Excellent service and goods, but let down by your delivery partner.
The service and goods received from Ironmongery Plus Ltd were excellent.
I only gave 3 out of 5 because your delivery company failed to follow my instructions to leave the parcel in a safe location, and instead, left the delivery at the local post office. This necessitated a car journey in heavy traffic to collect it. Poor delivery service.

Sincere apologies for this! We understand how annoying this has been for you. Our Director Andrew McKenna called you yesterday, and left an answer-phone message for you explaining why this had happened.
Essentially this fell through our usual ordering processes, due to a supplier/back-order situation. Our processes should have coped with it, but human error intervened.
Your goods will be with you in 2 days, and we have raised a full refund for all costs that you incurred.

All items were well packaged and came undamaged.
Customer service was top draw, an issue came up and was sorted with ease. Even when I contacted customer service through email with a query, the response was really quick.

The service from the Ironmongery Plus team is second to none. They go out of their way to help and you can always talk to a real person on the other end of the phone. We have used them for numerous products during our home refurbishment and every order has been completed quickly and at a good price. They are always happy to give advice with when needed and have been a pleasure to deal with.

A company worth using!
The overall experience was good and I would use this company again without hesitation. However, two things marred the transaction. The first is minor, but there was no communication about dispatch of the order. This meant that it was a pleasant surprise that the goods arrived promptly, but it would have been useful to have known when to expect delivery. The second complaint is that the delivery was surcharged because I live north of Perth! The Highlands are served by good roads and an efficient local delivery network. There is no justification for surcharging deliveries to this region when goods are sent greater distances to the South of England without surcharge. In general a good experience and I would recommend using this company.

You should get notification on the day of delivery as to when the goods are expected to arrive from Parcelforce. We will investigate why this did not happen.
Parcelforce also set the delivery charges, which we have no control over. Unfortunately the Highlands attract a higher charge than other parts of the UK.
Although not a perfect 5 we appreciate your recommendation!

Parcel force has not delivered or left a note. You guys do not respond to emails or inquiries. Absolutely rubbish service for several hundred pounds of hardware I’ll probably never see.
