Mixed bag - excellent packers, one good removalist and one very slow and unhelpful one who would have added an extra hour or so to job easily, the better removalist had to re-do things for him and double check lots of things

The two men were unbelievably good at the job and incredibly polite and respectful

I requested a quote on line from 3 companies. Holloway is the only company that got back to me by text, left a message and by email. Ky was really helpful and sent me a quote by email straightaway. They follow up with an email a few days before the move to make sure we are okay with packing and doesn't need help. Lucas and his partner turned up promptly on day of the move, texting me in advance. It was an 8 hour job from start to finish. The inside of the truck is clean. The attention to detail, being so careful with wrapping up and moving big wall units in very tight space amazes me. Very friendly team. They moved some of our furnitures into storage first, nothing is too much to ask. I have never organised a move before but the team at Holloway put me at ease. I am very happy with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I would like to thank Holloway Removals for their services and in particular Edward and John the removalists they were very attentive and asked where we wanted our things to go, very efficient and careful with our things. We were happy with the cost of the move not expensive for our long distance move thanks again.

From the sales rep to the pick up and delivery teams the experience has been fantastic. There has been a bit of phone chasing trying to organise delivery of the overflow of my goods, but otherwise everything else has been great.

Axel, Victoria, David and Chris did a fabulous job. They were efficient, polite and nothing was a problem. Our new property proved to be very difficult due to a very narrow staircase. They worked out a solution by passing very heavy furniture over a balcony while continuing to smile. Nothing was damaged and we were extremely happy with the experience.

Our interstate move with Holloway was extremely stressful and fell far below the standards advertised on their website and social media.

What we experienced looked nothing like their marketing — no branded truck, no uniformed staff, no trained or professional crew.

Key issues:

• A sudden $895.22 surcharge on delivery day with no measurement, no breakdown, and no consent, despite a fixed-price, itemised quote.
• We were told our belongings would not be unloaded unless we paid immediately while driving 16 hours — clear coercion.
• When requesting a refund, Holloway said they would only process it if we waived our ACL rights and accepted it as “full and final settlement.” This is not legal.
• Unsafe and unacceptable work practices: one worker arrived untrained, ended the job barefoot and shirtless, complaining of back pain and yelping.
• The entire move looked nothing like the professional crews, uniforms, and branded vehicles they show on their website and social accounts.
• Delivery changed from Friday to Thursday with almost no notice, creating unnecessary expense and stress.
• Only four hours before arrival, we were told they had no offsider, despite the job requiring two people.
• Missing art boxes that were part of the quote — refund still outstanding.
• Unprofessional behaviour from management, including insults and threats to return our belongings to the pickup location.

We have lodged complaints with:

The driver, Adam, was excellent. The issues lie entirely with management, process, and work practices.

Avoid this company at all costs.

The team was friendly, efficient, professional, and flexible. 10 out of 10! Most highly recommended!

Bruno and John were just great at their job. Nothing was too difficult for them and they were perfect gentleman in their attitude.

They quoted and then wanted to double the price before they would deliver to the destination. They were unclear about the basis for calculating their price and did not provide accurate metrics for additional price. Their contract terms are fluffy. I have used these guys before. Never again.
