Great equipment but let down by a few…
Great equipment but let down by a few things.
Smelly toilets. First gym I’ve ever been that doesn’t have a door between the changing rooms and lavatories. The stench is awful.
Music is far too loud and rubbish. It over powers my own, even at full volume to which my phone raises an issue about my hearing health.
The lights dont dim anymore. There use to be a time of night when some of the lights would dim. But that has stopped.

Great gym with a great bunch of trainers!
Been a member for 2 months now. With working 2 jobs and a having a 2 year old I only find time to exercise in my lunch break. I find the classes available at a lunch time great. Kirsty that runs LBT is amazing. She is so supportive and my god she makes you work, there needs to be another LBT class at lunch!! Jake that runs burn on a Friday is awesome and very motivating! To be honest I enjoy all the classes and they are all a great bunch of trainers! Great gym. Thank you all!

No Induction
Have not been given an Induction, should not have to ask.
Don’t see much staff either. Would like some help to get started
The toilets really stink out the changing rooms. Very overpowering odour and nothing is done about it until the end of day.

As a lot of our members join online, not necessarily whilst they are in the gym, we do not make inductions compulsory so you are free to start using the gym immediately after joining if you feel happy to do so. We absolutely do offer them though, so If you would like an induction, please get in touch with your gym directly and a member of the team can help arrange this for you. You can email the manager on Blackburn@jdgyms.co.uk if you cannot manage to find a member of the team next time you are in.
You are also welcome to offer any additional feedback to the team at the same time to rectify any other issues that may be effecting your gym experience.

Good gym
Genuinely a really good, equipment is amazing, gym staff are lovely and will go above and beyond to help you. My only problem is the showers just need a bit more cleaning and the toilets could do with some disinfectant spray for members to use.
Other than that really worth the price that you pay

As our facilities are open and offered to the general public, we cannot leave the chemicals our team use to clean the changing areas. Our team of general assistants and team are trained with the method statements for each individual chemical. We are sure our members would prefer our team to be on the gym floor assisting our members with their goals, rather than training the great people of Blackburn on the safe use of our chemicals😉

Loving the JD Gyn @ Blackburn last week
Hi joined the Blackburn gym last week! Everyone is very friendly, instructors are knowledgeable & encouraging!
Best thing for me is no contract ! Winner! I love the classes ! Lots of variety … would just like to see more body balance in the evening working full time I can’t get to the 2 classes that run in the morning .

Nice Gym experience
JD gym is a pleasant experience from the staff who help to the machines themselves, although my QR code doesn't scan sometimes it's a good gym.
Only thing I wish is that in the Blackburn branch there was more than one cubical for changing. As a user of cubical for changing it's often frustrating when you come back from a strenuous workout and shower only to find the single cubical is occupied for 20 minuits. Obviously this isn't the fault of the other gym member as it's their right to use it but there should be more than one cubical for changing.
Overall all the facilities in the gym are there when needed and pretty much everything is kept in order in terms of weights and tools for cable machine etc.
Pleasent experience would recommend.

So glad I joined…
Had a great tour around the gym before I joined with my son. I’ve only been twice so far but already I feel extremely comfortable there, I’m at the beginning of my journey to improve my fitness so was a bit nervous but it’s a great environment, everyone’s really friendly, plenty of equipment even when it’s busy. I also love the separate women only gym & my son is enjoying the main gym. I’m looking forward to trying some classes.

PT sessions.
Finally made the jump to find myself a PT, and can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve made. I train with the lovely Sam twice a week and then another two times on my own. Sam is so encouraging, patient, explains every piece of equipment so well and makes the session fun. I have a comprehensive plan for the sessions I train on my own. Sam has definitely helped me feel more confident in the gym. I can already start to see results which is so encouraging. Would highly recommend Sam as a PT to anyone.

Fantastic range of equiptment
Fantastic range of equiptment, clean space, helpful and friendly staff and great customer service.
I was unsure about joining and using the facilities as i have type 1 diabetes and wear a CGM and insulin pump.
The staff were more than welcoming and helpful with all the questions i had.
There's showers, sauna, vending machines, mixed gender and female only spaces, classes, PT sessions and more!

Very clean, great range of machines and good vibes. PTs are great, my PT Kirsty is wonderful, helping me to train and setting me workouts and meal plans that benefit my arthiritis.
