Serious Warning: Missing Debit Cards, Lost Bank Access, and Approximately $23,000 Unaccounted For

I hired James Baker & Associates Corp to assist with opening Bank of America personal and business accounts for me and Tech Aabid LLC. I paid a $2,500 account-opening fee and approximately four months of the agreed $250 monthly service fee for card forwarding, tax assistance, and ongoing company support.

My dealings involved James Baker’s representative Marlin and Ricardo/JBCPA, to whom James Baker’s side directed me through WhatsApp.

Both debit cards were delivered to James Baker CPA’s address for forwarding to me. However, I never received or activated either card—even after waiting more than three months.

At that time, my personal account contained approximately $20,000 and my Tech Aabid LLC business account approximately $3,000. I later received low-balance alerts indicating that both accounts had fallen below $100, and I also lost access to my online banking.

I did not authorize anyone to activate or use the cards, withdraw or transfer these funds, change my login credentials, or modify my registered phone number or email. I also did not knowingly provide any authorization code. To the best of my knowledge, the only authorized persons associated with the accounts were myself and James Baker.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, I have not received a satisfactory explanation regarding:

* Who received and retained my debit cards;
* Whether the cards were activated and by whom;
* How I lost access to online banking;
* How approximately $23,000 became unavailable across the two accounts; and
* Why my emails and messages have largely been ignored.

Instead of urgently helping resolve the missing cards, lost access, and funds, Ricardo/JBCPA continued requesting the $250 monthly fee. I stopped paying only after months of not receiving the cards and essential support services.

A formal bank investigation must determine exactly how the funds were removed and identify everyone involved. Nevertheless, James Baker’s office received my confidential bank cards, failed to forward them, had authorized involvement with the accounts, and has not adequately explained what happened.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend James Baker & Associates Corp, Ricardo/JBCPA, Marlin, or any associated service provider. I strongly advise prospective clients never to allow a third party to receive their debit cards, control banking credentials, manage security information, or become an authorized person without strict written safeguards.

I have preserved my WhatsApp conversations, emails, payment records, bank alerts, and other supporting evidence for Bank of America, review platforms, law-enforcement agencies, and relevant authorities.

This matter remains extremely serious and unresolved.

I've been working with James Baker & Associates for several years now, and it's always been a pleasure. They're punctual, communicate clearly, and are always supportive and helpful.

I used James Baker & Associates for my LLC setup, mail forwarding, and ITIN application. The ITIN took about a year. That is the headline, but the pattern was the same across every service they touched.

I paid up front. Then nothing. No confirmation of submission, no tracking number, no proof my application ever reached the IRS. Every update I got came only because I chased for it, and the answer was always some version of "we're prioritizing it." Most of my emails were never answered at all. Communication is the real failure here. You end up managing the company you already paid.

Mail forwarding was a nightmare. Slow, and it felt like nobody was actually checking the box.

I had to chase them for my own Wyoming annual report. No reminder, no nudge. That's the kind of thing I'm paying a registered agent to stay on top of.
The operating agreement was a generic template. Typos in it, and a few clauses that made no sense for how my company is set up.

One fair thing. They extended my address lease at no charge because the ITIN dragged on so long. Credit where it's due.

But that's a patch, not a fix. If I had known this meant a year of chasing, I would have used someone else from the start.

If you need a provider you can actually rely on, look elsewhere.

This is a complete scam. As a non-resident founder - i was looking for a solution that could get me payment processor and banking access. I scheduled a 30 minute free call with a certain Moises Uzcategui and explained the business model, also the fact that we are considered a high risk business and a MCC 7273 classified company. They didn't have a solution then so they asked me to write everything down and promised to revert. They reverted in two days and said we cannot guarantee a payment processor but if you schedule a $250 call (discounted from $500) then James Baker himself can speak with you and find a solution. i happily obliged. Meeting with James baker started and the first thing i hear is that , sorry we've read what have shared about your business and we don't have a solution. While $250 isn't such a problem, it is the dishonest approach to doing business that is. Knowing full well that they cannot solve a problem, they decided to spin the yarn just a bit and pocket the money for absolutely nothing.

James and his whole team are fantastic. Not only do the organise the whole process with setting up your company, they really keep on top of everything and more importantly follow up with you to make sure you as the owner are informed of special timelines and deadlines if you are unaware. For someone like me who is constantly juggling a lot they keep you in check. Highly recommend and worth the price for the value add.

Hi James. I had a brief zoom call with one of your associates, Joshua, today. Well, let's just say, this probably wasn't his day. :( Even though I clearly wrote down in my request what I seek help with, based on your YouTube videos, his first sentence was, "well, we can't help with that, we serve businesses", (in a surprisingly cold and disinterested manner), to which my first thought was, "then why did I rush home to make this zoom call and why are we having this conversation?"
Then he proceeded to tell me that I won't be able to change my residential address with my bank unless I am in the US in person, which is false (I'm an expat, currently living overseas). In the meantime I'm not sure what he was doing but his eyes were darting all over the screen (either he was playing a videogame or was in the middle of an app/chat, not sure) and one had the feeling he was not paying attention whatsoever. There were awkwardly long pauses between his short sentences. Quite frankly, I don't think I've ever received such bad customer service here in the US.

I give you permission to use that recorded phone call during associate trainings, to teach the new colleagues how NOT TO handle a case.
