This is a scam

If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased the 5 year platinum plan for outdoor furniture at Fortunoff 7/ 2022 (not cheap). After 2 years, a poorly molded aluminum leg cracked on the sofa. My wife submitted several photos of everything requested to complete the claim in 9/2024. The kicked back the claim, claiming the receipt was not legible. Although our contract name and ID number was in the system. We tried to copy the receipt as as best wr could, but they claim it wasn't legible. Mind you, out information from the warranty purchase was in their system. My wife developed an unexpected life threatening illness, which kept us busy for 5 months. When I tried to resubmit another copy of the receipt, they said it was too late. Pure scam.

I filed a claim

I wish a zero star was available. I filed a claim. Took a few weeks for them to get back with me. I submitted all the required product information. They then forwarded everything to a third party company. Guess what. He didn’t have the part needed to fix my recliner even though Guardsman had all the information provided so the tech would have the part. So this will be a many week process. It’s almost like Guardsman doesn’t care at all about customer service, just their high cost of the plan. Very disappointing.

Regret taking out this insurance

Really regret taking out insurance with Guardsman. My recliner broke July last year, and engineer came out the following week and informed us we needed a new part. Guardsman then got in touch and told me they were sourcing the part. In September they informed me they could source the part in the UK and had to order it from China. October they told me the part had been dispatched and I had to wait 8 to 10 weeks. That was good, I know it takes a while to come from China. I was then given a date that the part would arrive 13th January and Guardsman would be in touch for fitting. Brilliant I thought! 13th January I hadn't heard from Guardsman so phoned and was told we will contact warehouse to see where part is and get back in touch. Didn't hear anything, phoned back a week later, and was told we will chase this up and get back in touch. Nothing! Next week I phoned and logged a complaint as it now ridiculous. Was then told the part has not left china and I have to wait another 3 months. Someone at guardsman is lying to me!!! To add insult to injury I cannot go to the Ombudsman until the 2nd April as Guardsmans policy is they will refuse to discuss case until 8 weeks after initial complaint.
Someone tell me why I took out the insurance 😕🥲

Dont spend your money on this!

What a sad company to work for I'm sure. I paid close to $500 on my furniture warranty and it was a total scam. My claim was instantly denied, it was incredibly difficult to get to speak with anyone, waiting on the phone for a couple of hours and then eventually being told that my barely used furniture with its issue would not be covered, and the reason was evasive and kept circling back to it just isnt covered. total BS. if I could deter even 1 person from getting this coverage, I would be happy.

Used manufacturing defect to get out of coverage

I submitted a claim for a simple tear, and was told it wasn't covered because it's a manufacturing defect. On a sofa I've had for 3 years. A 'defect'. Their entire business is a total scam.

I submitted a claim the first week of December, but none of the claim numbers lined up with any lookups on their website. I could find the status of the claim, so I emailed customer support three separate times, called and never got anyone twice, and was unable to even see that I submitted a claim successfully. After 2 full months, I got a letter in the mail saying coverage was declined because it's a defect. It's a tear in a seat cushion! That's not a defect.

I don't know why any furniture store would sell their protection plans, they just refuse to let you use the coverage you paid for and make up reasons why.

TERRIBLE COMPANY AND PROCESS. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

It's a TERRBLE company to do business with. POOR PROCESS. They waste your time gathering information on the phone only to send you another email to continue online. The questionnaire is ridiculously long. Fields that are marked as "not required" are still required to progress. Some options to choose from are ridiculous, about 54 items on some pages. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND GUARDSMAN

Don't waste your money

We purchased a leather recliner and bought the Guardsman protection plan. The leather started peeling and the $2000 chair now looks like junk. We filed a claim and they said peeling isn't covered. It is defective leather. What exactly do they cover? Complete waste of money. Don't do business with these people.

I would give Zero stars if I could!

Guardsman is a total Scam! AVOID!

My child dropped a knife on a barstool and they reviewed the damage and claimed they couldn’t cover it. Guardsman are basically looking for free money with zero payouts ever!

I’m looking into legally claiming my money back as I’ve paid for nothing! I’ve been scammed out of my money!

Promise The World Deliver a Street Directory !

