Absolutely unacceptable service from the Sri Lanka Telecom Fiber call center (1212).
Firstly, your app is completely useless—it does not support even basic functions like changing packages and is clearly outdated. Customers are forced to call because your digital services fail.
After waiting on hold for over 15 minutes, I finally connected to an agent—only to experience even worse service. Despite clearly stating that I wanted the entertainment package cancelled after activating the unlimited package, the agent went ahead and deactivated it immediately while I was still speaking. This is not just poor service, it is careless and unprofessional.
To make things worse, I was then told that a billing complaint would be raised if the package gets activated again—meaning I could still be charged due to your own mistake. Why should a customer bear the risk for your staff’s incompetence?
This entire experience reflects a serious lack of training, accountability, and customer care. Long wait times, a non-functional app, and agents who do not listen—this is unacceptable for a service provider of this scale.
Extremely disappointed. This needs immediate attention and corrective action.

I am very disappointed with the customer service experience I recently had. During my call, the agent asked for information that I didn't have with me. I politely told her I would quickly check with my sister and asked her to wait a moment.
However, she said they were busy and told me to call back once I had the details. I explained that I had already waited about 15 minutes for my call to be answered and asked for a little patience. Unfortunately, the agent hung up instead of helping me further.
I believe customer service should involve understanding and reasonable support, especially after a customer has already waited a long time. It is hard to anticipate all the information needed without guidance during the call.
This experience was disappointing and didn't meet the level of professionalism I expected.
They seem to be throttling their unlimited packages?

The internet packages they offer you with limited GB seem to work fine (most of the time).
But their unlimited packages are mostly a nightmare to use, due to how slow the connection is.
The internet is slow no matter what time of day or night I try to use it (So I do not buy the 'busy period' excuse for slow speeds).
I have a fibre connection and do not gain any real benefit from it.
Those who are from abroad and come to stay in SL for extended periods, and need an internet connection, should be aware of this.

Unlimited fiber optic connection. Absolutely trash speed! Less than 15 MB/s. I also get random disconnection and no internet for more than a day or 2. Package is close to 50 USD price tag.

Worst customer support ever!!
My internet connection has been down for last 2 weeks. I lodged 6 complaints and all 6 times they said that they would get back to me and they filed it as an 'emergency case'. I decided to stay in Sri Lanka for a couple of months but now I am deciding to go back to Europe cause I cannot do my work properly without a proper internet connection and unfortunately SLT is the only broadband provider in this area.

Most terrible service of all of this companies history. I have a ADSL mega-line. the connection is really really really poor. disconnecting from time to time. and around 80% of the time connections speed feels like dragging heavy boulder on the beach.

I had a terrible experience with SLT. The connection often didn’t work properly, and their customer service never responded to my complaints. After three years, they suddenly started calling my home demanding outstanding payments, which I don't know and even though I’ve been living abroad. I’ve tried to contact them by email multiple times with no reply. Now they keep calling and inconveniencing my family at home. Extremely poor service — I strongly advise others not to use any connection from them.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. They keep transferring the call to different departments for hours and then proceed to end the call without resolving your problem. I haven't had internet for 3 days and they have done nothing about it.
Unethical company: avoid at all costs
Awful customer service. Charged for services I have never recieved. Difficult to ever find anyone to discuss difficulties with. People only use this company as there is no choice. Every month I feel I am being misled.
SLT Fibre sucks
SLT Fibre sucks. Data vanishes all of sudden. Third day of the month, 65GB gone. I just added 5GB and vanished. Just kids are there at home and watched YouTube, that is also with added social media plan. I have no idea why SLT doing like this. For the last 4 months I have paid total 50000 bill. Pathetic. I’m going to disconnect damn connection. Never ever recommend to anyone. Just tried to call from mobile to clarify this, and it prompts to call from the landline. So I have to go home to call them. Never ever SLT.
If you’re considering SLT hosting, Stay Away!
If you’re considering SLT Mobitel hosting, my honest advice is don’t. This has been one of the most unprofessional and unreliable hosting services I’ve ever dealt with. Accounts get suspended randomly without warning, often for absurd reasons like “resource overuse” or “disk overuse,” even when you’re well below the limits. To make matters worse, WHMCS shows one set of stats while Plesk shows something completely different.
Customer support is practically non-existent. I opened an urgent ticket on a weekday morning it’s been over 24 hours and still no response. When they do reply, very slow, unhelpful, or outright dismissive. This is not a service you can rely on for any serious business hosting. The servers themselves are outdated, sluggish, and far behind modern standards.
If you value your website, your email, or your business, do yourself a favor and stay far away from SLT Mobitel hosting. It’s nothing but wasted time and endless frustration.

