Payroll Error and Unsatisfactory Response
We've had good service from Intelligent Payroll for the past 2 years but this week they made a mistake. That in itself is not the issue; the issue is how they've responded.
Firstly they have not accepted there was an error despite having to re-run the payroll after we pointed out that the salaries in the pay run were incorrect.
Secondly as can be seen from their e-mail responses below, there's no apology whatsoever:
"Very strange, I have now re-processed as agreed - you will have received amended reports"
and when asked what went wrong:
"I've raised it with our software provider as it was removed from our list to automatically run,
I'm fairly certain it's a system issue however it could be that I missed removing it from the list!"
Finally, we found it very tacky to then receive the £14 processing invoice 30 seconds later. We would have expected them not to charge us this relatively small fee as a gesture of goodwill but alas no.
We have recommended Intelligent Payroll to other companies previously. We can no longer do that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review regarding our services.
I wanted to take this opportunity to apologise for the error that occurred and the subsequent response.
Let me take the time to respond directly to your points,
On your first point, we have now confirmed that the error occurred due to a system issue and the error was corrected within 15 minutes of this being flagged - this error would have been automatically fixed as part of our standard checks.
Regarding the email response, as confirmed, it was a system issue and not a human error.
Regarding the fees, I can understand you trying to receive a discount on fees but the fees were already agreed for the work and the position of the payroll is as expected and already agreed.
In light of the above and as a gesture of goodwill, I have requested a refund for you.
I was a little disappointed that you left a 2-star review after your previous thoughts of,
"May we take the opportunity to thank you for running our payroll so effectively this past couple of years."
I feel the review could more accurately reflect our service throughout the past two years and disappointed that the small (and quickly fixed) error resulted in such a low rating.
As you know as a small business, we rely on reviews from our clients and this was disheartening to receive when we did our best to fix it.
I wanted to thank you for your custom and wish you the best for the future.

Intelligent Payroll are fantastic, the transition from us running our own payroll to them taking over was quick and painless, they have an expert team who are always on hand to help and all are highly knowledgeable. The headache I used to have each month has been taken away and transformed into 3 easy quick steps and I am left knowing that everything is filed correctly. I would highly recommend them.

The people at Intelligent Payroll are very patient and polite. They are experienced and talented. The system works really well and is easy to use. It has taken so much pressure off me using their services. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Reliable, timely, well organised, stress free
Minhaz and the team managed a payroll transition spanning a few months for us in an absolutely seamless manner. The service and knowledge offered to us were exemplary, which we found comforting during what could have been a very stressful time. I'd completely recommend Intelligent Payroll 10/10!