Steer Clear, complete Hoax
We bought a 3.5 and 3.0 seater Cleo couch from Domayne 12 months ago..
Due to the the light colour fabric we were strongly advised to pay the $339.00 for Guardsman Fabric Protection Plus.
Our claims were denied and we were informed that these were caused by normal wear and tear.
We were told to refer to the Product Warranty Exclusions.
I am confused as to what they actually honour in the warranty ?
I will certainly be letting Domayne know what a mistake they are making, recommending these imposters !

If I could give zero stars I would. We bought this plan with our furniture 3 years ago. I recently tried to submit a claim because I was cleaning the couch and the vacuum made small tears. While I admit, I made an error in misunderstanding that "cleaner" does not apply to personal cleaning, they will not assist me in correcting the error to process the claim further. I am a mom to three young children and have never had worse customer support in my life. They are doing everything in their power to simply take my money and deny any claim. Never buy this plan.

It's a scam company please DON'T buy…

It's a scam company please DON'T buy any protection plan from them. We bought their protection plan when we bought our carpets from Safavieh and we never received any service from them although we requested many many times. They even are not responding to the phone calls, if by any chance they answer the phone call, all they do is check my info that's all. Please stay away from them! I can't believe Safavieh recommends this company!

Awful company

Awful company. I’ve had leather sofa 7 months and where I sit (despite having throws on it) the color has faded massively. I contacted them to be told that color loss on high contact areas is not covered. If that isn’t covered then gos knows what is. I could understand if I had it 10 years not 7 months. I also took out a 5 year sofa care plan with them yet can’t claim after 7 months. Scam artists and should be shut down

Horrible company to deal with

Horrible company to deal with. They don't even deserve one star. They are dishonest and don't stand behind what they claim they will cover and try to find any excuse to deny your claim. We paid for furniture coverage and it clearly states that seam separation is covered however when we had a seam separate on our fabric couch they said it was a stress rip which is not covered. You can clearly see it ripped at the seam.

DO NOT WIRE ANY MONEY TO THIS COMPANY.

One of the dining chairs broke as my wife sat on it - the legs simply gave way. There are stains on the others. Perfectly reasonable claims to make against a furniture warranty. Yet, they denied it.

It's a scam. CONSUMER REGULATORS TAKE NOTE AND CLOSE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD.

They make you complete claim forms but have NO GENUINE DESIRE to actually do anything with them.

Scam, scam, scam.
Fraud, fraud, fraud.
Fake, fake, fake.

An absolute SCAM!

An absolute SCAM!! NEVER buy warranty form them.
I bought “performance” fabric that was not suppose to stain or rip and it ripped immediately and stains from HANDWASHING IT!
They wouldn’t cover it under my 5 YEAR warranty and only have had this sofa for 3 years.
They are a disgusting excuse for a business and should be shut down for fraud! This is not a real business, it’s a scam to get your money! Don’t EVER get the warranty.
I have a sofa worth over $6k that is worth a damn and I’m gentle.
Th worst company and it should be shut down and not allowed to scam people into sending them money!

Terrible company--beware

Terrible company. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. They do not honor warranties. Just read their reviews. The deny EVERY claim. Rude customer service and non-existent techs, as they don't actually go fix anything. We purchased a 5 year plan, and they won't fix an issue that happened in the first year. Cheats! They have zero integrity or morals. They get money for nothing.

Scam Company

They are a scam company. They do not stand by their policies and have zero ethics. Terrible customer service on the phone and no actual service as they denied my claim, under 1.5 years, even though I bought a 5-year protection plan.

Don't waste your time or money on Guardsman warranty

They will not work on anything if it has had a problem for 30 days. Sofa started making a noise, then month later starts popping. call and submit a claim and denied because been making a noise over 30 days. this is a rip off. Don't buy this junk. I want everyone to know that they will find a loophole and cover nothing. If I could give them no stars I would.

I placed my first request for service 3…

I placed my first request for service 3 years after purchase. I contacted the furniture company to obtain the protection plan number and proceeded to call Guardsman. After talking to 3 representatives and getting a total run around, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I didn't get any better results. Do yourself a favor and skip a protection plan with this company. $300 out the window! If I could give this company a 0 stars I would.
