Hello, today I visited Orpington branch. We bought 2 armchair with footstool. Our comfort specialist Jon. He said every single detail for us. I fell like diamonds shop. When I went Amsterdam I visited Royal Coster Diamond factory people like Jon tell every detail and check which color which size which look is true …. I’m so happy buy my armchair HSL and meet with Jon thank you soo much . Quality is never an accident

Knew what we wanted but needed professional advice before choice and purchase. Came from Jon at the Orpington branch who was informative without being pushy. Simple - deal done - thanks Jon.

HSL store and staff excellent. A relaxed, friendly and pleasant purchasing experience.
I bought a Burrows relax chair, Model Dual R&R. I was told these chairs are made to order hence the waiting time and they are certainly not cheap so I was dissapointed to notice that I appeared to be leaning to the right when I sat down. On close inspection it is quite obvious that the seat cushion is leaning to one side.
HSL put me in touch with a third party company who deal with problems and they are booked to visit.
It is a concern to me that a new chair costing more than £2,000 is immediately in need of remedial work and I question if thorough checks are carried out before dispatch. On delivery the guy who installed the chair commented that he needed to check the cables because sometimes the factory staff are less than careful with routing the cables away from the mechanism.
A couple of points to note that would improve the user experience.
1) The on/off switch on the side of the remote control is very hard to slide to the point that it would prove difficult to operate for someone with frail hands.
2) A memory function on the remote control would be a real bonus so the seat could automatically be restored to the previous seating position.

Staff at show room were patient with me[a very old lady with hearing problems].I was able to take home fabric samples to see what would meld in with present furniture.
The men who delivered my chair were patient too.

Ros quickly worked out what we needed and guided us to making a very nice 3 piece suite.

We wanted seats with high backs but did not realise that seats had a choice of heights.

We visited the Orpington branch today to buy an adjustable bed. Christine and John were very welcoming and made the whole experience relaxed and easy. They explained the options and did not pressure us at all. They even provide coffee and biscuits. Excellent service.
There was a small car park at the back of the store which was very helpful.

Ros was very professional in her knowledge and knew exactly what she was talking about and showed us all products instead of the cheapest or most expensive, this gave us a wide choice to select from. Very happy with her customer service too.

When we arrived we were made very welcome. There was no pushing you to buy you could take your time to look around and try the different chairs which were their. Christine who went through every thing was great and there were no problems. We are now waiting for our chair arrive good service.

On 11.02.2026 I purchased a Glenmore armchair. This was on my second visit. The first visit, the week before, I called in the view and seek assitance and that is what I got. 5-star assistance. I was met by Ellie, who enquired what I was looking for, and she eventually showed me the type of chair I should consider, given my height. I was left to sit in the 4 styles shown to me to make up my mind. I was offered tea and biscuits as well. I made some enquiries of Ellie, who answered them without issue. When I had to leave to attend another appoinment I did so and returned later. I was seen by Christine, who was equallt and as helpfull. She provided a quote, and I went off to consider this. On 11/02/2026, I returned to purchase mt chair. Christine was present and sevred me. She answered a few questions and them the deal was done. The whole experience was (excuse the pun) comfortable. Both ladies were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They made me feel like I was the person who needed help and assistance, something not often felt in high streets these days. All in all, a truly pleasant visit and purchase. I shall now wait for delivery.
