Hi Brian, thank you for the brilliant review — it’s great to hear you had such an amazing night at 30 East Drive on 10th December.

That’s some proper activity as well — a music box going off on the stairs and the small bedroom door opening with no one there is exactly the kind of moment that sticks with you. Chris will be chuffed to hear you found him so welcoming… and I’ll make sure he sees the snoring comment too — he’ll never live that down 😄

Can’t wait to have you back in the new year.

Hi Sue, thank you for such a lovely review — it means a lot coming from someone who’s been out with us "more than once." - Must be at least 20+ investigations now, eh?

I’m really glad you consistently feel that mix of friendly and professional, and that we’re making both first-timers and returning guests feel comfortable. Clear briefings and proper equipment walk-throughs are a big part of helping everyone relax and get stuck in, so it’s brilliant to hear that stood out for you.

Can’t wait to see you on the next adventure 👻

Hi Kymmi and JP, thank you for such a gorgeous review — and happy birthday (again!) 🎂✨

I love that you’ve made this a birthday tradition with us, and that the first one is still “continuing to give” — that’s exactly the kind of magic we want these nights to leave behind. Rachel and Ben will be absolutely chuffed to read this, and I’ll make sure Chris sees the shout-out as well.

The hosts really lovely meeting you both too — The Occult Family 🖤 — and thank you for the recommendation.

Hi Jonathan, thank you for the lovely review — I’m really glad you had such a fantastic evening.

Brilliant to hear you found it well run and informative, and that the balance of the tour plus your own free time to explore worked well. I also smiled at the “6 hours sounds too much” bit — it’s amazing how quickly it flies when you’re immersed in it (and having a warm venue definitely helps!).

Really pleased you’d do it again.

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review of your night at Kelvedon Hatch. We’re really glad to hear that, even with the delay on the way, you felt welcomed and looked after by the team on your arrival.

It’s great to know you enjoyed the vigils and that the hosts’ knowledge of the bunker and the equipment helped you get properly stuck into the experience. That’s exactly the kind of night we hope to give everyone.

We’ll definitely let our host Jess know she was missed… she’ll be chuffed you were thinking of her!

If you fancy another dose of ghosts and gadgets, we’d love to welcome you back at Kelvedon Hatch again or at one of our other underground sites such as Fort Widley, prisons or historic halls around the UK.

Hope to see you on another ghost hunt soon!

Hi Nottingham Twinned Paranormal,

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a detailed 4★ review and for joining us on our ghost hunt – it’s great to hear you had an entertaining night, that some odd things happened, and that your partner has now got the bug and is even ready to brave an environment like the cellar next time.

I’m really pleased to read your comments about Laura. She’ll be delighted to know that her friendly, chatty approach helped you feel at ease and has inspired you to do more investigating in the future.

I also appreciate your practical feedback. We did have plenty of wooden stirrers available on the night, though we completely understand that some guests prefer a traditional teaspoon. We don’t provide cup lids, as hot drinks must remain in the break area only – carrying lidded cups into vigil rooms isn’t permitted under the venue hire agreement, so we avoid creating the impression that drinks can be taken into the investigation spaces.

Your comments about break lengths are helpful too. We do have structured breaks built into the night, but it sounds as though one or two may have overrun on this occasion. We’ll remind the evening’s Event Manager to tighten these up and keep them closer to the pre-planned structure as expected, so that as much of the night as possible remains focused on investigating.

Your point about the cat balls is noted as well. We do aim to use equipment in a responsible and evidential way, and I’ll pass this on to the team member as a reminder to choose stable surfaces carefully, explain why, and actively debunk anything that can be explained by the environment.

I’m also sorry to hear you felt under pressure at times to take part in certain rooms, especially when you later realised others had spent some of the night doing their own thing. We do make it clear in the event information sent out beforehand, and again in our welcome briefing, that nobody is ever required to join in with every experiment. That said, we’ll remind the team to reinforce this more obviously on the night so guests feel completely comfortable choosing between the structured vigils and quieter, independent investigating during appropriate parts of the event, although our focus as a public event facilitator is group exercises.

Finally, please rest assured that we do look after our team. A great many of our hosts have been with us for over ten years, which we feel speaks for itself. We don’t discuss individual arrangements publicly, but our team are valued, supported and rewarded for the time and energy they put into every event.

Thank you again for your review and for recommending us to anyone who may be apprehensive about coming along. We hope to welcome you both back in the near future.

Thank you so much for the brilliant 5★ review! It’s lovely to hear that booking has been nice and straightforward for you, and that you’ve enjoyed the events you’ve joined us for so far.

We’re really pleased you’ve found the team friendly — that’s exactly the experience we want guests to have from the moment they book to the moment they arrive.

Hope to see you again very soon!

Hi Josh,

Thank you so much for the brilliant 5★ review! It’s fantastic to hear that the night exceeded your expectations — especially as you arrived as the sceptic in the duo. We love it when guests come with an open mind and leave feeling that little bit less certain about what they thought they knew.

Adam will be genuinely delighted to read your comments. He’s excellent at settling guests in, explaining things clearly, and making sure everyone feels equally comfortable taking part, so it’s lovely to see that come across in your experience.

It’s great to hear you enjoyed exploring the different parts of the manor and that you had some activity of your own. The variety of methods and equipment is something we put a lot of thought into, so we’re pleased it kept the evening fun, engaging and at times… a little thought-provoking!

If you ever fancy pushing your sceptic side even further, we’ve got plenty more locations that offer completely different atmospheres and experiences.

Hope to see you both again soon!

Hi Alex and Maisie,

Thank you so much for the fantastic 5★ review and for joining us at Rycroft Hall!

We’re over the moon to hear you had such an unforgettable night and that the activities kept you engaged from start to finish. Laura will be absolutely delighted to know her enthusiasm, friendliness, and knowledge helped make the evening feel so special for you all.

We always aim to give guests a proper ghost hunting experience that’s welcoming, atmospheric, and well run, so it means a lot to hear you’re already planning to become regulars with us.

We can’t wait to welcome you back for your next adventure at Smithills on Friday 13th February — we’ll do our best to get you back with Laura again where we can, too!

Hope to see you on many more ghost hunts!

— The Haunted Houses Events Team.
