They are horrible! I had a car loan with GTE - I never missed a payment and actually paid lump sums on the loan and just paid my loan off early. I was trying to transfer the remaining money I had in my account to my normal checking account with another bank. GTE charged me $2.00 to transfer the funds - that $2.00 fee put my in overdraft and then they charged me $37 for an overdraft fee. They caused the overdraft. When I called customer service the woman I spoke to didn't even let me finish my sentence and basically said "there is nothing we can do". They won't approve a reversal of an overdraft - THAT THEY CAUSED!! I will NEVER (and I don't use that word often) do business with GTE again nor will I refer anyone I know to GTE. They have no concept of customer service and lost a customer over $37.

GTE Financial is a terrible place to deal with. Opened a CD/Share and they are not giving me online access, so I can view my account. Been on hold, talked to cs. If you are thinking of opening up account with them, do not do it! Terrible customer service. One call was over 45 minutes long waiting to speak to a supervisor, that never happened. Not user-friendly. Save yourself the headache. Go elsewhere.

I initiated a chat to payoff a loan and was given an amount, was told that if it was mailed and postmarked that day there would be no further charges. They lied! Spent an hour aonchats today (10/21) trying to make sense of their inverted accounting practices, was told "Sorry you were given incorrect information previously', asked if payment was made for the balance accrued that would close this account - was told yes. Made the payment and at the end they added a 12.00 fee for taking it over the internet. I was not told there would be a fee - all this institution cares about is squeezing every penny from the saps that are forced to use it. I have never been involved with a company, bank, etc. that lied more or forced one to use online payment with fees.

THEY ARE TERRIBLE, BEYOND TERRIBLE!!! I wish I would have never opened up accounts with these crooks! This credit union is a disgrace to the other credit unions out there that are member-focused. They are fee-happy as hell, and it’s pathetic!
I was charged numerous denial fees, and when I transferred money from my savings to checking they claimed they covered “$0.25” which is bull crap because I had money in my accounts, and they had the nerve to charge me a $7 overdraft fee FOR WHAT? I called to have those fees waived because they was not correct and these crooks denied to do so!! WHAT? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! They want me to pay them the fees they charged me for no reason? No way! They can close my accounts and send me to Chexsystems because I am not paying them almost $20 in fees because they want to lie and be fee-happy. Avoid this damn credit union like a plague!!!! They are horrific!!!!
