This was the fourth time I had used…

This was the fourth time I had used Hurr for an awards ceremony. The app is easy to use and offers a great selection at varing price points. Once ordered delivery was on time and the dress was perfect. Posting back is easy and straightforward. An all round easy and great experience.

Absolutely love hiring through Hurr

Absolutely love hiring through Hurr. I’ve worn some beautiful dresses from designers like Vampire’s Wife, Rixo and Pink City Prints. Overall the experience has been fantastic. I have had one disappointment when a managed dress didn’t get returned and I was left without anything to wear for one of my best friend’s weddings leaving me in a bit of a last minute panic. I do think the postage and returns charges could be more transparent. What you see on the listing is not the price you pay. BUT it’s a great service which I’ll definitely continue to use.

I’ve rented through HURR several times…

I’ve rented through HURR several times now and found it incredibly easy and a great experience. I’ve used other similar platforms and had rentals cancelled at the last minute and never had that through HURR. Having managed listings, makes delivery so slick and returns the easiest possible.

Fraud attempts

I received a message in my HURR inbox after uploading a product to rent. It was a QR code, saying that I needed to follow the ID verification steps using the code. After following the steps I received a message via WhatsApp from someone claiming to be HURR explaining what I needed to do for ID verification. All this led to attempts of fraud on my card which now blocked as payments tried to be made from it. Beware if you receive a similar message.

Thank you for sharing this - we’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how worrying this must have been.

HURR has robust security measures in place, including automated systems and active team monitoring to detect and prevent suspicious behaviour. While online scams are unfortunately becoming increasingly sophisticated and affect all marketplaces, incidents such as this are extremely rare on HURR and any suspicious activity is identified and dealt with very quickly.

To help protect our community, we have a pinned safety notice at the top of all HURR message threads reminding users not to share personal information or click external links. We also never carry out ID verification via WhatsApp or ask users to complete verification through external links.

As soon as this activity was identified, we immediately blocked the account involved, strengthened our keyword filters and additional safeguards, and proactively contacted the small number of individuals who were messaged, in addition to the warning notice already displayed within the platform.

We take security extremely seriously and continuously monitor and strengthen our systems to protect our community.

Dreadful customer service

Informed item was damaged and asked to choose alternative, then told it was now OK. Received, it was damaged (loads of stones missing from motif and on dress) 3 days before event repeated requests for help, ignored and charged anyway. Great idea, dreadful execution. V stressful, wasted loads of time choosing alternative to be ignored and left without decent outfit for an event, even though I'd ordered it to arrive 3 days in advance!

We’re very sorry to hear how stressful this experience was, particularly so close to your event.

This item should not have arrived in the condition described and we sincerely apologise that it did. All pieces undergo quality checks between rentals, and issues of this nature are exceptionally rare across the thousands of rentals we fulfil. In this instance, the dress clearly required further repair before being sent and did not meet the standard we expect.

We remained in contact with you after delivery and, once we had reviewed the condition concerns, we issued a full refund to ensure this was resolved for you.

We fully appreciate how disappointing this must have felt given you had ordered in advance to avoid exactly this situation.

We have reviewed this internally to ensure our quality control processes remain as strong as possible.

First time renting through Hurr

First time renting through Hurr, rented a stunning top by Paco Rabanne. The lender made it very easy sending early so I had time to try it on and letting me send back on a Monday when the rental ended on the Sunday. Doing this for environmental reasons but still being able to have something new for events

Another great rental from Hurr. My managed item arrived early and looked as good as new. Really easy process and a great alternative to buying an outfit for a special occassion. This was my third birthday renting and I do reccommend.

Extremely poor customer service & unfair refusal of Fit Guarantee

I had a very disappointing experience with HURR’s customer service and Fit Guarantee process.
I rented a dress in December which did not fit. When I went to use the Fit Guarantee, the option was greyed out on the website, meaning I physically could not submit a request through the platform. I immediately contacted both the lender and HURR customer service on the day I actually received the item. The lender advised that Fit Guarantee decisions sit with HURR and that I should wait for their guidance.
HURR took days to respond due to “backlogs”. During this time, I retained the dress specifically because I was waiting for their instructions. As soon as I received a response telling me to return it, I sent it back immediately at my own expense using next-day delivery.
Despite this, HURR have refused the refund on the basis that the return fell outside their 24-hour window — a delay caused by:
Their Fit Guarantee function not working
Their slow response times
Confusion around an attempted delivery being treated as the start date, even though I did not receive the item until later
I raised this promptly, followed all instructions given, escalated it formally, and even contacted the lender immediately — who told me to contact HURR. I am now £85 out of pocket for an item that was never worn and returned in perfect condition.
Penalising customers for platform failures and delayed support responses is extremely unfair. Policies should allow for common-sense exceptions, especially when the customer has acted promptly and in good faith throughout.
I would not recommend HURR based on this experience, particularly if you are relying on the Fit Guarantee.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry for the frustration this caused and understand how disappointing this must have felt, particularly when you were trying to follow the correct process.

We’d like to acknowledge that response times were slower than usual over the Christmas period due to seasonal backlogs, and we’re sorry for the additional uncertainty this created.

To clarify the delivery timing, the rental was booked to start on Sunday. As delivery partners do not deliver on Sundays, the item was dispatched by the lender early and a delivery attempt was made on Saturday to ensure it arrived in time for the rental start date.

In terms of our Fit Guarantee, refunds are available where an item is returned within 24 hours of the rental start date or within 24 hours of delivery, whichever is later. Unfortunately, in this case the item was posted back four days after the rental start date, which falls outside the Fit Guarantee window. Once this window has passed, the lender is entitled to be compensated for the rental period while the item is held.

We understand why this felt unfair from your perspective, particularly given the issues you experienced accessing the Fit Guarantee option and the timing of our response. We appreciate that you acted promptly and in good faith, and we’re sorry this situation resulted in disappointment.
