The smaller skin was used. When I took to have the skin installed. They said the smaller skin was too small.The bass skin was missing black tar like substance in the middle and was also too small also. A friend who ordered from the same company had a bad experience as well. For someone who is inexperienced I was not advised properly. They were more interested in the sale than advising or making sure I ordered the right thing.

A very nice harmonium. Tuning is excellent. A 10 inch visible crack on the board just below the keyboard is a bit disapointing. Otherwise a very nice instrument.

I just received the items I ordered today and it was exactly the correct size. I am very happy with the service. Kala Kendar Music contacted me several times about the other drum head I need but they didn't have the size in stock as it was an odd size. I recommend them for hard to find ethnic instruments. Also impressed with the quality of the drum head I did get.

I made an error with the Canadian to usd conversion. I attempted to cancel my order. Mickey gave me a personal call to explain the process. My order was processed successfully. I received the khamak in perfect condition, I am enjoying playing now. Kala Kandar rocks!!

Ease of ordering, timeliness of package arrival and accuracy of order

You sent sub-standard merch and did not offer to replace it. As a musical instrument builder, I understand that pegs need to be fit to the instrument. I received one quite warped one, and several quite straight ones. After sending a picture of the warped peg, I expected a new, correct peg to be sent, not to be asked to return the merchandise for refund.

Sundeep contacted me to check that I was ok with there being a potential shipping delay due to my choice of postage/shipping. The strings arrived much sooner than he anticipated anyway but it was great to have this level of concern and contact to ensure a positive experience. :)

My experience with Kala Kendar Music Warehouse was outstanding because they were great communicators, very helpful and polite. The instrument I ordered was being made in India and when there had been a delay in the arrival of the shipment, a Kala Kendar's representative informed me of other in-stock options, and I was able to change my order with their help.

The instrument arrived in time for our son's birthday. He was surprised and we all were pleased. The shruti box is beautifully crafted of teak and copper, a quality instrument.
