He was very thorough in his inspection, meticulously checking every aspect of the property in detail highlighting everything that is necessary for your new home to become perfect.
The survey report arrived same day and it was professional and organised, simple to understand and every issue was referred to NHBC guidelines, that takes out the guesswork for everyday person. Meticulously structured survey gave us leverage to get majority of snags fixed without any questions or pushback.
Reservation process is very easy, it can be done online or over the phone. They are very responsive on any questions you may have.
Honestly it is worth spending the money hiring HomeSnag, because you are being left in professional hands, and it eases the whole post completion process and takes worry out of snagging your new build, and definitely worth upgrading to thermal heat loss and borescope cavity check survey.

Matthew was great when snagging our 3 bed property. Uncovered some potential large issues and has helped us liaise with the developer when challenged. Matthew who came for snaging was very polite and professional. He carried out all the checks throughly and also was explaining the issues in between. He did a great job flaging a broken roof as it was hard to spot and was almost on the verge of falling down on someones head and cause accidents. I would definitely recomend them.

Great service and highly qualified surveyor who produced a quality and detailed report. I'd highly recommend them. Wish I could have scored a 4.5, I didn't give full score because I wish they had a separate service post-completion for infrared scanning and drones only, as the PCI checklist does not allow for this pre-completion. There is no single product that closes the gap between a full survey and the PCI checklist. It's either the PCI before completion or full survey after completion.

After watching several of Homesnag's YouTube videos, we decided it would be a wise investment to have them inspect a family member's new-build home. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made.

Before Alex arrived, we had already spotted a number of cosmetic defects, mainly poor plastering and flooring finishes. We thought we'd done a decent job—but Alex's inspection showed just how much we had missed. His expertise and attention to detail were on another level entirely.

Nothing escaped his scrutiny. From drainage and loft insulation to brickwork, ventilation, and compliance with NHBC standards, Alex carried out an incredibly thorough inspection. His knowledge of NHBC tolerances was outstanding, and it was reassuring to have someone who knew exactly what developers are required to deliver.

I recently moved into a new house and decided to have a post completion snagging survey done for peace of mind. I contacted HoneSnag and a member of the team talked me through the online booking process which was straightforward. Matthew from HomeSnag attended to carry out the survey. He was punctual, very thorough and kept me informed at every stage. At the end of the survey he talked me through a list of items that required attention. Having the survey was very helpful for me because Matthew made a number of recommendations that I was not aware of.

I instructed HomeSnag to carry out a professional snagging survey on a new-build property, expecting an independent and comprehensive assessment of defects against the applicable standards. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly below those expectations.

The appointment was rescheduled at short notice despite being booked through HomeSnag’s online reservation system, which I reasonably relied upon as reflecting genuine availability. By the time I was informed of the change, cancelling would have resulted in financial loss, and no meaningful alternative was offered.

Communication throughout the process was also disappointing. The surveyor was due to arrive at 08:30 but, after almost two hours without any communication, we were informed they were still approximately one hour away. We were advised that the report would be issued by 17th June, yet it was not received until 22nd June, again without any interim updates or explanation.

The inspection itself raised the most significant concerns. Several defects were only recorded after being raised towards the end of the inspection, rather than being independently identified during the survey. My concern was not that specific issues were discussed with the surveyor, but that a professional snagging survey should identify defects independently rather than relying on the homeowner to highlight issues.

The report also contained inaccuracies and material omissions that undermined my confidence in its reliability. A bedroom door was incorrectly recorded as a fire door, and a night-light switch was incorrectly identified as a standard light switch. More significantly, multiple scratched window panes — items specifically referenced within NHBC guidance — were not identified in the report, along with other material defects. Taken collectively, this raised serious concerns about the thoroughness and reliability of the assessment.

Given the number of omissions and inaccuracies, I ultimately commissioned my own independent snagging assessment, as I no longer had confidence that the report provided a sufficiently reliable assessment for my purposes.

Following my original review, HomeSnag contacted me directly and offered a 50% refund on the condition that I removed my Trustpilot review and provided evidence of authorship. Subsequent proposals, including a revisit and later a 100% refund, were also made conditional upon entering into an agreement requiring the review to be removed and restricting future public comments.

Thank you for your response. However, I do not believe it gives readers the full picture.

The concern was never that the inspection took around six hours. The concern was that the outcome of the inspection did not provide the independent and comprehensive assessment I had paid for. Several defects were only recorded after being raised towards the end of the inspection, rather than being identified independently during the survey.

You state that some missed defects were minor or not noticeable. However, multiple window panes had scratches that were not identified in the final report. These defects, along with other omissions, reduced my confidence in the completeness and reliability of the survey.

The report also contained factual errors, including incorrectly identifying a bedroom door as a fire door (which you later acknowledged was an error) and incorrectly recording an integrated night-light switch as a defective standard switch.

There were also issues during the inspection, including repeated problems with the surveyor’s device losing charge, which delayed photographs being taken and contributed to delays on the day.

For clarity, I initially left a 2-star review. After HomeSnag contacted me, I removed it temporarily to allow them to investigate. I did this voluntarily and in good faith.

Refund offers were later made, but these were conditional on removing the review and accepting an agreement restricting future public comments. I declined because I believe customers should be able to leave honest feedback based on their own experience.

My review remains an accurate account of my experience with the service provided.

He made contact ahead of time to confirm all the logistics regarding key collection from the site team, arrived exactly on time, and was completely professional throughout. I chose the 10 month+ survey for my new build property as I thought I had found the majority of defects.

However, the Surveyor who attended found 2 urgent (red) issues and quite a few orange issues.
