No respect for the goods being transported.

I dealt with a very nice lady throughout the process, although it seemed everything was down to the client from the form filling to loading the lorry and unloading the lorry, eventually I paid extra on the receiving end for an extra man to help put my belongings into safe storage as I was not following the Lorry to its destination, well when I arrived at my storage facility, most of my boxes had been damaged, the goods had just been placed into the storage with no care taken and many of my boxes were water damaged. and to top it all I was never even informed that my goods had arrived safely. I have drawn a line under it all now, but I have certainly learnt a big lesson regarding removal companies , it was a very stressful experience.

I have reviewed the photos taken after unloading, and I can confirm that our team stacked the goods in the storage unit according to the available space. I also noticed that nearly half of the items did not have any protective wrapping. With the service you selected, packing is not included, and all packing and protection are the customer’s responsibility unless our packing service is added.

Regarding the additional helper on the delivery end, we provided you with the available options in advance. As you decided not to accompany the driver to the destination, we arranged an extra helper at your request to ensure your belongings were safely moved into storage.

I would also like to reassure you that I will investigate the matter of the water damage you mentioned, as this should not have happened under any circumstances.

Experience with JCL Removals – Missing Staff and Incomplete Service

I booked JCL Removals for an international move in September 2025, including an additional mover who was confirmed and paid in advance.
On the moving day, the extra mover did not appear, and only the driver arrived. Despite my clear agreement and payment, I had to find local help at short notice, which caused major stress and delays.

After my complaint, JCL refunded €200 for the missing staff member but declined any further compensation, citing “circumstances beyond their control.”
While communication was polite and professional, I remain disappointed that the company took no responsibility for the inconvenience caused and the additional effort required.

My overall impression: reliable delivery, but poor contingency management and limited customer support when problems arise.

I fully understand that when you refer to the “missing staff,” you mean the additional helper who had been arranged for your collection. Regrettably, on the morning of the service he informed us of an unexpected family emergency and was unable to attend work. As we explained at the time — and as outlined in the signed Summary of Service — extra helpers are always booked provisionally, as their attendance depends on external availability. Nevertheless, I appreciate how inconvenient the last-minute change must have been for you.

Please accept my most sincere apologies for the disruption this caused during such an important moment as an international relocation. I fully recognise how challenging it must have been to find alternative assistance at short notice, and I am truly sorry that the circumstances placed additional pressure on your plans.

I would also like to highlight that the €200 refund for the absent staff member was processed immediately, without any need for a formal complaint from your side. While we were unfortunately unable to offer further compensation due to the exceptional circumstances beyond our control, we certainly never intended to diminish the inconvenience you experienced or the disappointment you felt.

Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we take it very seriously. We are continuously reviewing and improving our contingency procedures so that unforeseen issues can be managed more seamlessly in the future. Our goal is always to provide a consistently reliable and fully supported service to all our clients.

From beginning to end, the service was quick, reliable, and really professional. From the paperwork and customs clearance to the last day of unloading, the team handled everything professionally. The whole process was stress-free because of the straightforward, quick, and pleasant communication.

I moved to Spain i and was very happy with the service provided by JCL Removals! Throughout the entire process, Peter was very kind and helpful. Even though I had a minor delay, the driver was extremely polite and understanding; they moved the delivery without charging me more.

Customs clearance was one of my main worries, but JCL handled everything with ease, which was really helpful. They made a potentially stressful situation very easy and hassle-free.

I highly recommend JCL Removals to anyone searching for a trustworthy and client-focused business!

Aviso: empresa no fiable y sin sede real en España

Ojo con esta empresa en España. A nosotros nos metieron prisa para pagar la señal, luego incumplieron el contrato y no hicieron la mudanza. No hay forma de recuperar el dinero. Nadie responde ni soluciona nada. Hemos puesto el caso en manos de abogados, pero esta empresa no tiene sede real aquí, solo una interlocutora tipo call center. Si hay problemas legales, tienes que interponer demanda en Reino Unido. Mucho cuidado.

Atrocious

Atrocious! This company trashed our furniture to the cost of several thousand £’s. It's a sub-contract operation - one of the carriers was even drunk. They have nil care or concern for customers goods; when the van was opened there was stuff all over the place - a sideboard was badly damaged, a painting was ruined, a bedside table was broken. They dropped our sofa in rainy puddles which then needed professional cleaning. The response below does not reflect the facts, and given the move was in December 2024 you´d think 10 months would be long enough to show interest in this matter! Insurance claims are pointless because they are limited to €100 per item. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE

Please note that this particular move was carried out under our budget service option, in which the customer is responsible for packing and protecting their own belongings, as well as providing a safe and accessible area for loading and unloading. This service type is designed to help customers reduce moving costs, but it also limits our responsibility for items that are not packed or secured by our trained crew. A Damage Waiver confirming these terms was signed before the transport commenced.

Regarding our insurance procedures, we offer full-value coverage for goods when customers declare the total value of their shipment and select our comprehensive service. However, for each item valued at €100 or more, we require clear photos or video evidence showing the condition of the goods before collection and after delivery. "For each item worth €100 or more, we require photos or videos in clear, visible condition before it is packed and after. If you do not provide this documentation, we may fail to process any possible insurance claims you may have" This policy is in place not to limit claims, but to verify the condition of transported items and ensure any potential claims can be processed correctly and fairly. Without such documentation, insurers may not accept a claim.

We understand how stressful international moves can be, and we genuinely regret any inconvenience caused. Please rest assured that we always do everything within our control to avoid any damage, and all our drivers and crew members are regularly trained to meet professional standards across the UK and EU.

Absolutely shocking!!!
They have no idea what they are doing! I had a lady who was dealing with me and she was super nice all the way through. She was helpful and lovely. But that doesn’t matter when you pay so much money and they are incompetent. They don’t know how to fill the papers out which caused our load to be held back at the border. My partner had to drive there and sort it out and he lost a day of work, a day of pay. I asked them what happened. The answer was ‘that border is super strict’. I’m like what?? You surely have done this before to know what they require… telling me the border is tricky just NOT good enough.
I did ask them if I can complain to someone within their company so I could have told them what they did wrong and figure out why it happened but they completely ignored my message.
Outrageous! Don’t use them!!

Our colleague did explain that certain signatures must be in the correct location, which is why she described the process as “tricky.” This is not a reflection of incompetence but rather the strict procedures imposed by Swiss authorities.

We always strive to assist our clients as much as possible, and our team acted in accordance with the regulations and information provided by customs. We understand this was frustrating and appreciate your understanding that some delays cannot be prevented by our team.

A company worthy of your consideration

From the begining I was hesitant as to whether I should put my trust in a company in which I had no previous knowledge.
From the outset I dealt with JCL Customer representative Maria. What an asset to the company. She fully understood my concerns and made every effort to negate them. Unfortunately during the removal process I suffered a severe medical emergency. Maria showed compassion and empathy. Provided solutions and helped me achieve my aims and objections by removing personal belongings from Spain to Sweden. The driver who assisted in the removal and delivery was also a credit to the company. He was punctual, helpful and most definately professional. For me this was a professional removal company who placed customer satisfaction at the core of their business model. Highly recommend and would certainly use again in the future.
