Beware of whopping import duties if delivering outside the UK

The interaction and experience directly with Icons was excellent with responsive and professional staff.
The product received (and purchased as a gift) was exactly as advertised and arrived promptly.
I was however hugely disappointed and outraged to receive a monstrous bill from the courrier company used by Icons for the delivery of the product despite already having paid Icons almost GBP 98 in 'shipping and handling'. The courrier company then charged me an additional amount several times the shipping charge on supposed import duties, using a calculation that did not make sense. Having reported it to Icons, I would have expected the company to be more proactive in looking into this with their chosen courrier company. Buyers should be alerted to this beforehand.

Thank you for your review and for your kind comments regarding our service and the product - we genuinely appreciate that.

However, we would like to clarify an important point for both yourself and future customers reading this.

Customs duties and import taxes are completely independent of Icons and are set by the destination country’s authorities, not by us or our courier. These charges are a legal requirement on international shipments and are outside of our control.

We also make customers aware of the possibility of such charges at checkout and within our FAQs prior to purchase. The amount charged is determined by local customs and can vary, which is why we are unfortunately unable to predict or influence it.

While we did review your query at the time, we are not able to intervene in or alter customs decisions made by third-party authorities.

We’re really pleased to hear that you were happy with both the item and the service you received, but we do feel it’s important that responsibility for customs charges is accurately represented.

All of our items are carefully packaged to protect them in transit, however unfortunately on rare occasions damage can occur during delivery with the courier.

5 stars all the way, no question! As a long-time sports memorabilia collector, I’m absolutely stoked with the quality of my Icons purchase. The items are exactly as described, in perfect shape, and the framing work is top-tier—total love for that.

Just a couple quick notes, nothing major at all:
First, shipping was a little slower than I expected, probably because you guys do the custom framing after the order comes in, right? Totally get it, and it’s not a big deal for me at all—I wasn’t in a rush, so it’s all good.

Second, I’ve got a suggestion that I think would be a game-changer for collectors like me. A lot of us pick up vintage Icons pieces (10, 15, even 20 years old) from the secondary market, and right now, we have to send them off to third-party authenticators like PSA in the US just to verify they’re real Icons products. It’s a huge hassle, extra cost, and a total pain. It would be amazing if Icons could launch an official in-house authentication service for your own historical items. And honestly, we collectors would totally be fine paying for this service—no problem at all. It would add so much value, protect your brand’s reputation, and make our lives way easier.

Overall, this is an awesome company with amazing products, and I’m so happy to be a customer. 10/10 would recommend to every collector out there, and I can’t wait to see this authentication service become a reality down the line!

Poor Communication

I ordered a signed jersey, and it did not arrive in the condition it should have. I reported the issue immediately.
Only after following up multiple times did we realize that Icons had been replying to me, but the emails apparently were not getting through.
We agreed on a solution: the package would be collected, repaired, and then shipped again.
Several days have passed since that email, and once again I have received no response.
I am therefore requesting that Icons.com respond to my emails through this channel.

I bought a framed signed shirt

I bought a framed signed shirt, no communication from sender after it was bought, package was left outside of the house without any notification, it arrived with scratched frame and unmounted (perhaps due to delivery). Extremely disappointing for a purchase of this magnitude. I have bought articles here before and never had an experience this bad.

I’m really sorry to hear about your experience – especially given the value of the item and your previous positive orders with us. That’s certainly not the standard we aim to deliver.

We do usually send tracking details and delivery updates to the email address and contact number provided at checkout. However, unless we’re made aware of a major issue with a shipment, we wouldn’t typically reach out directly during transit.

That said, the condition the item arrived in and the lack of notification from the courier is obviously disappointing, and we completely understand your frustration. Signed and dedicated Luis Suarez photo

I've ordered a signed and dedicated photo from Luis Suarez.
From start to finish i got help and answers for all my questions and wishes. Especially Alfie was my guy! He helped me with everything.
Really happy with the dedicated photo, even with a photoproof of Suarez holding it was included in the COA, which is really nice.
In general im just happy with Icons.com and Icons VIP for many years.

We’re sorry to hear this has caused concern. The charge you’ve received from FedEx isn’t a second shipping fee, but customs and duty charges applied by your local authorities when importing goods. These fees are set and collected by the courier on behalf of customs, and unfortunately aren’t controlled or received by us.

We do aim to make this clear at checkout and in our FAQs, though we understand it can still come as a surprise.

Legendary Vieri autograph delivered to Shanghai

I decided to treat myself to a shirt signed by the legendary Christian Vieri (Bobo) — a true icon of the 90s and the pride of Italian national team! I ordered from ICONS.COM and was pleasantly surprised by the delivery speed. I live in Shanghai, and the parcel arrived in literally 7 days. The tracking worked from day one, and there were no issues with customs at all.
The packaging was perfect: a rigid plastic case (capsule) containing the signed shirt and the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) with all the holograms.
I'm really happy with my purchase. You can trust this store; they handle deliveries to China perfectly. Now I'll be looking for more items to add to my collection. Forza Italia!

Messi's signed photo plate !!

I'm so thrilled to get Messi's memorabilia that I always wanted since I was a child. It's the third time I ordered signed items from Icons, and I'm pleased with my purchases. I've always received everything very well packed and without issues. All was perfect.
I got my golden pieces at a wonderful discount price that is never bad. Thanks, Icons, for always making offers that we can afford and fulfilling our dreams.

Icons is currently the premier sports memorabilia company, offering expert authentication services. They provide guarantees for any autographed jersey produced by Icons, which I believe demonstrates the utmost respect for the market and collectors alike. I've had several of my collectible jerseys authenticated through them. Those with complete documentation were processed swiftly, though one took a bit longer due to unclear materials I initially provided. Once I supplemented the original order with the order number, they promptly confirmed it. This reflects the responsible approach of the Icons team, truly safeguarding every jersey that comes from Icons!

One star for the offering, yet, the rest was disastrous. I wish there is an EU shop, perhaps idea for someone to compete with icons.com. Handling company seemed to be more involved in resolving then icons.com support team, they just don't care, poor service, misleading info about shipping and handling.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m genuinely sorry that you feel our support was poor - that’s never the experience we want any customer to have.

With regard to the specific questions you raised, many of them related directly to courier procedures and customs handling. In those cases, we are often required to refer to the courier’s own terms and conditions, as those elements sit outside of our direct control. That said, we completely understand how frustrating that can feel from a customer’s perspective.

We also want to apologise for not making it clear at the time that we use AM World/FedEx for certain shipments. There was an error on our site wording, and we accept that this may have contributed to the confusion around shipping and handling. That is on us, and we’re sorry for that lack of clarity.

I have personally emailed you to offer my direct apologies and to see if there is anything further I can do to assist. We do care very much about our customers, and while international shipping can sometimes involve third-party processes, we should always communicate those details clearly.

My shipment came overseas in a plastic bag

I received the package of the signed goalie glove and letter of authenticity. I have bought memorabilia in the past from many vendors and this was the first time I received product from overseas that was shipped in a plastic bag. The letter of authenticity is mangled and really can not be given with this gift, so it makes the whole process less valuable and for the price, a box really isn't that much cost. If you are going to send a letter with the product at least make it look professional. I doubt I would trust another shipment overseas.
UPDATE - Icons corrected the issue as soon as I reviewed. I was shipped a new Letter of Authenticity by DHL and it showed up in perfect condition.
