Good layout of gym, just old equipment.
Good layout of gym, bright and airy. Having been a member of most gym chains the cardio equipment is old and basic compared to other lower cost gyms. The weights machines look a bit tired. The cross trainers cannot hold different size water bottles. Looking at other JD gyms the equipment looks newer!

A lot of variety of machines and great functional area. The gym is very clean and tidy. Also PT’s Clare and Rob are lovely and very helpful

New Member
Emma and Claire gave me a fab tour of the gym and demostrated some of the equipment I was intersted in using. They also provided some advice to get me started to improve my fitness.

Equipment and area is kept clean
Equipment and area is kept clean. Good use of space. Would just like some more machines for various workouts as I feel some what limited; but I have heard some new equipment is coming in. Staff are lovely and very helpful.

Best gym I've been to by far
Best gym I've been to by far. Southend one is huge with all the equipment you could ever need, plus a ladies only section which I'm grateful for. I love working out here! Only thing is the car park is too small so sometimes I have to park round the corner but it's not too much of an issue.

overall impressed
the gym is full of excellent equipment, staff are quick and friendly at helping by the entrance and all around. super simple to set up an account and a cheap but good for your moneys worth place

Definitely Recommend!
I’ve been to gyms that honestly people judge you from the minute you go through them gates thing. Honestly, the environment here is super nice and friendly. Everyone just gets on with what they’re doing. Very spacious & love the only ladies section.

Very welcoming compared to anytime…
Very welcoming compared to anytime fitness in Leigh on sea, no staff at pure gym in Southend. It was a no brainier for me.
Go give it a try and see for yourself.

Friendly atmosphere
Friendly atmosphere. A good Zumba class. My husband had trouble finding someone to explain the various gym equipment and how it works. He found someone who then explained what was on offer.
