Local gym...it's 24 hours now which is good.however I feel there's too many people jogging the machines.filiming themselves which is annoying...maybe need another water area.just one area..otherwise good gym lots of space

I'm enjoying this gym and it's definitely 4 stars but not quite a 5 for its bracket.

Machines are in fine working order, but some are starting to show their age and looking a bit shabby. Some are a bit grubby looking and suffer from the gym not having access to cleaning product/wipes.

There's a good variety of gear but some of the very popular machines, there's only one of e.g. the chest fly - there's constantly a wait for it.

Very good free weights, lots of power racks, a great set of dumbells.

It's a good atmosphere with moody, dark lighting which is alright! Happy with it.

I have recently renewed my membership with JD Gyms. I am 67 and really enjoy going. The staff are lovely and helpful if I need them. Also the gym is very well equipped and clean.

I found the gym is good

It’s amazing, honestly the best gym I’ve been too but if only your guys have had a toilet and changing rooms and a shower room it would be even better because when I work out I need to use the bathroom. The bathroom is the priority. I go to the Edinburgh Westside Plaza JD Gym btw

Plenty of quality equipment, well maintained and well respected by the users of the gym.
No issues or complaints, great value for money.

Well for my first time being in a gym it's been really good staff really nice and thsts what I'm looking for as my anxiety is really bad

It used to be a decent place. Even after the refurbishment and the increased price, it was a nice place to go. However, it has changed. I am going gym to relieve stress and focus on my gains. Not to listen to awfully loud music that goes through my headphones. Often, I need to raise my volume to unhealthy levels to just be able to hear my thoughts. It is not always, but it becomes notorious. Spoke to the manager, and he tried to convince me that sound is always at the same level. I do not think so. 8/10 times, the music is loud like I was in a pub. The manager also told me that music selection and volume are dictated by the owners. Well, I am strongly considering a change. JD is convenient, as close to home, but I might do the extra mile.
Think about people who are going gym because they are rehabbing or so. Not just regulars who are going out every Friday, so they do not care about loud music. Wonder what results we could have if someone measured decibels?
Moreover, the big hall is often occupied by some people who probably rent the space. That is fine, but why because of 3 people, the rest can't use it?
Your management needs more training, as there is definitely a lot of space for improvement.

I think the space and machines are completely fine, albeit a bit worn out. Some machine weights need the numbers filled out again, the attachments to the individual weight pods need replaced(like the rope for example). Otherwise, a good facility.

No hassle joining up. Great gym loads of space and top class equipment, something for everyone and changing facilities are excellent

Big, Clean, Equipped

I think overall the gym is good however i think the lack of classes let's this gym down. Every class I've been to has a different name but all of them are circuits. Previously when I was a member they had so much more variety. Pilates, body pump, etc

Gym is very clean. Staff are very good and helpful and friendly. The manager is great with people. Great environment to train in.

Given that I’ve spent a number of decades involved in customer care it’s very pleasing to note that, while other businesses seem to falter in that area these days, JD Gyms has selected some outstanding members of staff in their Wester Hailes gym on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland who 1) engage well with their customers 2) are very helpful 3) are friendly 4) and are knowledgable. The cherry on top is that they welcome you into the premises with a genuine smile every time. An absolute credit to JD Gyms. This level of professionalism is a wee bit hard to find these days and those members of your team make it an absolute must to keep coming back. In addition the equipment is second to none going by my previous experience in other places. We’ll done indeed you folks…keep it up!
