Early December 2025 the 25 year old gas combination boiler failed in our house yet again. We decided it needed replacing and got on line quotes from a number of national companies.
Preferring to use a local company we contacted several around Hereford. Malcolm from Hereford Boiler Services replied promptly and the following day he visited the property for a site visit in order to prepare a quote. During his site visit he was open and informative about his opinions on the options we had considered and was open to our suggestions. The following day we received his quote with the specifications. After a modification to the specification we agreed the price and discussed a start date 4 working days later, a slight delay due to ordering/delivery of our preferred size boiler.
On the agreed date Malcolm and Shaun arrived at 0900 to start work. The new boiler was wall mounted to replace a floor mounted boiler in the garage. Both Malcolm and Shaun were friendly, answering questions about my concerns and were thoughtful in the placement of the new boiler to allow easy access to electrical sockets and to avoid the door (unlike the original boiler). This required rerouting of the cold feed pipe and plumbing in of the domestic and central heating pipes and gas supply, and a new hole through the wall for the flue. The condensing boiler also needed a new waste, fitted to British standards to a nearby drain.
Electrical connections were re-established to our Residio wireless thermostat and the frost stat.
The new boiler and system was gas leak checked and commissioned without any hitches. Both domestic hot water and central heating were restored. Malcolm described use of the boiler to us, and reassured us that if we had any problems we should contact him.
The work was completed over 1.5 days and the old boiler taken away and the area left spotless.
My impression was Malcolm and Shaun are an excellent and approachable team and gave me confidence during the installation and assurance should there be any issues.
The boiler (Ideal Vogue Max Combi 40) has been working for a month withouth any issues.
I would be happy to use Hereford Boiler Services again.

I had to have a new combi boiler installed and Hereford Boiler Services did a marvellous job for me. I found them to be professional and trustworthy. Their work ethic is excellent. They were respecful of my home and left everything clean and tidy. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you Malcom and Shaun for my new boiler!
