself had been carefully arranged, and our tour manager worked hard to ensure success, including having to change an activity one day because of poor weather. It is so reassuring to know that all arrangements are taken care of. Would thoroughly recommend GRJ for holidays in the UK and abroad.
An excellent trip , well organised
Interesting and varied holiday
Sociable group. Magnificent tour leader. Enjoyed all the outings despite variable weather. Hotel not the best i have stayed at but comfortable and reasonable food
Lovely mini-break.
Hotel good, excursions OK but could be adjusted in amount of time spent in each location, organizational good.
An enjoyable little train break with a packed intinary
Good hotel. Tour could have been timed better (if rail schedule allows). Too much time spent in in uninteresting villages. Might have been ok if tour guide had been able to show/lead any walks. Corfe especially lacks interest. Several hours there with only option to sit in pub. There is a small one room museum. Nothing else apart from the castle. Train schedule presumably to blame. The boat trip was great. Time would have been better spent in Swanage rather than Corfe. The Beaulieu and garden day outing was really interesting and worthwhile. Christchurch in the rain - pub again. Left to our own devices; could guide have helped?
No opportunity to walk along parts of coast which had fossils and prints ,which was my main reason for coming on the tour.I dixcussed this during a telephone conversation
Enjoyable.
