Did a DaySkipper theory and practical courses + VHF course, got my ICC and radio license. In general very happy with both certification side and practical side of the experience. It was 5 of us on the boat (fluid3) and there were plenty of time to practice.

We joined Ionianmode for a combined Coastal Skipper, SRC, and Competent Crew course from their Lefkada base. Our sailing yacht was a 49-foot, four-cabin vessel from 2007.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and departed on schedule the following day. The food on board was simple but good quality, although most breakfasts and dinners were taken ashore.

The training was excellent, and the mix of Competent Crew and Coastal Skipper students worked surprisingly well. The instructors were professional, supportive, and created a great learning environment throughout the trip.

During the course, a few onboard systems stopped working. None of the issues were serious, but they did affect comfort at times. What stood out, however, was the company’s responsiveness: at nearly every stop, a technician was already waiting with the necessary replacement parts, which showed a high level of professionalism and organization.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Ionianmode for their professionalism, kindness, quality instruction, and the beautiful Lefkada sailing area.

Just completed a week on board Fluid 111 with Ionian Mode for my Day Skipper certification.
The location and islands we visited are all stunning, the yacht well prepared and most importantly the crew Knowledgable and friendly.
Special mention to our Skipper Jack who has a real talent for teaching and instruction.

Theory course for Day Skipper is demanding but George made it interesting for all the 5 days. Geoff our Skipper and Coach for the practical part was also excellent !

I had my day skipper course with Ionianmode and it wasn’t a great experience. There were too many people on the boat. The boats are old and most of the equipment is at the end of its useful life. The instructor (due to number of people) had barely any time for individual instructions. If you are looking for a day skipper course in the Ionian find someone else.

I recently came back from a 2 week Competent Crew + Day Skipper course.
I pretty well loved every minute of my time on Fluid III (our boat)
It was fun, educational and spectacular. The places you visit and the people you meet is just phenomenal!!!
It's a lot to do it all in 2 weeks but it's worth it!!

I started on the 25th May ended on the 7th June!

It's an experience of a lifetime!!!

Perfect training trip at the ionian!

Having that dream of sailing across the oceans for many many years now, my wife and I decided to give it a serious try, with the idea of getting not only a license, but also real experience, fun and a good time at a beautiful location to sail.
Thanks to ionianmode we got it all. Allen, our skipper, did an extremely good job as an instructor, I highly recommend him. Training was serious, no way around knowledge and practice, but always with the right balance of duty and pleasure. We enjoyed learning, practicing and boat life.
George, the owner of the company, takes good care of quality and does the brand of RYA all due honors.
