THE absolute WORST tax firm.
Sorry for the late review, better late than never. Reporting on my experience from last year's tax return season.
I have been doing my taxes in LA for many years and wanted to consolidate all of my financial investments with a one-stop financial tax firm that I could also retain for tax/financial services and came across Honest Tax Solutions.
Honest Tax Solutions is far from "honest". Daniel Stevens (owner) gives a master performance in "selling" his firm's tax and financial investment services. However, after signing a contract last year for my 2022 tax return, it quickly turned into THE ABSOLUTE WORST tax firm I have EVER worked with for several reasons.
First, this was the first time I was working with their firm, and they emailed my returns without personally reviewing my return with me. I am not a tax expert and I rely on my accountant to review my return with me. When I requested an appointment to review my tax return, Daniel told me that they have hundreds of returns to complete and they rely on their clients to ask them questions about the returns, which is completely unacceptable.
Second, as standard industry practice, I have always received a complete printed copy in a file folder with the firm's contact information attached with my original tax documents. However, when I asked Daniel to prepare this for me, he seemed completely reluctant and told me that he would have to print on double sides to save paper and "could do it if that's what I wanted."
Lastly, the most disturbing is the entire firm's lack of professionalism, courtesy, follow through and reliability. Daniel passed me on to his Operations Manager, Breanna to coordinate completing my return. She called me to get my consent to debit $445 for the cost of my tax return, she overcharged me in the amount of $465 without sending me an invoice and/or receipt. Then she passed me onto the office assistant to schedule an appointment to get my tax return signed, I emailed them both 3 times without a response. On the 4th attempt to contact the firm, I called Daniel directly and the office assistant, Ileen called me and rather than courtesy apologizing for the delay in returning my messages, she gave me a full-blown attitude and acted as though she were doing me the favor. When I addressed these issues with Daniel directly, he immediately got angry. Then he YELLED at me and BERATED me over the telephone, I am completely appalled by his behavior.
Honest Tax Solutions is not a firm that I would ever trust my accounting and finance needs with nor recommend based on their lack of integrity, professionalism, courtesy, reliability and efficiency, effectiveness. "Honest" Tax Solutions operates like a low-grade tax firm, far worse than working with H&R Block.
