Wowcher/hometolab = zero refunds
Bought a voucher from Wowcher and redeemed it with the company. They sent me a 1st class stamped addressed envelope in which I placed the printout, hair sample in a sealed plastic pouch and returned it to them.
I never received an email to confirm receipt of my sample so I contacted them. I received a reply saying they hadn’t received it so I asked for another sae to be sent to me and they refused. I then asked for a refund and they directed me back to Wowcher as they don’t do refunds and I needed to allow at the very least a month for them to pass it to the lab.
Wowcher clearly states “Once you have redeemed a voucher with a merchant you have entered into a legally binding contract with that merchant. Therefore, once you have redeemed a voucher, you would need to cancel the merchant contract with the merchant in order to receive a full refund of the price paid for the voucher products from them. You can do this by contacting the relevant merchant at any time within 16 days, beginning on the day after they receive the order” However, Hometolab are u willing to refund me.
AVOID THIS COMPANY….customer service is nil and they aren’t interested
DANGEROUS SCAM: Missed severe NHS-confirmed allergies & generates random results
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR HEALTH.
I purchased tests for myself and my wife. The results are not only a complete work of fiction but are dangerously negligent.
1. MISSED SEVERE MEDICAL ALLERGIES
I have a severe, NHS-diagnosed LTP Syndrome allergy to Peaches (Pru p 1). If I eat them, I become seriously ill.
This test categorized Peaches as "NORMAL" and safe for me to eat.
It also missed my known reactions to Wheat and Tomatoes.
If I followed their "dietary advice," I would end up in the hospital.
2. THE "SWAPPED" RESULTS PROVE IT'S FAKE
My wife is highly sensitive to Horse hair.
Her report said she is "NORMAL" (safe) with Horses.
MY report claimed I AM sensitive to Horses.
I have no issue with horses; she does. The system literally guessed and assigned the sensitivity to the wrong person.
3. RANDOMISED NONSENSE
While missing our actual medical triggers, the report padded the results with absolutely absurd "sensitivities" to things we have never encountered:
It claims I am sensitive to Alpacas, Caribou Meat, and Tropical Blood Flukes (Schistosoma).
It claims my wife is sensitive to Weasels, Webspinners, and Tiger Beetles.
It flagged BOTH of us as sensitive to Venus Flytraps. What are the odds of a husband and wife both biologically reacting to a rare carnivorous plant? Zero. It is clearly a random generator.
4. LAZY REPORTING
The report is bulked out with copy-paste dictionary definitions (telling me that Bacon is "meat from a pig") rather than any medical insight.
This is not a medical test. It is a random data generator that takes your money and gives you dangerous advice. I am demanding a full refund. Avoid at all costs.

I have emailed the company several times, but they haven't had the courtesy to reply. 'They' say the office hours are open from 9.30am - 4.30pm, but do not supply a telephone number, therefore there is little or no way of contacting them

Bought a voucher to redeem through Wowcher on 14th July 2025. The voucher could not be redeemed and due to this I was charged £154.00 by home to lab. I have contacted both yourselves and Wowcher regarding this. To date I have sent 5 emails to you requesting a refund of the £154.00 and received no reply. Wowcher have also contacted you and had no reply. I have received £19.99 refund from Wowcher for the error and what I initially paid to them, but they are refusing to sssust me further in gaining my £154.00 back from yourselves, which I find appalling. Please answer emails and refund my £154.00 I was incorrectly charged as I have not used the purchase. This is really bad service and I would not recommend your company or Wowcher as they have failed to help me with this experience despite them connecting me to you.

If I could give this company a zero I would! I purchased through Wowcher and my code (which I have tried various times to redeem) just doesn’t seem to exist.
I contacted the merchant and to be fair, they were quick to respond in the first instance. They sent me instructions on how to redeem (which I previously followed anyway). But that wasn’t my issue - my issue was a code which simply wasn’t working.
I have sent two emails since with no reply.
Quick to take your money but that’s it!
Avoid. Could be a SCAM. Now trying to get a refund

This is a poor service!
It took 2 weeks for to them confirm receipt of my sample, despite me having sent it first class, so they should have got it 1-2 days later.
I paid for fast track and they didn’t action it fast track, so I waited over a week for my results (and then waited over another week for my refund of the fast track fee)
I don’t believe the results are accurate, as I’d chased multiple times, it feel they just put my results together to shut me up.
In the results, it said I had a hormone imbalance relating to my thyroid. I had a blood test done a month before that stated my thyroid is in perfect range.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and cut out foods they recommended, and reintroduced ‘safe foods’ that I had removed previously (based on a test I did a few years back), I have not had any improvement in my symptoms, I actually have been worse, so believe the results weren’t accurate at all. (Eg, cut out dairy based on a prior test, HTL didn’t raise dairy as a concern and actually advised that I should eat it to improve various deficiencies etc, so I reintroduced dairy, and have felt awful, very muggy headed and a very upset stomach!)
Would not recommend this company at all!

Ordered from Wowcher so wasn't expecting anything amazing. Firstly on the positive side, wowcher code worked fine, process for sending samples was easy, result came quicker than expected.
Unfortunately, the results are generally incorrect. I know from multiple experiences that I am 100% allergic to dogs and cats - no result for this. It says I am 90% intolerant to Vodka - again, I spent nay years testing this and only had good reactions to it 😂. Some of it may be possible as the inbalaces showed up as things that are commonly found in meat and dairy, and I'm vegan so this makes sense. Probably more reliable options out there but OK for £20.
