I can’t recommend Home Energy Counsel highly enough! They installed my solar panels on Saturday 6th June, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The team was professional, friendly, punctual, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The installation was completed to a very high standard, and they left everything clean and tidy afterwards.
The customer service throughout was outstanding, and I felt informed and supported every step of the way. I’m really pleased with the quality of the installation and would happily recommend Home Energy Counsel to anyone considering solar panels. Thank you for such a fantastic service!

A disgustingly desperate company.
Over the past 13 days they have attempted to call over 25 times. They repeatedly ignore the fact I have asked them to stop calling. Harassment is an understatement.

After reading your review, we went back and listened to the call recordings and checked our contact history.
Our records show that we had several two-way conversations over the period in question, including three occasions where you called us back. It wasn't until our final conversation that you asked us not to contact you again, and we actioned that request straight away.
As soon as you asked us not to contact you again, we updated your record, marked your details as Do Not Call, removed your number from our active call lists and there has been no further contact since.
We always respect requests to stop contact, and in this case your request was honoured immediately.
We're sorry this was your experience, but we felt it was important to clarify the sequence of events for anyone reading your review. We genuinely wish you all the very best for the future.
No Follow Up , (updated)
We had an initial call from the HEC introducing the company, the incentives etc. followed by the appointment bookings team, who set up an appointment for the 7th July 2026, HEC representative visited our property, went though all the details, generated and shared a solar panel and battery storage proposal for consideration.
We agreed, that we would have a few days to review the proposal & cost's and the HEC consultant would call us back on an agreed date which was Monday 13th.
All very professional by all the HEC team, no hard sell or forced approach, the down side! there wasn't any follow up call to answer our question following the review of the proposal and to see if we're going ahead with next step for survey and install.
Disappointing that we gave up everyone's time with no outcome, which has lead me towards sending out enquires to other Solar installers.
Update
Thank you for your reply, I’ve amended the TP star status to 5.
I did receive a follow, discussed the system, quotes etc. and we are going ahead with the installation which is due on Friday 30th Aug and hopefully this all goes ahead as planned.

Unfortunately, your consultant experienced an unexpected issue with his mobile phone, which meant he wasn't able to make the agreed follow-up call. That's not the level of service we aim to provide, and we're sorry for the inconvenience and confusion it caused.
We're really pleased we were able to get back in touch shortly afterwards, answer all of your questions and move things forward, and we'd like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to put things right.

Really professional and caring installation
Really helpful and friendly salesman. He answered all our questions.
I called up prior to the installation of the solar panels as I was concerned about the damage to the front garden and plants when fitting the external fusebox. The man I spoke to was extremely reassuring and contacted the fitters to request extra care.
The fitters were extremely careful and I am so pleased with how professional and how much care they took.
It was a very quick and pain free process and would recommend to anyone.

Home Energy Counsel Highly recommended
I had a very positive experience with Home Energy Counsel from start to finish. The initial consultation with Marcus was informative and completely pressure-free, which made the whole process feel comfortable and straightforward.
The scaffolding was fitted the day before installation as planned, and both the solar panel installers and electricians were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking and efficient. The quality of the workmanship is excellent. The wiring has been installed so neatly that it’s barely visible, running discreetly up the side of a drainpipe, through the loft and down the back of the house.
The system itself has exceeded my expectations. I have 14 solar panels and a 20.4 kWh battery system, which is fantastic. During the summer, the battery is fully charged before 10 a.m., and the system generates an incredible amount of power.
The solar panels look great on both sides of the roof, and the battery is sleek, modern and very unobtrusive.
I couldn’t be happier with the service, workmanship and performance of the system. I highly recommend Home Energy Counsel to anyone considering solar and battery storage. Five stars all round!

Well informed rep explained things perfectly we didnt have to wait long for the installation either it was all up and running week but the certificate for it so you can sell your electricity back to the grid seems to be taking awhile where still waiting for ours two weeks after it was put up and running

Getting a Solar energy is the best…
Getting a Solar energy is the best decision I made as our electricity usage had been increasing. Having 2 disabled children, with all electric equipments they used, our electricity bill had been constantly high. Home Energy counsel had met my expectations, the service they provide from first meeting their staff from after installation, I can always ring to any query I have and they’re very helpful to respond. I should have given a four as I wasn’t given much information on the IPad but I gave 5 as it outweighs the quality of the service I got. I am so happy and less worry for me on how many electric equipments my children needs.

