JD has really deteriorated. I used to love this gym. Machines are constantly broken, most the cable back machines are off all the time or those that work (I use work loosely) are knackered. Whoever so... Ver mais

Unfriendly staff
I have been going to JD gym for many years and never had an issue with any member of staff however during staff turnover where new ones have joined, I’ve found one in particular to be unpleasant. She seems to give dirty looks for no reason, and in a place where you’re supposed to feel comfortable, I’ve found myself feeling quite the opposite. I don’t know if it’s just towards me, or if she does it to other females who go but it is highly unprofessional and has actually stopped me going to the gym as much as I used to and I’ve considered moving to a different gym. I don’t write reviews but it has been on my mind for a while as it’s been happening a lot. The date isn’t specific as it has happened over a period of time.
This isn’t a fake complaint, I have used a fake name and email as I’d rather it not get any worse.

Satisfactory
I was very please with the new system of 24/7, there is plenty of different machines, ladies area and sauna. The only thing I would suggest is to add a clean station (I always bring my own gel and paper from toilet), I can’t imagine myself using a machine that has been used by someone else without a clean.

Just been in Rochdale Gym this morning
Just been in Rochdale Gym this morning, no soap in toilets, no hand gel anywhere and no sign of anyone doing any cleaning of eqpt. Hygiene standards zero. Reported this to staff who said they had non of the above materials. Not what you would expect from a good quality gym.

Sauna time should be increase.
All gym equipments are up to date. And i recommend that please do Sauna open till at least 1am.

Clean away rubbish
Only annoyance is the machines need cleaning, dirty tissues and hair bobbles are left in cup holders for weeks!!

JD Gym Parking
I have been a member of Rochdale JD Gym for years. There is free parking for JD members. On one occasion my car registration number was not found in the parking system and I received a parking ticket. I asked JD Gym for help and they just sent me a log from their system. I had to deal with and still deal with the parking companies (about 2 months now) myself. The parking companies do not care if the parking for JD Gym is free. I have been frustrated of this situation and lack of support from JD, I decided to cancel my very long membership at JD.
I received email from JD:
"How could we help you stay? Of course, we never like to see a member leave and wonder what made you cancel? If you’d like to let us know about anything which would have helped you stay with us, we’d love to hear it! Your valuable feedback helps us improve.
We wish you all the best and hope to see you again in future!"
I explained the situation. Do you know what answer I received?
"I can confirm we have processed your cancellation request..." Bye.
JD Gym does not care about their members. You can only get automatic response from their system that's all.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we are sorry to hear about the difficulties regarding the parking affiliate that you have had at our Rochdale gym. We always appreciate and take on board member feedback. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Unfortunately the gym team cannot act on the behalf of the member with third parties and correspond for the members however they can provide evidence of your gym usage for the member to form part of an appeal.
We apologise for the cancellation communication you received, our team aim to process all member cancellations in a timely manner and follow a set procedure with consistent communications. The offer of feedback is to ensure we continue to learn of all our member frustrations and can aim to rectify them.

Like the open space
Like the open space, but not happy with new system of scanning to let your self in to the gym too much of hassle. Also at women’s side no area where you can do cooling down exercises.

The Rochdale branch is a good one, the ladies section is too small, with fewer equipment so I don’t like that.

There was plenty of machines to use and the staff and customers were nice. Would be better if there was a pool and no music.

Only joined a few days ago
Only joined a few days ago, so far I am enjoying it. They have a lovely women’s section which I wish was bigger as it’s always busy but apart from that I think it is a nice space to workout!
