A scam don’t use them

A scam, I took insurance out with them and it’s impossible to make a claim. I have sent emails which have not been answered. When you ring the phone number it leaves you on hold then disconnects each time. Have no contact with anybody over the two weeks I have tried to process a claim. Stay well away

Deny claims

They deny claims that should be covered! They make everything extremely difficult and I can't reach anyone or find my original policy. When I called customer service they wouldn't even tell me what was covered by my specific plan. I specifically bought it because I have 4 pets and now they won't cover the damage that should be covered. Big waste of money! Very unhappy with customer service.

Absolute worst policy you can buy for…

Absolute worst policy you can buy for any furniture. We got this on an expensive suite for our home and was mis-sold this by DFS. We attempted a claim when our recliner mechanism broke and snapped. We where told that the cover doesn’t cover any kind if manufacturer faults and now the sofa is out of warranty with DFS. Complete waste of money and time. Lesson learnt.

Business scam

Business scam. I submitted photos and a description of my broken dresser for an estimate to be repaired. They sent back a financial estimate and scheduled a time for a technician to come out to preform repairs. They have a disclaimer/agreement that if the technician needs to come back a second time to finish repairs there will be a $65 charge for returning to the site, but if the repairs were completed the first visit it would be waived. The technician reviewed photos I sent to him, came out with NO equipment, took a photo of my dresser and told me it could not be repaired. They charged me $70 for nothing. This was a scam to get money as the estimate and description stated they would do work during the visit. He did not attempt to fix anything and was there less than 2 minutes. Another company fixed my dresser with no issues in about an hour for half the cost of the estimate. Judging by other reviews this is a common tactic to get people's money and view their homes to do zero work. Needs to be shut down.

Why cant we give minus stars!
The lack of service and integrity is unbelievable. I started a claim in March and still trying to get it finalized in July!
I've spent hours on "hold" waiting for a rep to pick up with their 800-252 number.
Answers to email correspondence takes weeks. I understand being short staff but damn, this must be a one man team!

Scam

Scam. Started a claim in February, and it’s still hasn’t processed by July. They run you round and round, waste your time, and don’t follow up on anything without having to call in.

The worst company to work with!!

The worst company to work with; it's a total scam. I submitted several claims for damaged items, and every single claim was denied. It took me several hours to compile everything they asked for in their submission process. Do not purchase their protection plan! It's a total waste of money and time.

I would like to thank Guardsman for their fantastic service . My claim was dealt with professionally and staff very helpful. My claim was resolved and can’t thank them enough.
I would totally recommend anyone buying new furniture to take out the cover with Guardsman !

Total f$&@ing scam

Total f$&@ing scam. They will put you off, tell you they don’t take calls on certain days, they’re backlogged, etc and never send a reply that they received your claim. Multiple calls and emails with no action. Don’t waste your money. Scam company.

The Scam in the furniture industry.

This is my response to the email o received denying our repairs on our furniture. It says it all. I encourage everyone to do the same thing.

I fiqured this service was a scam and will never purchase this service in the future.
I’ll also be describing your inferior, questionable company on every social media outlet I can find in addition to mentioning to everyone I encounter while furniture browsing or shopping not to waste their money.
I will also be leaving a review ( all of which seem to be one star) about this scam.
I notice on your own website, you don’t allow reviews.
Gee, I wonder why that is???
I’ll sign off now as I have to leave comments everywhere I can, in addition to contacting the BBB.

Total waste of money!

We bought two leather sofa electric recliners in 2021. We took out Guardsman insurance at the same time we bought the furniture. In December 2023 we lodged a claim as the mechanism on one side of a recliner wouldn’t work and the back of it is stuck in the down position. A technician did call out to look at the sofa in December 2023 and told us a part had to be ordered. We were only told in March 2024 that the required part was being ordered.

Still waiting on the part required to be delivered. We were sent a letter in May 2024 to say the expected date of delivery would be August 2024. We have no idea how long it will take to get a technician to make the repair. We feel completely let down by this company. Complete frauds as we would not have paid all that money for the insurance if we had known what would have happened. Do not take out this insurance! You’re probably insured anyway if you use your credit card to pay for it!

I would give a 0 if it were at all possible.

I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the State Attorney General and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Guardsman has refused to honor their warranty and we have reached an impasse. Do not purchase furniture from a company that offers them as 3rd party insurers. They are liars and cheats who will make up stories to prevent them from being held accountable.

I would give a zero if I could

I would give a zero if I could. First, the process is slow, and each thing has to go in separately. Had outdoor furniture that is a total loss. They are denying everything due to it being an accumulation, meaning I didn't make the claim early enough. I made the claim as soon as I noticed. Maybe had it not taken a whole month to get it even looked at, it might not have deteriorated to that extent. You can never reach anyone, and they lie about contacts. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been amazing! They stopped using them. We are in the escalation process, and i will update depending on that. So, don't do business with any company that even pushes a guardsman policy!

I wish I could give them 0 stars. This "company" is a pure scam. Like all other reviews here, we purchased Guardsman warranty just for them to deny a claim. Whey would I buy a warranty if my item isn't covered by such warranty? Why would vendors re-sell this scam? I am filing a complaint with Attorney General and Consumer Protection Agency. These scammers are defrauding customers of their hard earned money. Their business is built on collecting $ and denying claims. I'm so happy that Overstock / BedBathBeyond finally stopped selling this scam as of a month ago. I really hope there's a class action lawsuit against these scammers, and that AG will actually do something about this. They're running this scam right in his state, hope they're shut down with a hefty fine.

SCAM

I bought the policy from Overstock for an area rug. I discovered a stain on the rug, and wasn't sure what caused the stain as I didn't witness the spill. So I filed a claim, the 1st claim "wasn't received" even tho I downloaded photos, and went thru the entire process. Shame on me for not writing down the claim number. So, I submitted everything a 2nd time. After reaching out to them when I didn't hear anything for a few weeks, they finally emailed stating that b/c the cause of the stain was "unknown" which is what I clicked on in their drop down menu, the stain isn't covered. I wrote back to say it was most likely apple juice, or another beverage, & they responded with...."we cannot modify your previous claim". I didn't want to state initially that it might be apple juice, as that could be giving false info, making a false claim can result in prosecution as they mention in the claim process. So by stating, I didn't know exactly what caused the stain, the claim is dismissed.

Its a SCAM!!!!!!!!!

Was talked into buying insurance which i dont usually do. However they told me i could claim for mechanical faults on the recliner mechanism. This was the only reason to take out the insurance. Made a claim only to be told i am not covered. SCAM SCAM SCAM