Solar panel and battery system
The salesperson was very informative, however I still have not got a detailed quote which I requested itemising how many panels, the type/make of inverter and batteries and written warranties offered. As we wished for a bit of time to discuss the purchase, verify the bank for finance and the company offering all the warranties - not just a cigarette break - were told that the £2500 discount through a grant was not then available. Most disappointing as they appeared to have a good system

We always aim to have proposals with our customers within 24 hours of their appointment, however we do advise that this can take up to 72 hours, particularly during busy periods or where a more complex system design requires additional work to ensure everything is tailored correctly. We're sorry that on this occasion we fell short of the standard we aim to deliver.
We're pleased that your detailed proposal has now been sent, including the information you requested regarding the system specification, equipment and warranties.
We'd also like to apologise for any confusion surrounding the £2,500 grant. To clarify, taking additional time to consider your options would not have affected your eligibility, and the funding would still have been available to you. We're sorry if this wasn't communicated clearly during your appointment.

Quality products, service, and attitude from HEC.
The whole experience and service from Home Energy Counsel was excellent. Solar was area that I was unsure on how to navigate and I was really weary about getting caught out or talked into an expensive plan but the team at HEC proved quickly that they had a quality product to sell, and my needs were the priority not how much money they could make.
The rep who conducted the site visit was polished, professional, and courteous, as were the installers who came a week later.
Couldn't recommend HEC or their products highly enough.

Very efficient process from start to finish,the solar panels only took a day to install which was great,we did have an issue but this was resolved with speed and accuracy so couldn't complain.Very easy to get hold off which was really helpful.

High quality solar system
The home visit was informative. Everything was checked, to make sure that the solar energy system was beneficial to us. All questions were answered by very knowledgeable staff. The installation of the system was quick and there were no problems. The solar panels and the system is working better than we expected. The system seems to be high quality. Any questions we had after installation were answered by a friendly office staff. We would highly recommend this company!

I had a great experience with Home Energy Counsel from start to finish. The sales representative who visited was very knowledgeable and took the time to understand my level of knowledge about solar before explaining everything clearly. He answered all my questions thoroughly without any pressure.
The process moved quickly and efficiently. The following week, the survey team carried out a full inspection and discussed details like cable routing and battery placement to make sure everything suited my setup. The week after that, scaffolding was installed and the solar system was fitted the very next day the whole process was completed within just three weeks.
I’m now 11 days in, and I’ve already saved £91 on my energy bill, which is really encouraging. Overall, a smooth, well-organised service and I’m very happy with the results so far.

From the first booking call to the installation eveyone was friendly and non pushy, we had had many quotes from solar companies but none of they could explain what the ststem entailed what would match our usage didnt even question our home set up. This all changed with Home engergy Councel they took the time to get to know us and our usage, they explained what would be best and in none jargon terms. Everything was well detailed,and made easy to understand. We were that impressed we booked there and then. Installation was quick and efficent. Were saving so much money now! All staff are extremely friendly and helpfull. From start to finish it was very quick, I had my solar panels installed within 1 week of my quote. Instalation was a breeze and even without the sunniest weather im already making money!

Not impressed with "salesman"
Not impressed with "salesman". Started asking what I knew about solar, told him we had several quotes ranging from 7k to 14k, why hadn't we gone ahead, I was not happy with his questioning. Seemed more interested in how and when we would fund extension & solar. Then stated his solar installation would be in excess of 14k, how he came to that without any survey seems incredulous.He was also comparing various types of batteries which didn't work in cold weather compared with his American expensive versions. Was obviously not interested as we anticipated work would start in about 2 months. He wanted an immediate order. AVOID !!

As part of our discussions, our consultants will often ask questions about a property's future plans, including extensions, renovations and other home improvements, as these can influence the design and suitability of a solar and battery system. Our understanding was that a planned extension was discussed during the appointment, which is why this topic formed part of the conversation.
Similarly, we ask about timescales and funding options so that we can understand whether a project is something a customer is looking to progress now or at a later date. These questions are intended to help us provide relevant advice and recommendations, rather than to place customers under pressure.
We would also like to clarify that we do not provide final system designs or formal quotations without first assessing the property. Any figures discussed during an initial consultation are based on the information available at the time and are intended only as indicative estimates until a full survey has been completed.
We're sorry if the discussion gave the impression that an immediate decision was expected. That is never our intention, and many customers choose to proceed weeks or months after their initial consultation.
