Purchased a refrigerator

Purchased a refrigerator. The freezer went out less than a year later. The store I bought it from has since closed down. I mean gone bag and baggage. Had a helluva time trying contact anyone. Got stuck in an endless loop. Finally found a guy at another local store who finally found a number and was able to reach them. They sent out a repair guy to check it out. As soon as he saw it he said "Oh! Ths one is made by Dawoo. Parts are a real nightmare." He left and about week later we were contacted and told that the part has been discontinued. We got our miney refunded MINUS the sales tax we paid. AND they let us keep the refrigerator. Well, YAY for us. Now we're the proud owners of a refrigerator that doesnt get cold and there are no parts anywhere in the world that we can get to fix it. And they still owe us the sales tax. We were told that we would be reimbursed for $300 worth of groceries for our trouble. It took quite awhie for the service guy to come out. We were without a refrigerator for quite awhile. For all they know we still are living out of an ice chest. Im just upset at the way the whole thing was handled. Im thinking that it was pretty shady to sell us a refrigerator AND an extended warranty when I think they were probably aware that the actual manufacturer Dawoo was circling the sink. Just really poor business ethics.
Note to self: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOWARDS!!

DO NOT BUY ANY CUSTOM FITTED APPLIANCES…

I came into the Howard's store in Woodland Hills on May 28, 2024 shopping for appliances for an apartment building unit. I requested an installer to come out and measure a dishwasher and cooktop opening. I was informed by sales person, Tony Topps that I do not need anyone to measure because it is very simple and I can do it myself. I have always had someone to come out and measure before installations so I was reluctant but agreed to measure it myself. I informed Mr. Topps that my measurements of the opening was 24 inches and he ordered a 24-inch cooktop. The cooktop was delivered on July 11th and it was determined that the opening was 21 x 25 inches and I was told I could either get a modification to the gap around the 24 inch or I could order a 30-inch cooktop and the opening could be cut to fit the new cooktop.

The cooktop was supposed to be delivered on July 23, 2024 with a vent fan however only the vent fan was delivered. On Thursday July 25, 2023 the cooktop was delivered. The installer cut the opening to fit the cooktop after which he told me that the cook top opening depth was too big. I should have been informed of this before the cut because I could have insisted that they exchange it out again for a cooktop that was 21 ¾ which would have fit. They told me that I could use grout to fill the opening. When I had a tile person look at the area to grout he told me this could not be done and he also stated that cooktops should never be grouted anyway, because they should be able to be removed for repairs and replacement. When I spoke to my salesperson he recommended I pay for a aluminum modification that could fill in the gap where it was too big.

I am upset for many reasons.1. If I had someone come out originally as I requested when I came into Howard’s possibly none of this would have occurred and Howard’s would have been more conscientious about making sure the cooktop fit 2. If modification of a gap around the cooktop was the route I was going to go I could have gotten that with the 24 inch cooktop. 3. When the salesperson got the measurements of 21x25 he should have given me the option to order a cooktop where the depth would have fit which would have been a 21 ¾ depth. Frigidaire has one that has a 21 3/4 depth which is the same price. 4. The installer should not have cut the tile to accommodate a cooktop that did not fit.

Should get a zero

Should get a zero rating
While parking my car their driver started backing his van up to my front end, I beeped and backed up a tiny bit, he kept backing up, coming within inches of my bumper, forcing me out of my spot into the loading zone, then got out of his vehicle sneering at me. I was terrorized and had a panic/anxiety attack.
When I called to complain I was irate and still in the throws of anxiety, literally crying and shaken by the experience. I was passed around to several people who said “he would never do that, he is our star service man”
he may be good to their immediate customers, however, his behavior on the street was honestly terrifying and they completely dismissed my complaint . . . really poor way to treat a person who could become a customer.
I purchased my new refrigerator from a competitor a few months later.