One of the Worst Telecom Services in Sri Lanka – Unreliable and Unresponsive
Sri Lanka Telecom has proven to be one of the most unreliable service providers I’ve ever dealt with. The 4G signal is extremely weak or non-existent in my area, and despite submitting multiple complaints, the issue remains unresolved. Each time, they simply close the complaint without even checking with me — zero accountability.
What’s even more frustrating is their outdated customer service model. Instead of offering a solution over the phone or online, they insist that I visit their office — as if the problem is mine to solve. On top of that, they told me to go to the original store where I purchased the device. How is that acceptable in 2025?
There’s no proper communication method, no real support, and no intention to fix their own issues. It feels like they’re doing everything they can to avoid taking responsibility. For anyone considering SLT for internet or telecom needs — I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
Worst connection
Your service is absolutely pathetic. We pay for this service—it’s not some free favor you're doing. So where exactly is that money going? You keep selling routers and packages, but don’t invest in proper infrastructure. Build towers, fix your network—do something useful for once.
This isn’t the first time, but today was the worst. Your connection keeps dropping at critical times. It’s unreliable, frustrating, and completely unprofessional. People in Sri Lanka are trying to move forward, and your poor service is holding them back. You’re making life harder for everyone.
Fix your service before selling anything else. Right now, it’s a joke.

Horrible Experience with Siyol Pocket Router – A Total Waste of Money and Time!
I’ve had the most frustrating experience with the Siyol Pocket Router. Within just six months of purchasing it, the device stopped working multiple times. Despite it being under warranty, all they do is "repair and return"—no replacement, no real solution. As a working professional, I simply don’t have the time to repeatedly visit their regional office just to get the same issue fixed again and again.
The router barely functions as expected. The connection is unstable, the speed is poor, and it randomly disconnects. It has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience, especially when I rely on a stable internet connection for work.
To make matters worse, the staff at the service center and customer care are not helpful at all. They don’t seem equipped to handle customer issues professionally. The whole process is a waste of time, energy, and money.
I strongly advise others – please do not buy this product. The Siyol Pocket Router has been nothing but a source of post-purchase regret. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay away from it!

Ongoing WiFi router issue for a month now …
I have been using the SLT-Mobitel WiFi router for almost a year now, and it worked fine until about a month ago. Since then, I’ve been facing continuous issues with the connection.
I’ve contacted SLT-Mobitel multiple times through phone calls and emails, but still, no proper solution has been given. Every time I reach out, they just say they will fix it or get back to me, but nothing actually happens.
What’s more disappointing is that even though the issue hasn’t been resolved, they keep reminding me to pay the monthly bill on time. It feels very unfair to be charged for a service that isn’t working properly.
I really hope they take customer complaints more seriously and deliver on the promises they make.

The worst company i have seen in Sri Lanka. They give a fibre line when they giving this do not mention any terms like i can’t withdraw line for 2 years like things. When i want to withdraw the line i went to kurungl branch and settled the bill and the agent in the seat said ok sir we will terminate the line and i give them back the fibre router also they don’t mention about a letter i want give to them for requesting the withdrawal of line but after 2 years one lady call me and said i have to pay nearly 17 000 LKR this company billed for 2 years and i even don’t know about this and the lady talk to me talking like we are dogs that how their customer service is. Don’t get any connection of this company
